A 4-Port Broadband High-Isolated MIMO Antenna for Wireless Communication

This article proposes a versatile Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna designed for contemporary wireless systems spanning frequencies from 3 to 20 GHz. It serves applications such as 5G mobile, WiFi, WiFi-6E, X-band, partial Ku, and K-band. The original single-element antenna evolves into a 4 × 4 MIMO configuration with optimized ground plane modifications for enhanced performance. A decoupling structure achieves over 20 dB isolation between inter-elements. The feeding structure, featuring a gradually changing design connected to the antenna’s radiating structure, achieves wide bandwidth characteristics. This is further improved by a partial ground structure and slots on the radiating element. The lower frequency band of 3 to 7 GHz is attained with a rectangle-shaped radiator, while semi-circular microstrip lines atop the radiator enable the higher frequency bands of 8 to 15.4 and 18.7 to 20 GHz. The slots and ground structure enhance impedance bandwidth, and semicircles improve the radiation pattern. The MIMO antenna demonstrates measured peak gains of 6.23 dBi at 11.5 GHz, maintaining a radiation efficiency exceeding 80%. Validation through metrics like ECC, DG, CCL, and TARC confirms strong agreement between simulated and experimental results, positioning the MIMO antenna as a robust choice for various wireless communication applications. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. Insider threats, one of the most challenging cyber threats, often result in significant organizational losses. This study explores the correlation between suspicious users and job roles vulnerable to insider threats. The research highlights that users with higher access privileges are more exposed to potential insider attacks. K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) and hierarchical clustering, implemented using Weka, were employed to detect suspicious activity and group users by their roles. Based on a comparison of successive months, an overall accuracy value of 0.85 was obtained. By monitoring for suspicious changes in their cluster over time, we were able to identify 80% of insider threats with the ITAdmin job. The results revealed that many users exhibiting abnormal activities held IT admin roles, indicating that those with the highest access permissions are more prone to insider threats. This study addresses a gap in understanding the relationship between excessive access permissions and security risks. © 2024 IEEE.

In the past few years, image processing has been widely adopted for symptom diagnosis of medical application. To achieve accurate analysis, the medical applications require high quality image for applying to the symptom diagnosis applications. However, the medical image quality may drop due to the imperfection of devices and the environment. Noise is one of the most critical factors that reduces the image quality where the noise may form by combining two types of noises. In this paper, we considered four well-known mixed noise filters including TF, BM3D, NCSR and OSBF filters. Since the OSBF filter is the alternative version of SBF filter that requires to determine the optimal weights, therefore we first determine the optimal weights for the medical image under the combination of Gaussian noise and salt-and-pepper noise. Then, we evaluate the filtering performance under three metrics including PSNR, SSIM and filtering time. As a result, OSBF filter achieves the best filtering performance since it can reduce the noise effect, preserve image details and consumes the short filtering time. On the other hand, the filtering performance of the TF filter suffers from the combining of salt-and-pepper noise. © 2024 IEEE.

