According to Islamic beliefs, movement and stillness of Iranian architecture, also to its literal meaning, has a more complex meaning and understanding its space has a special place. The purpose of this research is to study the role of some movement and stillness elements in the development of Iranian-Islamic cities to make optimal satisfaction in human. The method of this study is descriptive-analytical. Hence, in this research, first, the concepts of movement and stillness and its components in Iranian-Islamic architecture have been expressed. Then, we introduce Iranian-Islamic mosques, houses and Bazaars (markets) as the prominent buildings of our paper. The finding result of the research shows that movement and stillness elements have an important influence on the satisfaction of the environment and realization of peace in human.

The existence of diffuse Galactic neutrino production is expected from cosmic ray interactions with Galactic gas and radiation fields. Thus, neutrinos are a unique messenger offering the opportunity to test the products of Galactic cosmic ray interactions up to energies of hundreds of TeV. Here we present a search for this production using ten years of ANTARES track and shower data, as well as seven years of IceCube track data. The data are combined into a joint likelihood test for neutrino emission according to the KRAγ model assuming a 5 PeV per nucleon Galactic cosmic ray cutoff. No significant excess is found. As a consequence, the limits presented in this work start constraining the model parameter space for Galactic cosmic ray production and transport. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this study, we examine the impacts that EVs （electric vehicles） have on vehicle usage patterns and environmental improvements, using our integrated travel demand forecasting model, which can simulate an individual activity-travel behavior in each time period, as well as consider an induced demand by decreasing travel cost. In order to examine the effects that charging/discharging have on the demand in electricity, we analyze scenarios based on the simulation results of the EVs＇ parking location, parking duration and the battery state of charge. From the simulation, result under the ownership rate of EVs in the Nagoya metropolitan area in 2020 is about 6%, which turns out that the total CO2 emissions have decreased by 4% although the situation of urban transport is not changed. After calculating the electricity demand in each zone using architectural area and basic units of hourly power consumption, we evaluate the effect to decrease the peak load by V2G （vehicle-to-grid）. According to the results, if EV drivers charge at home during the night and discharge at work during the day, the electricity demand in Nagoya city increases by approximately 1%, although changes in each individual zone range from -7% to ＋8%, depending on its characteristics.

Voltage-frequency island (VFI)-based design has been widely exploited for optimizing system energy of embedded multi-core chip in recent years. The existing work either constructed a single static VFI partition for all kinds of applications or required per core voltage domain configuration. However, the former solution is difficult to find a single optimal VFI partition for diverse applications while the latter one suffers from high hardware cost. In this paper, we propose an energy optimization framework based on dynamically reconfigurable VFI (D-VFI). Our framework treats a small number of cores as dynamic cores (D-cores) and configures each of them with an independent voltage domain. At runtime, the D-cores can be pieced together with neighboring static VFIs. This can dynamically construct the optimal VFI partition for different kinds of applications, achieving more aggressive energy optimization under low cost. To identify the D-cores, we propose a D-VFI aware task scheduling and VFI partitioning algorithm. Moreover, we analyze all the VFI partitions to determine the optimal voltage scaling intervals which can accommodate performance degradation resulted from voltage scaling. Experimental results demonstrates that the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Multi-threaded programs play an increasingly important role in current multi-core environments. Exposing concurrency bugs and debugging such multi-threaded programs have become quite challenging due to their inherent non-determinism. In order to eliminate such non-determinism, many approaches such as record-and-replay and other similar bug reproducing systems have been proposed. However, those approaches often suffer significant performance degradation because they require a large amount of recorded information and/or long analysis and replay time. In this paper, we propose an effective approach, ReCBuLC, to take advantage of the hardware clocks available on modern processors. The key idea is to reduce the recording overhead and analyzing events' global order by using time stamps recorded in each thread. Those timestamps are used to determine the global orders of shared accesses. To avoid the large overhead incurred in accessing system-wide global clock, we opt to use local per-core clocks that incur much less access overhead. We then propose techniques to resolve differences among local clocks and obtain an accurate global event order. By using per-core clocks, state-of-the-art bug reproducing systems such as PRES and CLAP can reduce the recording overheads by 1% ~ 85%, and the analysis time by 84.66% ~ 99.99%, respectively.

