Road accidents have been known to be one of the leading death causes around the world for a long time. Thus, cars and all kinds of road vehicles form a huge source of danger, and they relate to multiple high risks. There are many factors that can contribute to road traffic accidents such as the health condition of the driver if a medical emergency event happened while driving, drowsiness, or mind-wandering. The proposed system can monitor the behavior of the driver while driving as well as his/her health status. Moreover, it analyzes the monitored data, alerts the driver in a timely manner, and assists him/her in adjusting the driving behavior. Different dangerous and risky situations which can be faced during driving can be captured and avoided by using such a system which leads at the end to increase road traffic safety and reduce vehicle collisions. Notifications are developed in cases of drowsiness, loss of focus, or other concerns that may emerge while driving. However, when the driver's ability to operate the vehicle safely is hampered by a health concern, the implemented system is only able at this stage to alarm the driver itself and the surrounding cars as a first level of alarms.

Chronic back pain can present a serious health concern, with symptoms that can significantly affect an individual's well-being, mobility, and overall quality of life over an extended period. While chronic back pain may manifest suddenly in some cases, it often develops gradually and persists for weeks, and in untreated cases, it can linger for years. Hence, the utilization of assistive devices such as wearable posture-monitoring vests can offer valuable assistance and guidance to users. This research paper is dedicated to the development of a system for detecting, diagnosing, and correcting poor posture, specifically leaning posture. The vest is designed to provide users with visual, auditory, and tactile cues to help them address this issue, thereby reducing the risk associated with leaning. Additionally, an integrated electrical box has been designed to consolidate all components directly onto the main board in a secure enclosure. This box also displays the daily count of instances where the user has leaned. This system is characterized by its electrical safety, portability, compactness, comfort, and affordability. A comprehensive analysis of the system's performance has been conducted with a meticulous evaluation of accuracy. Each component of the system has undergone successful testing, and the system as a whole is currently in the testing phase. The results of these tests have indicated a lack of faulty errors and have demonstrated outstanding accuracy and detection rates. Over 100 individuals of varying ages, genders, and BMI categories were involved in testing, with each person wearing the device for an average of six hours. The accuracy rate achieved was 98.85%, with an average of 54.35 instances of poor posture detected per participant. © 2023 IEEE.

With this work, a research contribution in the field of reliability theory has been made, with which a realistic prognosis of reliability parameters of technical systems can be carried out. The motivation to deal with this topic resulted from the realization that the prognosis quality of established prognosis models must be optimized. An early and realistic prognosis of reliability parameters contributes to the success of a concern, mainly through the early implementation of quality measures. The work focuses on the development of a new multivariate prognosis model, which uses multivariate stress parameters as reference variables. Its application enables the prediction of reliability parameters for electronic control units. The predicted reliability parameters can be specified as stress-dependent (bivariate/multivariate) or time-dependent variables. While univariate reference quantities usually use the time dwell time of a technical system, the prognosis model newly presented here can process multivariate reference quantities. During the time in the field, technical systems are not only exposed to different usage behavior, but also to other stresses and influences that make a not inconsiderable contribution to failure. The use of time in the field as a univariate reference variable does not allow for this differentiated consideration and does not take into account relevant information in the reliability analysis. All existing prediction models have in common that only univariate reference parameters can be processed. For a fully comprehensive reliability analysis, all stress variables that lead to a failure must be considered. This is not sufficiently possible with a simple univariate approach. With the new approaches, it is now possible for the first time to consider different stress variables, their changes and their effects on the technical system under investigation in a field data analysis. Urban air is frequently contaminated with CO, CO2, VOC, HCHO, PM 2.5, and PM 10. Rural regions are at a lower risk than those near roads and industrial areas that produce emissions. Air pollutants negatively affect its inhabitants' health, particularly the respiratory system. Most people will spend more time indoors, requiring a method for monitoring indoor air quality (IAQ). Urban communities need IAQ monitoring instruments as an early warning system for their health. This research seeks to produce inexpensive IAQ that can be utilized by all levels of society, particularly urban communities. This research utilizes a qualitative, design-thinking-based methodology. The research diverged from Empatize, which asserts that urban communities require a method for determining the local air quality. Moreover, it is determined at the define stage that IAQ monitoring, which includes a data log feature, is still comparatively expensive, so a solution is developed at the ideate stage. Creating a prototype is the next step in realizing the specified solution. In this investigation, they decided to use IAQ monitoring, which is relatively inexpensive but lacks log data storage. The author uses the ESP32-cam microcontroller to capture the screen display device, and the resulting image is sent to a telegram and processed with optical character recognition (OCR) to generate a data log. The results of prototype testing are utilized for prototype development. © 2023 IEEE.

