In order to convert solar energy into thermal energy, solar air heater (SAH) is commonly used. These are used to convert the solar radiation into heat of working fluid. The effect of various geometric constraints on the friction characteristics and heat transfer (HT) of a SAH has been studied. The paper aims to introduce the various parameters that are involved in the analysis of HT enhancement of SAH. There are various techniques that are involved in the analysis of HT enhancement of SAH. One of these is the use of a passive method, which involves the use of turbulators, ribs or fins on the surface. SAHs that are roughened can improve their HT properties compared to their plain counterparts. This is because the various surface patterns and shapes used in their design can help improve their performance. There have been many different sorts of studies conducted on the many facets of these HT augmentation approaches. Studies showed that combining the roughening process with a rough absorber plate can improve the performance of SAH duct. The goal of this study is to identify the most appropriate roughness component for solar air duct that can meet the different operating conditions. The findings of this study can be used to design and construct enhanced SAH duct system. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This article provides an explanation of the use of a Twin-Array Quasi Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) Reflector with Dual Band Cross-Dipole for antenna applications in 5G base stations. The base material employed in this study is FR4 sheet, which has a dielectric constant (ϵr) of 4.3. The antenna obtained has dimensions of 100x100 mm2 and functions throughout the frequency spectrum spanning from 730 to 860 MHz, 1700 to 2130 MHz. The primary benefits of this antenna design are its lightweight structural composition, compatibility with the frequency range of 730-860 MHz, and discernible performance attributes. The CST Studio Suite software was used to conduct a simulation of the antenna's performance. The antenna has an operating frequency range of 730-860 MHz and 1700-2130 MHz, enabling it to support a unidirectional wave propagation pattern that is suitable for the implementation of a 5G mobile communication base station. © 2023 IEEE.

Research on Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerant Algorithm Based on Trust Mechanism

The consensus algorithm is one of the core technologies of the blockchain, which determines how the nodes in the blockchain network reach a consensus and enable them to jointly maintain a piece of data. This paper focuses on the Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerant Algorithm (PBFT Algorithm), and proposes a Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerant Algorithm based on Trust Mechanism (TM-PBFT Algorithm) to solve the problems of its low fault-tolerant rate and high communication cost. This algorithm supports voting for trusted nodes before the consensus cycle starts. In order to make nodes actively vote and vote for reliable nodes, this paper models the trust degree of nodes. In addition, the time factor is added to the Shapley value to design a new reward and punishment scheme, which makes the distribution of income of each node more reasonable and further encourages nodes to vote for reliable nodes. As the system runs for a long time, the probability of malicious nodes becoming master nodes decreases. Finally, a comparison experiment between the proposed algorithm and the PBFT algorithm shows that the fault tolerance and throughput of the TM-PBFT algorithm are higher than that of the PBFT algorithm, and the communication bandwidth overhead is lower than that of the PBFT algorithm. © 2022 computer Society of the Republic of China. Influence of 3D laparoscopic surgery on surgeon’s visual pattern and mental workload

Previous studies have found that surgeons perform better in three-dimensional (3D) surgery than in two-dimensional (2D) surgery. However, no comparative studies have revealed the impact of 3D laparoscopic surgery on the surgeon’s vision. To explore the effect of laparoscopic surgeons’ depth perception during 3D laparoscopic surgery, 10 participants were recruited and performed 4 sets comparative simulated laparoscopic procedures in a virtual simulator, and eye movement signals were acquired, which were used to characteristics the visual differences. Fixation rate and saccade speed were used to characterise the influence of moderating variables for visual characteristics. The results from the data showed significant differences in eye movement behaviour. Compared with 2D laparoscopic surgery, surgeons have more average fixation rate (p-values = 0.001, 0.000, 0.003 and 0.015, respectively) and faster saccade speed (p-values = 0.037, 0.003, 0.073 and 0.105, respectively) in 3D laparoscopic surgery. The results of this study showed that surgeons had more efficient visual search in 3D laparoscopic surgery. At the same time, the results also indicated that surgeon’s mental workload in 3D laparoscopic surgery was low. The relevant conclusions of this paper revealed the advantages of 3D laparoscopic surgery through visual efficiency. © 2021 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Redundant and Loosely Coupled LiDAR-Wi-Fi Integration for Robust Global Localization in Autonomous Mobile Robotics

