In this paper, we study how to select a high performance end-to-end path in multi-hop cognitive wireless networks. Due to the time-varying spectrums and undetermined activity of primary users, path selection in cognitive wireless networks is much harder than that of traditional wireless networks. To attack this problem, we propose a novel routing metric, called WHAT (Weighted Hop, spectrum-Awareness, and sTability), which takes not only opportunistic spectrum access into account, but also path stability. WHAT synthesizes channel switching frequency, usage of licensed channels, and length of path together to evaluate the overall quality of an end-to-end path. In addition, different from some existing routing metrics, WHAT has two key properties of routing metric: isotonicity and monotonicity. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that WHAT can improve the network performance (TCP throughput) profoundly and ensure routing protocols operate correctly. ©2010 IEEE.

It is well-known that the DoubleMinOver classifier as an extendibility of MinOver was developed to provide a maximum margin solution with a bias. But, it can be found that the DoubleMinOver algorithm only classifies the vector pattern and fails to work in the pattern represented with the second-order tensor. In this paper, we propose a novel DoubleMinOver classifier named STDoubleMinOver that can directly classify the second-order tensor pattern. Compared with the existing DoubleMinOver with only one weight w, the proposed STDoubleMinOver induces two weight vectors u and v so as to deal with the second-order tensor. The experiments here have demonstrated that the proposed STDoubleMinOver has a superior classification to the vectorized DoubleMinOver. © 2010 IEEE.

An intelligent content adaptation system taking semantic adaptation method is built to provide good personalized service for user. Compared with some website using web mining and collaborative Filtering technology, in this system, the intelligence comes from the knowledge service providing by CBKMF(ontology-Cloud based knowledge manage framework), in which knowledge modeling, managing, data-mining and evolving is tackled by ontology cloud model. what's more, the knowledge is described more delicated and can be utilized more easily, with less time and space cost. As the knowledge is regarded as a kind of resource in this framework, it is more suitable for building intelligent system under Semantic Web circumstance in future.

The capacity problem is one of the main issues in researching the multi-channel IEEE 802.11 wireless networks. In this paper, we analyze the path capacity of the multi-channel wireless networks by estimating the RTS, CTS and the packet loss rate of the wireless links and calculating the average service time of the packet sending. We also analyze the channel assignment and channel switching problems and present the Neighborhood Channel Concentration Degree (NCCD) mechanism which can distribute network load into the available channels and increase the total throughput of the network. We use ns-2 as the simulator to simulate the network throughput using our NCCD and compare with the throughput of the MCR mechanism. The results show that NCCD can significantly increase the network throughput.

Fault diagnosis expert system is wide used in the maintenance application fields. And knowledge acquisition is the key technology of expert system development. For the equipment maintenance domain, systems typically require a very long period to acquire knowledge, and knowledge is not necessarily correct. To address this issue, we describe the relationship between rough set theory and rulebased description of equipment failures. Then the exclusive rules, inclusive rules and failure images of equipment are built based on the EMES (Equipment Maintenance Expert System) diagnosis model, and the definition of probability rule is put forward. Next, we present the rulebased automated induction reasoning method and resampling methods. We also introduce automated induction of the rulebased description, which is used in our EMES. Finally, the experimental results show our solution gives a very suitable framework to represent processes of uncertain knowledge extraction.

The frequent items problem is to process a stream as a stream of items and find all items occurring more than a given fraction of the time. It is one of the most heavily studied problems in data stream mining, dating back to the 1980s. Aiming at higher false positive rate of the Space-Saving algorithm, an LRU-based (Least Recently Used, LRU) improved algorithm with low frequency item pre-eliminated is proposed. Accuracy, stability and adaptability of the improved algorithm have been apparently enhanced. Experimental results indicate that the algorithm can not only be used to find the frequent items, and can be used to estimate the frequency of them precisely. The improved algorithm can be used for online processing both high-speed network packet stream and backbone NetFlow stream.

In this paper, we bring forward the Bayesian filter technology based on AntiSpam Grid, which can realize the cooperation among various servers and comprehensive utilization of grid resources, and ultimately improve the accuracy and efficiency of spam *** analyze the Anti-Spam Grid, design and implement the grid-based Bayesian filter, and experimentally verify the effect of the filtering system.

Matrix-pattern-oriented Ho-Kashyap classifier has been demonstrated to have a superior classification performance to its vector classifier. However, it is found that the matrixized classifier takes a large computational complexity for convergence in some cases. To overcome the disadvantage, this paper introduces the early stopping technique into the matrixized Ho-Kashyap classifier and presents a Matrix-pattern-oriented Ho-Kashyap classifier with Early Stopping named MatHKES. The presented MatHKES adopts early stopping as a new regularization technique instead of adding a regularization parameter in the criterion. The proposed algorithm achieves: 1) a less running time;2) a competitive or better classification performance;3) an avoidance of overfitting in training. © 2008 IEEE.

The technology of Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) can utilize unused licensed bands not being used by licensed users to improve the capacity and throughput of multi-hop wireless networks working on the ISM bands. However, DSA also brings us a new challenge: how to network the radios in multi-hop DSA networks to improve network performance, such as throughput and end-to-end delay? To address this issue, we propose a STability-Aware Routing Protocol (STARP) for multi-hop DSA networks. STARP can find the most stable path among multi paths to the destination for upper layer protocol. STARP evaluates path stability by utilizing a novel routing metric, which takes into account spectrum switching frequency, spectrum usage, and path length together. Simulation results of NS-2 show STARP is efficient and robust. In addition, STARP can achieve good improvement of TCP performance and shorten end-to-end packet delay significantly.
