Enabling high mobility applications in millimeter wave(mmWave)based systems opens up a slew of new possibilities,including vehicle communi-cations in addition to wireless virtual/augmented *** narrow beam usage in addition to the millimeter waves sensitivity might block the coverage along with the reliability of the mobile *** this research work,the improvement in the quality of experience faced by the user for multimedia-related applications over the millimeter-wave band is *** high attenuation loss in high frequencies is compensated with a massive array structure named Multiple Input and Multiple Output(MIMO)which is utilized in a hyperdense environment called heterogeneous networks(HetNet).The optimization problem which arises while maximizing the Mean Opinion Score(MOS)is analyzed along with the QoE(Quality of Experience)metric by considering the Base Station(BS)powers in addition to the needed Quality of Service(QoS).Most of the approaches related to wireless network communication are not suitable for the millimeter-wave band because of its problems due to high complexity and its dynamic *** a deep reinforcement learning framework is developed for tackling the same opti-mization *** this work,a Fuzzy-based Deep Convolutional Neural Net-work(FDCNN)is proposed in addition to a Deep Reinforcing Learning Framework(DRLF)for extracting the features of highly correlated *** investigational results prove that the proposed method yields the highest satisfac-tion to the user by increasing the number of antennas in addition with the small-scale antennas at the base *** proposed work outperforms in terms of MOS with multiple antennas.

Application of machine learning techniques to predict patient’s satisfaction of indoor environmental quality in Jordanian hospitals

The indoor environment is an integral part of the hospital design since it impacts patients’ health, well-being, and healing process. Although the machine learning approach has been widely adopted in many fields, limited studies applied the machine learning approach to indoor environmental quality (IEQ) in hospitals and the impact of the room type on patients’ satisfaction with IEQ. Accordingly, the current study aims to bridge this gap using the machine learning approach. The research used mixed design methods to assess indoor environmental quality. The data was gathered using self-reported data and field monitoring of environmental parameters inside patients’ rooms. King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH) was used to represent hospitals in Jordan. Machine learning proceeded in several stages, starting from prepossessing, training the algorithms, and testing the results. The experiments were conducted with the same dataset for training and testing and evaluated using the same classification metrics using Python programming language. Besides, the most important features were conducted using Random Forest regardless of room type, in each room type, and each category of IEQ between room types. Extracting valuable information frombiomedical texts is one of the current research hotspots of concern to a wide range of *** biomedical corpus contains numerous complex long sentences and overlapping relational triples,making most generalized domain joint modeling methods difficult to apply effectively in this *** a complex semantic environment in biomedical texts,in this paper,we propose a novel perspective to perform joint entity and relation extraction;existing studies divide the relation triples into several steps or ***,the three elements in the relation triples are interdependent and inseparable,so we regard joint extraction as a tripartite classification *** the same time,fromthe perspective of triple classification,we design amulti-granularity 2D convolution to refine the word pair table and better utilize the dependencies between biomedical word ***,we use a biaffine predictor to assist in predicting the labels of word pairs for relation *** model(MCTPL)Multi-granularity Convolutional Tokens Pairs of Labeling better utilizes the elements of triples and improves the ability to extract overlapping triples compared to previous ***,we evaluated our model on two publicly accessible *** experimental results show that our model’s ability to extract relation triples on the CPI dataset improves the F1 score by 2.34%compared to the current optimal *** the DDI dataset,the F1 value improves the F1 value by 1.68%compared to the current optimal *** model achieved state-of-the-art performance compared to other baseline models in biomedical text entity relation extraction.

Cost/Benefit Analysis of AIoT Image Sensing for Construction Safety Monitoring

Rapid advances in deep learning and computer vision enable traditional cloud-based decision-making through edge computing with the Artificial Intelligent Internet of Things (AIoT) image sensors (AIoT-IS), thus improving the timeliness and security of image recognition. This study is indented to investigate the potential costs and benefits of AIoT-IS applications. This study summarizes AIoT-IS application scenarios for construction safety monitoring and proposes a cost/benefit analysis method for AIoT-IS implementation projects. According to the case study results, AIoT-IS achieves significant benefits, with a Net Present Value Index (NPVI) of 19.17% and a Benefit/Cost Ratio (BCR) of 4.65 as applied to construction site safety monitoring. Interviews with domain experts also provided qualitative feedback, pointing to the directions for future research. The proposed method is applicable for the decision-making of AIoT-IS adoption and the feasibility assessment of other innovative construction technologies. In the era of Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing is reshaping how things are made. At the heart of it is the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), where smart sensors and connections create a digital system for factories. This paper highlights how IIoT facilitates real-time data exchange, aiding quick decision-making and creating adaptable manufacturing setups. Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) integration is also discussed, showing how the line between physical and digital elements in manufacturing is getting blurred. Big Data Analytics is another game-changer, supporting data-driven decisions and predictive maintenance. The paper also digs into Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, showing how they automate tasks and continuously learn, improving manufacturing processes. Real-world applications are examined, including Digital Twins, advanced robotics like collaborative robots (Cobots), 3D printing, and smart supply chain management. While Smart Manufacturing offers numerous benefits, it's not without challenges. The survey talks about security and privacy concerns, emphasizing the need for strong cybersecurity. Interoperability, ensuring different technologies work seamlessly together, and addressing the workforce skills gap are also explored. The paper ends with examples of successful implementations and looks at future trends, such as the impact of 5G, blockchain in supply chain management, human augmentation, and the push for sustainability in Smart Manufacturing. Adaptive Data Forwarding Scheme for Diverse Infotainment Services in Vehicular Named Data Networking

Providing diverse infotainment services is crucial for enhancing road safety and improving the overall driving experience in vehicular networks. However, delivering these services within Vehicular Named Data Networking (VNDN) environments presents significant challenges, primarily due to the data broadcast phenomenon and the varying Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of different applications. This paper introduces an adaptive data forwarding scheme designed to effectively manage these challenges and optimize the delivery of infotainment services in VNDN. Our proposed scheme enhances the data packet format by incorporating additional attributes that prioritize data based on its criticality, specifically categorizing it into critical, non-critical, and entertainment data. Furthermore, we introduce an Enhanced Weighted Fair Queuing (EWFQ) policy to optimize the scheduling of data packets according to their importance. Two innovative data forwarding schemes, namely Advanced Push-based Data Forwarding (APDF) and Enhanced Pull-based Data Forwarding (EPDF), are developed to address the needs of critical and non-critical information and entertainment data, respectively. Simulation results demonstrate that our adaptive data forwarding scheme significantly outperforms legacy fragment schemes in delivering infotainment data within dynamic VNDN environments, ensuring reliability and efficiency. This paper contributes to advancing data dissemination strategies in vehicular networks and lays the groundwork for future research in adaptive QoS management. © 1967-2012 IEEE.
