ANTARES is an underwater neutrino detector in the Mediterranean Sea. Its location, reconstruction accuracy for all-flavor neutrino interactions, and low energy threshold, make it the most sensitive neutrino observatory for searches below 100 TeV over large parts of the sky. The HAWC experiment is a water Cherenkov gamma-ray detector located in Mexico. Thanks to its large field of view it is an excellent instrument to observe the very-high energy gamma-ray sky and perform high-sensitivity surveys of the Galactic Plane. The 10-year ANTARES data set and 3-year HAWC point source surveys are used to search for all-flavor neutrino emission in correlation with the highly-significant observations by HAWC in the gamma-ray sky by means of a maximum-likelihood template search. No significant observation for a correlation has been identified and upper limits on the neutrino flux from the HAWC observations have been set. © Copyright owned by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative Commons.

Active galaxies, especially blazars, are among the most promising neutrino source candidates. To date, ANTARES searches for these objects considered GeV-TeV γ-ray bright blazars. Here, a statistically complete radio-bright blazar sample is used as the target for searches of origins of neutrinos collected by the ANTARES neutrino telescope over 13 years of operation. The hypothesis of a neutrino-blazar directional correlation is tested by pair counting and by a complementary likelihood-based approach. The resulting post-trial p-value is 3.0% (2.2σ in the two-sided convention), possibly indicating a correlation. Additionally, a time-dependent analysis is performed to search for temporal clustering of neutrino candidates as a mean of detecting neutrino flares in blazars. None of the investigated sources alone reaches a significant flare detection level. However, the presence of 18 sources with a pre-trial significance above 3σ indicates a p = 1.4% (2.5σ in the two-sided convention) detection of a time-variable neutrino flux. An a posteriori investigation reveals an intriguing temporal coincidence of neutrino, radio, and γ-ray flares of the J0242+1101 blazar at a p = 0.5% (2.9σ in the two-sided convention) level. Altogether, the results presented here suggest a possible connection of neutrino candidates detected by the ANTARES telescope with radio-bright blazars. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. We characterize when two conic curved creases are compatible with each other, when the rule lines must converge to conic foci and reflect at the crease. Namely, two conics are compatible (can be connected by rule segments in a foldable curved crease pattern) if and only if they have equal or reciprocal eccentricity. Thus, circles (eccentricity 0) and parabolas (eccentricity 1) are compatible with only themselves (when scaled from a focus), and ellipses (eccentricity strictly between 0 and 1) and hyperbolas (eccentricity above 1) are compatible with themselves and each other (but only in specific pairings). The foundation of this result is a general condition relating any two curved creases connected by rule segments. We also use our characterization to analyze several curved crease designs. The identification of cosmic objects emitting high energy neutrinos could provide new insights about the Universe and its active sources. The existence of these cosmic neutrinos has been proven by the IceCube collaboration, but the big question of which sources these neutrinos originate from, remains unanswered. The KM3NeT detector for Astroparticle Research with Cosmics in the Abyss (ARCA), with a cubic kilometer instrumented volume, is currently being built in the Mediterranean Sea. It will excel at identifying cosmic neutrino sources due to its unprecedented angular resolution for muon neutrinos (◦ for E > 10 TeV neutrinos). KM3NeT has a view of the sky complementary to IceCube, and is sensitive to neutrinos across a wide range of energies. In order to identify the signature of cosmic neutrino sources in the background of atmospheric neutrinos and muons, statistical methods are being developed and tested with Monte-Carlo pseudo-experiments. In human-centered intelligent building, real-time measurements of human thermal comfort play critical roles and supply feedback control signals for building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Due to the challenges of intra- and inter-individual differences and skin subtleness variations, there is no satisfactory solution for thermal comfort measurements until now. In this paper, a non-invasive measuring method based on skin sensitivity index and deep learning (NISDL) was proposed to measure real-time skin temperature. A new evaluating index, named skin sensitivity index (SSI), was defined to overcome individual differences and skin subtleness variations. To illustrate the effectiveness of SSI proposed, two multi-layers deep learning framework (NISDL method I and II) was designed and the DenseNet201 was used for extracting features from skin images. The partly personal saturation temperature (NIPST) algorithm was use for algorithm comparisons. Another deep learning algorithm without SSI (DL) was also generated for algorithm comparisons. Finally, a total of 1.44 million image data was used for algorithm validation. The results show that 55.6180% and 52.2472% error values (NISDL method I, II) are scattered at [0 °C, 0.25 °C), and the same error intervals distribution of NIPST is 35.3933%. The KM3NeT/ORCA is a next-generation neutrino detector currently under construction in the Mediterranean Sea. There are currently 6 Detection Units deployed, and in the past year the detector has been steadily taking data. Here the first neutrino oscillation measurement is presented using data taken with the ORCA detector 6 Detection Units, containing 354.6 days of exposure. Selection criteria are discussed, followed by a neutrino oscillation analysis. In the analysis it is found that oscillations are preferred with a confidence level of 5.9 σ over "no oscillations". Likelihood scans of the Δm312 and sin2 θ23 parameter also show a strong exclusion of the no oscillation hypothesis. The sensitivity contour in (sin2 θ23, Δm312) is presented, showing results that are approaching to being being competitive with other experiments [1]. © Copyright owned by the author(s).

The Pongkor post-mining area is designated as one of the ecotourism areas in Bogor. This area has biodiversity of flora and fauna. This study aims to: (1) analysis the importance value index (IVI) of flora types; (2) analysis species richness index, species diversity index, and relative species abundance index; (3) analysis the beauty, the uniqueness and the rarity of the flora and fauna types. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive. Based on the identification results, 185 species of flora are distributed in this region. During the rainy season, 15 species of herpetofauna were identified, 32 types of aves, and 4 types of mammals, while in the dry season 19 species of herpetofauna were identified, 23 types of aves, and 2 types of mammals. Based on the results of the analysis conducted on these flora and fauna, there are flora species that have high IVI values and some beautiful and unique flora species that are in the category of endangered species. Besides that, there are also fauna species which have a value of species richness index, species diversity index, and relative species abundance index, as well as some beautiful, unique, and fauna species that are in the category of endangered species.

KM3NeT/ARCA is a Cherenkov neutrino telescope under construction in the Mediterranean sea, optimised for the detection of astrophysical neutrinos with energies above ∼1 TeV. In this work, using Monte Carlo simulations including all-flavour neutrinos, the integrated and differential sensitivities for KM3NeT/ARCA are presented considering the case of a diffuse neutrino flux as well as extended and point-like neutrino sources. This analysis is applied to Starburst Galaxies demonstrating that the detector has the capability of tracing TeV neutrinos from these sources. Remarkably, after eight years, a hard power-law spectrum from the nearby Small Magellanic Cloud can be constrained. The sensitivity and discovery potential for NGC 1068 is also evaluated showing that KM3NeT/ARCA will discriminate between different astrophysical components of the measured neutrino flux after 3 years of data taking. © 2024, CC BY.