Developing force control mechanisms employing electromagnetics is on the rise in active control applications for flexible mechanical systems like marine engines and shipboard machinery. Electromagnetic control devices offer superior performance indicators compared to traditional mechanical force actuators in terms of longevity, energy efficiency, maintenance requirements, rapid control response, and high operating speeds. This article investigates the use of magnetic actuation and switching power electronics in addressing the stabilization and tracking control challenges encountered in the dynamics of a mechanical system with a single degree of freedom, comprising mass, spring, and damper elements. Particularly, a linear mechanical oscillator is nonlinearly coupled with an electromagnet and its associated driving circuit via the magnetic field. The electromagnetically actuated mechanical system exhibits characteristics of a differentially flat nonlinear system. A control strategy is suggested for the purpose of tracking reference position trajectories using output feedback linearization. The synthetic linearized control signal is subsequently guided to a DC-DC buck converter, able to regulate the system’s input voltage in a wide range of operation, by switching the duty cycle. The converter is described using a precise electrical model of the system, accounting for parasitic resistances in the inductor, capacitor, and switches. An averaged state space approach is utilized to create a mathematical nonlinear model for the converter which is then linearized by employing the Exact Feedback Linearization technique. By applying optimal control theory, the controller's coefficients are fine-tuned for optimal performance. To assess the proposed method's performance, the dynamics of the compensated mechatronic system is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink. Independent mobility is an important feature of an individual's normal life and with the elderly population continually growing, assistive devices such as walkers and canes provide help and guidance to users. Freezing of Gait (FoG) is an episodic phenomenon that is a common symptom of an age-related disease known as Parkinson Disease (PD). This paper is headed toward implementing a detection, diagnosis and correction system for FoG episodes. The proposed cane will generate visual, auditory and tactile cues to help patients overcome this problem, therefore reducing fall risks. In addition, a vibrating calf cuff will be attached to the calf for muscle stimulation. A compatible android phone application is designed to display heart rate measurements of the patient as well as his exact location in case of fall detection. The system is considered to be an electrically safe, portable, comfortable and a low-cost device. The performance of this system is analyzed thoroughly and the accuracy of all methodologies is considered carefully and evaluated. The results have shown no faulty errors and good accuracy and detection percentages. © 2021 IEEE.

This article investigates the adaptive resource allocation scheme for digital twin (DT) synchronization optimization over dynamic wireless networks. In our considered model, a base station (BS) continuously collects factory physical object state data from wireless devices to build a real-time virtual DT system for factory event analysis. Due to continuous data transmission, maintaining DT synchronization must use extensive wireless resources. To address this issue, a subset of devices is selected to transmit their sensing data, and resource block (RB) allocation is optimized. This problem is formulated as a constrained Markov process (CMDP) problem that minimizes the long-term mismatch between the physical and virtual systems. To solve this CMDP, we first transform the problem into a dual problem that refines RB constraint impacts on device scheduling strategies. We then propose a continual reinforcement learning (CRL) algorithm to solve the dual problem. The CRL algorithm learns a stable policy across historical experiences for quick adaptation to dynamics in physical states and network capacity. Simulation results show that the CRL can adapt quickly to network capacity changes and reduce normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) between physical and virtual states by up to 55.2%, using the same RB number as traditional methods. © 2025 IEEE. Mobile edge computing (MEC) has produced incredible outcomes in the context of computationally intensive mobile applications by offloading computation to a neighboring server to limit the energy usage of user equipment (UE). However, choosing a pool of application components to offload in addition to the volume of data transfer along with the latency in communication is an intricate issue. In this article, we introduce a novel energy-efficient offloading scheme based on deep neural networks. The proposed scheme trains an intelligent decision-making model that picks a robust pool of application components. The selection is based on factors such as the remaining UE battery power, network conditions, the volume of data transfer, required energy by the application components, postponements in communication, and computational load. We have designed the cost function taking all the mentioned factors, get the cost for all conceivable combinations of component offloading decisions, pick the robust decisions over an extensive dataset, and train a deep neural network as a substitute for the exhaustive computations associated. Model outcomes illustrate that our proposed scheme is proficient in the context of accuracy, root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and energy usage of UE. © 2023 Israr Khan et al.