Visitors utilize the urban space based on their thermal perception and thermal environment. The thermal adaptation engages the user’s behavioural, physiological and psychological aspects. These aspects play critical roles in user’s ability to assess the thermal environments. Previous studies have rarely addressed the effects of identified factors such as gender, age and locality on outdoor thermal comfort, particularly in hot, dry climate. This study investigated the thermal comfort of visitors at two city squares in Iran based on their demographics as well as the role of thermal environment. Assessing the thermal comfort required taking physical measurement and questionnaire survey. In this study, a non-linear model known as the neural network autoregressive with exogenous input (NN-ARX) was employed. Five indices of physiological equivalent temperature (PET), predicted mean vote (PMV), standard effective temperature (SET), thermal sensation votes (TSVs) and mean radiant temperature (T mrt) were trained and tested using the NN-ARX. Then, the results were compared to the artificial neural network (ANN) and the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The findings showed the superiority of the NN-ARX over the ANN and the ANFIS. For the NN-ARX model, the statistical indicators of the root mean square error (RMSE) and the mean absolute error (MAE) were 0.53 and 0.36 for the PET, 1.28 and 0.71 for the PMV, 2.59 and 1.99 for the SET, 0.29 and 0.08 for the TSV and finally 0.19 and 0.04 for the T mrt.

One of the main objectives of the ANTARES telescope is the search for point-like neutrino sources. Both the pointing accuracy and the angular resolution of the detector are important in this context and a reliable way to evaluate this performance is needed. In order to measure the pointing accuracy of the detector, one possibility is to study the shadow of the Moon, i.e. the deficit of the atmospheric muon flux from the direction of the Moon induced by the absorption of cosmic rays. Analysing the data taken between 2007 and 2016, the Moon shadow is observed with 3.5σ statistical significance. The detector angular resolution for downward-going muons is 0.73◦ ± 0.14◦. The resulting pointing performance is consistent with the expectations. An independent check of the telescope pointing accuracy is realised with the data collected by a shower array detector onboard of a ship temporarily moving around the ANTARES location. KM3NeT will be a network of deep-sea neutrino telescopes in the Mediterranean Sea. The KM3NeT/ARCA detector, to be installed at the Capo Passero site (Italy), is optimised for the detection of high-energy neutrinos of cosmic origin. Thanks to its geographical location on the Northern hemisphere, KM3NeT/ARCA can observe upgoing neutrinos from most of the Galactic Plane, including the Galactic Centre. Given its effective area and excellent pointing resolution, KM3NeT/ARCA will measure or significantly constrain the neutrino flux from potential astrophysical neutrino sources. At the same time, it will test flux predictions based on gamma-ray measurements and the assumption that the gamma-ray flux is of hadronic origin. Assuming this scenario, discovery potentials and sensitivities for a selected list of Galactic sources and to generic point sources with an E−2 spectrum are presented. These spectra are assumed to be time independent. The results indicate that an observation with 3σ significance is possible in about six years of operation for the most intense sources, such as Supernovae Remnants RXJ1713.7-3946 and Vela Jr. If no signal will be found during this time, the fraction of the gamma-ray flux coming from hadronic processes can be constrained to be below 50% for these two objects. The ANTARES neutrino telescope has an energy threshold of a few tens of GeV. This allows to study the phenomenon of atmospheric muon neutrino disappearance due to neutrino oscillations. In a similar way, constraints on the 3+1 neutrino model, which foresees the existence of one sterile neutrino, can be inferred. Using data collected by the ANTARES neutrino telescope from 2007 to 2016, a new measurement of ∆m232 and θ23 has been performed - which is consistent with world best-fit values - and constraints on the 3+1 neutrino model have been derived.
