This paper presents a novel face recognition technique with graph topology drawn on scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) features and is compared with all the available well known techniques on SIFT features, and elastic bunch graph matching (EBGM) technique drawn on gabor wavelet feature. IITK face database is used for evaluation purpose. Test results show that the proposed graph matching technique will be an appropriate one for face recognition. Finally, the test results have been compared with the results found on BANCA face database following MC protocol only.

With regard to the fundamental problem of the MANET routing protocols, this paper according to the campus mobile node behaviour, aims to establish a campus wireless mobile model based on AOC system. Through NS-2 simulation platform extensive simulate result and analysis of different mobile fashion which effect on the MANET routing protocol performance: in the aspect of Packet Delivery Ratio,DSR and AODV both surpass 95%, were not greatly affected by the changes of node mobile rate; DSDV and DSR closed to the Path Optimality.

We describe a sensory augmentation system designed to provide the visually disabled with a sense of color. Our system consists of a glove with short-range optical color sensors mounted on its fingertips, and a torso-worn belt on which tactors (haptic feedback actuators) are mounted. Each fingertip sensor detects the observed objectpsilas color. This information is encoded to the tactor through vibrations in respective locations and varying modulations. Early results suggest that detection of primary colors is possible with near 100% accuracy and moderate latency, with a minimum amount of training.

This paper is dealing with redundant optoelectronic data transmission with special respect to laser channels. The concept of the generalized erasure channel (GEC) is used to determine the probability of undetected error for some binary symmetric and non-symmetric channels protected by appropriate codes. In detail, communication via different binary symmetric channels (BSCs), generalized erasure channels and symmetrized binary non symmetric channels (BNSCs) is investigated. Simple upper bounds are given, relating the new formulas to that one of the BSC Finally the results in connection with an inequality for proper codes are applied to multi wavelength optical transmission through channels generated by semiconductor lasers.

Dynamic voltage/frequency scaling (DVFS) has been widely applied to reduce the power dissipation of multi-cores processor. However, when applying DVFS, signals need to be synchronized between asynchronous clock domains with overhead of several cycles, which will result in performance penalty, and during frequency scaling the circuit cannot work. This paper proposes a novel variable frequency clock scheme in chip multiprocessors. In our scheme, processor cores running at different frequency can communicate with each other without the overhead of synchronizing signals. The results of simulation show that our scheme can achieve EDP improvement by 16.8percent, with only 3.6percent performance degradation.

Alzheimer type dementia (ATD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder first affecting memory functions and then gradually affecting all cognitive functions with behavioral impairments and eventually causing death. Functional brain imaging including single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) is commonly used to guide the clinician’s diagnosis. However, conventional evaluation of these scans often relies on manual reorientation, visual reading and semiquantitative analysis of certain regions of the brain. These steps are time consuming, subjective and prone to error. This paper shows a fully automatic computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system for improving the accuracy in the early diagnosis of the Alzheimer’s disease. The proposed approach is based on a first automatic feature selection, and secondly a combination of component-based support vector machine (SVM) classification and a pasting votes technique of ensemble SVM classifiers.

The complexity of brain structures and the differences between brains of different subjects or across image modalities make necessary the normalization of the images with respect to a common template. The general affine model, with 12 parameters, is usually chosen as the first normalization algorithm before to proceed with a more complex non-rigid spatial transformation model. Usually, a cost function which presents an extreme value when the template and the image are matched together is optimized. In this work, the objective function is chosen to be the mean squared difference between both images, and the performance of different optimization procedures are compared.