This paper presents a framework addressing the challenge of global localization in autonomous mobile robotics by integrating LiDAR-based descriptors and Wi-Fi fingerprinting in a pre-mapped environment. This is motivated by the increasing demand for reliable localization in complex scenarios, such as urban areas or underground mines, requiring robust systems able to overcome limitations faced by traditional Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-based localization methods. By leveraging the complementary strengths of LiDAR and Wi-Fi sensors used to generate predictions and evaluate the confidence of each prediction as an indicator of potential degradation, we propose a redundancy-based approach that enhances the system’s overall robustness and accuracy. The proposed framework allows independent operation of the LiDAR and Wi-Fi sensors, ensuring system redundancy. By combining the predictions while considering their confidence levels, we achieve enhanced and consistent performance in localization tasks. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) influenced technical aspects of research for generating automated intelligent behaviors covering divergent domains but has shown appreciable results when used in cyber forensic technology for crime analysis and detection. AI experts warned about possible security risks associated with algorithms and training data, as AI inherits computing features dealing with IoT-based Smart applications and autonomous transportation, and may be found to be susceptible to vulnerability and threats. The present work discusses models for analyzing terrorists related information and categorizing malicious events by covering the literature review on security risks and AI-related criminality by presenting a taxonomy of criminal behavior and signatures covering tools and criminal targets used in fraudulent activities using AI features by digital forensic techniques. We've also shown how AI may make existing crimes more potent, and that new sorts of crimes could emerge that haven't been identified previously. This study has presented a systematic structure for AI crime and dealing strategies. Furthermore, we have proposed AI forensics, a unique strategy for combating AI crime. We discovered that several concepts of DF are still not preferred in AI-based forensics after conducting a comparative examination of forensics. © 2023 Slovene Society Informatika. The service delivery has lately witnessed strides in the form of paradigm shifts from conventional logistics to drone-oriented supply chain to conserve ecosystem. The use of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for package deliveries offer enhanced accessibility, flexibility, efficiency, speed, safety, and even few environmental gains. However, the drones can come across various security hazards while communicating with ground installations on open channels including physical capture attack, privacy infringement, and so on. Thus, earnest endeavors are needed to fix those security challenges in applications related to drone communications. To address these problems, an efficient authenticated key agreement technique, drone access control scheme for last mile delivery (DAC-MD) is suggested for user-drone interactions in IoD environment that help the participating entities in developing a mutually agreed session key for securing subsequent communication interactions. The proposed scheme is proved using automated ProVerif tool as well as analyzed by using formal analysis based on RoR random oracle model. The comparative analysis against recently presented known studies reveals that our scheme not only carries comparable properties in terms of security and privacy, but also low computational and communication costs. © 2024 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Internet of Things (IoT) is considered as the next industrial revolution in the years ahead. Many devices will have been connected to the Internet and more and more devices were added to them. The number of these types of devices is increased rapidly. So, management of them needs advanced technologies. Optimization of different problems in IoT is an essential subject of many researches and Swarm Intelligence algorithms (SI) are one of the most successful methods in this field. They were inspired by the collective behavior of simple creatures which communicate directly and indirectly with each other. Although they are considered as simple agents, their collective behavior is smart. They can overcome most problems in their life using collective behavior. In this research, we investigated some of the most common optimization problems in IoT and the SI algorithms which are used to solve them. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper describes an academic project building on various state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 technologies. The project considers as the primary scenario the current problem behind the accumulation of biological waste in the vicinity of hospitals due to the COVID-19. To that end, a fully automated personal protective equipment recycling plant is developed using the Factory I/O simulation tool, TIA Portal, and Ignition. The project is considered to serve well as a reference for other Electrical Engineering undergraduates while complementing their training in skills such as design, automation, and supervision of industrial processes.

The need for intellectualization of project management processes is shown, in particular, the creation of intelligent systems capable of effectively plan projects in the process of natural-language interaction with the project team. The analysis of existing theoretical and practical developments in this field is carried out. It is shown that the issue of intellectualization of the project planning process is still open. It is proposed to use a reflex approach to building an intelligent project planning system. The technology of reflex identification of actions in project planning systems, based on the model of non-force (information) interaction, is proposed. Scenarios of actions have been developed and their distribution has been performed in accordance with the content of natural language requests to the project planning system. Experimental studies are shown a high probability of correct recognition of actions in project planning systems from natural language requests of project team members. The results of the conducted experiments unequivocally testify to the effectiveness of the developed information technology of reflex identification of action scenarios in project planning systems. © 2022 IEEE.
