The exponential growth of academic publications has made scholarly research recommender systems indispensable tools for researchers. These systems rely on diverse evaluation metrics to assess their effectiveness and relevance. This paper provides a comprehensive review and analysis of these metrics, categorizing them into accuracy, ranking, diversity, user-centric, coverage, temporal, and computational metrics. By employing a mixed-methods approach, combining systematic literature review and empirical analysis, we identify the prevalence and application of these metrics across various scholarly domains such as literature, conferences, and reviewers. Our findings highlight the widespread use of traditional metrics like precision, recall, and Fl-score, while emphasizing the growing importance of novel metrics such as unexpectedness and serendipity, especially in literature and conference recommendations. We also underscore the domain-specific nature of metric selection, with user-centric evaluations more prominent in literature recommendations, and ranking-focused metrics dominant in conference and reviewer recommendations. Furthermore, the study reveals a significant gap in the use of temporal and computational metrics, suggesting key areas for future research. This review offers valuable insights for researchers and practitioners, guiding them in metric selection and highlighting potential directions for enhancing the effectiveness, adaptability, and user satisfaction of scholarly recommender systems. © 2024 IEEE.

The hand-eye calibration problem represents a major challenge in robotics, arising from the widespread usage of robotic systems along with robot-mounted sensors. Briefly, consisting of estimating the position and orientation of a visual sensor (usually a camera attached to the robot’s end-effector) with respect to the robot itself, calibration is critical in tracking rigid bodies—a common task within mixed reality applications. Hand-eye calibration implies solving the problem formulated as AX = XB or AX = YB equations. The solution lies in computing the unknown homogeneous transformation matrices X and Y, given the A and B parameterizations of rigid body motions. We present the dual vectors based approaches for AX = XB and AX = YB calibration problems, making use of the isomorphism between the special Euclidean group and the orthogonal dual tensor group. SightAid: empowering the visually impaired in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) with deep learning-based intelligent wearable vision system

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, visual impairment poses significant challenges for approximately 17.5% of school-aged children, mainly due to refractive errors. These challenges extend to everyday navigation, environmental interaction, and overall life quality. Motivated by the desire to empower visually impaired individuals, who face navigational limitations, difficulties in object recognition, and inadequate assistance from traditional technologies, we propose SightAid. This innovative wearable vision system utilizes a deep learning-based framework, addressing the gaps left by current assistive solutions. Traditional methods, such as canes and GPS devices, often fail to meet the nuanced and dynamic needs of the visually impaired, especially in accurately identifying objects, understanding complex environments, and providing essential real-time feedback for independent navigation. SightAid comprises a seven-phase framework involving data collection, preprocessing, and training of a sophisticated deep neural network with multiple convolutional and fully connected layers. This system is integrated into smart glasses with augmented reality displays, enabling real-time object detection and recognition. Interaction with users is facilitated through audio or haptic feedback, informing them about the location and type of objects detected. A continuous learning mechanism, incorporating user feedback and new data, ensures the system's ongoing refinement and adaptability. For performance assessment, we utilized the MNIST dataset, and an Indoor Objects Detection dataset tailored for the visually impaired, featuring images of everyday objects crucial for safe indoor navigation. SightAid demonstrates remarkable performance with accuracy up to 0.9874, recall values between 0.98 and 0.99, F1-scores ranging from 0.98 to 0.99, and AUC-ROC values reaching as high as 0.9999. Faithful geometric measures for genuine tripartite entanglement

We present a faithful geometric picture for genuine tripartite entanglement of discrete, continuous, and hybrid quantum systems. We first find that the triangle relation Ei|jkα≤Ej|ikα+Ek|ijα holds for all subadditive bipartite entanglement measure E, all permutations under parties i,j,k, all α∈[0,1], and all pure tripartite states. Then, we rigorously prove that the nonobtuse triangle area, enclosed by side Eα with 0<α≤1/2, is a measure for genuine tripartite entanglement. Finally, it is significantly strengthened for qubits that given a set of subadditive and nonsubadditive measures, some state is always found to violate the triangle relation for any α>1, and the triangle area is not a measure for any α>1/2. Our results pave the way to study discrete and continuous multipartite entanglement within a unified framework.

Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization). Hamiltonian learning using machine-learning models trained with continuous measurements

We build upon recent work on the use of machine-learning models to estimate Hamiltonian parameters using continuous weak measurement of qubits as input. We consider two settings for the training of our model: (1) supervised learning, where the weak-measurement training record can be labeled with known Hamiltonian parameters, and (2) unsupervised learning, where no labels are available. The first has the advantage of not requiring an explicit representation of the quantum state, thus potentially scaling very favorably to a larger number of qubits. The second requires the implementation of a physical model to map the Hamiltonian parameters to a measurement record, which we implement using an integrator of the physical model with a recurrent neural network to provide a model-free correction at every time step to account for small effects not captured by the physical model. We test our construction on a system of two qubits and demonstrate accurate prediction of multiple physical parameters in both the supervised context and the unsupervised context. We demonstrate that the model benefits from larger training sets, establishing that it is “learning,” and we show robustness regarding errors in the assumed physical model by achieving accurate parameter estimation in the presence of unanticipated single-particle relaxation.

Modern urban development depends on optimizing cognitive sensor communications in smart cities, which is the focus of this investigation. In the era of expanding sensor networks, efficient data transmission is paramount for the success of smart city initiatives. The current state of sensor communication faces challenges like suboptimal adaptability, inefficient energy usage, and limited fault detection. This study proposes a solution through the application of an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS), identifying these challenges as opportunities for improvement. The novelty lies in ANFIS's introduction as an intelligent and adaptive solution. Its ability to learn from sensor data, adapt to changing conditions, and optimize communication parameters sets it apart in enhancing cognitive sensor communication. The research methodology involves a systematic approach, encompassing data collection, pre-processing, and ANFIS model development. The model is rigorously trained, validated, and tested for real-world effectiveness. Integration into the smart city communication system is explored, emphasizing applications in context-aware communication, energy-efficient protocols, and fault detection. Performance is evaluated using metrics like accuracy, reliability, and efficiency, demonstrating the model's efficacy in addressing drawbacks and enhancing overall sensor communication in smart cities. Extracting parameters accurately and effectively from solar photovoltaic (PV) models is crucial for detailed simulation, evaluation, and management of PV systems. Although there has been an increase in the development of analytical, numerical, and metaheuristic methods targeting this task, accurately determining these parameters continues to be a significant challenge. This study focuses on applying Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for the extraction of key parameters of RTC France solar cells, a critical step towards enhancing PV system efficiency and reliability. Additionally, the PSO's performance is evaluated against other metaheuristic algorithms including Enhanced Chaotic JAYA (CJAYA), Performance-Guided JAYA (PGJAYA), and Enhanced Gradient-Based Optimizer (EGBO), underscoring the effectiveness of the proposed PSO-based approach.