Ocular illnesses present a considerable risk to worldwide public health, frequently resulting in visual impairment or blindness if not identified and addressed appropriately. This study focuses on the essential task of automated identification of eye diseases via convolutional neural network (CNN) models. With the increasing availability of digital retinal imaging data, there is a critical need for precise and efficient diagnostic tools to aid healthcare personnel in identifying common eye diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and normal eye conditions. The majority of eye disease diagnoses now occur through manual examination by ophthalmologists, which can be laborious and prone to inter-observer variability. By leveraging CNN architectures like VGG19, VGG16, ResNet18, and ResNet50, we propose a robust framework for automated eye disease detection. Our methods involve preprocessing retinal images, training CNN models on labeled datasets, and evaluating their performance on unseen data. Our results showcase high classification accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity across all disease categories. Specifically, our models achieved an accuracy of 92% for VGG19, 91% for VGG16, 87% for ResNet18, and 85% for ResNet50. The findings offer a promising solution to streamline the diagnostic process and improve access to timely eye care services. Integrating this CNN-based system into clinical workflows can expedite diagnosis, enable early intervention, and prevent vision loss, contributing to advancements in computer-aided diagnosis systems and enhancing efficiency in medical imaging analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates the torque pulsations issue during magnetization in variable flux memory motors for traction applications. The paper proposes an algorithm to mitigate these torque pulsations and their resultant speed fluctuations. In normal saliency (Lp > Ld) variable-flux motors, and during demagnetization events, the reluctance torque is positive. This aids the magnet torque, causing an increase in motor speed. In contrast, during remagnetization events, the reluctance torque is negative, which results in an abrupt decrease in torque and motor speed. In this instance, the speed controller increases the q-axis current command to increase the speed to its reference value. This further decreases the motor torque during the pulse time. During remagnetization events, there are two instances where the developed electromagnetic torque goes to zero. This is because, at these two moments, the rotor flux linkage and the stator flux linkage are equal and opposite to each other. A control algorithm based on a q-axis current adjustment is proposed to mitigate the torque pulsations during magnetization processes. The torque pulsation issue and the proposed mitigation algorithm are illustrated via simulation and validated experimentally on a seven-horsepower series-hybrid variable-flux memory motor. © 2024 IEEE.

The security of integrated circuits is crucial due to their wide range of applications in modern gadgets. An unauthorized access (i.e., third-party access) or a security breach in the logic-locked system can pose a great threat to user privacy, thus leading to data theft and misusing the user data. Several logic locking methods have been proposed, but with the advancements of technology, the latest attack techniques can easily crack those existing locking techniques. Thus, in this research paper we have proposed a sensor-based methodology to detect the unauthorized access with microswitch and UART. In a globalized world where the security of logic-locked systems is really important, this paper empathizes with UART-based mechanisms as a practical solution. By focusing on the existing logic locking methodologies, this paper contributes to the ongoing security efforts for a secured logic locked system. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper proposes a gain design strategy for an active damping controller in a mono-inverter dual parallel (MIDP) permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) drive system. Dual motors are connected in parallel with a single inverter. One motor is chosen as a master motor which is the main controlled motor and the other motor is chosen as a slave motor which is controlled simultaneously with a master motor. Since a single inverter controls two motors in a MIDP system, torque oscillation occurs in the slave motor. Therefore, an active damping controller that regulates torque oscillations is required. This paper provides a design strategy for a gain of an active damping controller. The performance of the proposed design strategy for a MIDP PMSMs drive system is verified by simulation results with two 500-W PMSMs. © 2024 IEEE.

Manipulating objects is a hallmark of human intelligence, and an important task in domains such as robotics. In principle, Reinforcement Learning (RL) offers a general approach to learn object manipulation. In practice, however, domains with more than a few objects are difficult for RL agents due to the curse of dimensionality, especially when learning from raw image observations. In this work we propose a structured approach for visual RL that is suitable for representing multiple objects and their interaction, and use it to learn goal-conditioned manipulation of several objects. Key to our method is the ability to handle goals with dependencies between the objects (e.g., moving objects in a certain order). We further relate our architecture to the generalization capability of the trained agent, based on a theoretical result for compositional generalization, and demonstrate agents that learn with 3 objects but generalize to similar tasks with over 10 objects. Headaches are the most prevalent medical condition in the globe. The migraine is one of the various types of headaches. Along with their excruciating headaches, migraineurs often have nausea, vomiting fits, and light and sound sensitivities. Individuals have unique symptoms, some of which may be more intense than others. A migraine episode is about to begin when an aura, a symptom, appears. Based on the nature of symptoms, migraines can be divided into two basic categories: aura-producing and aura-less. Every individual has different triggers for migraine. This study provides an overview of the state-of-the-art deep learning and machine learning techniques for migraine identification.
