The electrical power transmission lines play a crucial role in maintaining a continuous electricity supply. However, the exposed environment of these lines increases the risks of faults occurrence, necessitating prompt detection, and classification, to eliminate them within a specified time. In light of this, the present study introduces a methodology for the detection and classification of faults in a three-phase transmission line system employing the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM). A 220 kV, 300 km three-phase transmission line system was simulated in MATLAB/Simulink software, where the current and voltage signals were generated under different fault conditions including fault types, fault inception time, and fault resistance. The fundamental components of these signals were used as inputs in the ELM model. Different shunt fault types, including line-to-ground, line-to-line, double-line-to-ground, triple-line, and triple-line-to-ground were applied for fault detection and classification framework. Furthermore, the optimum number of hidden neurons in the ELM model was investigated in this study. In terms of the Mean Squared Error (MSE) and correlation coefficient, four ELM variants based on Sine, Sigmoid, Radial Basis, and Triangular Basis transfer functions were assessed for each module. The outcome of these metrics indicates that the ELM with the sigmoid model demonstrated superior performance compared to the other ELM models. Based on statistical metrics MSE, Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and also the computational time, the efficiency of ELM-Sigmoid and state-of-the-art methods of Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network (MLPNN) and Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) were compared and analyzed during training and testing phases. The results obtained revealed that the ELM-Sigmoid model outperforms the other models in the detection and classification of shunt faults with significant accuracy and fast computational speed. ©

This work is part of the on-going EU-project FliPASED, wherein flight tests using a UAV demonstrator (T-FLEX) and a multi-disciplinary optimization (MDO) exercise involving the aeroservoelastic optimization of UAV demonstrator and commercial-scale aircraft wings are performed. In this paper, several potential flow methods have been applied to estimate induced drag of the T-FLEX aircraft, followed by solving an optimization problem to minimize it using the control surfaces on the wings. The results from this study were used in the retrofit design of a pair of manufactured wings - the number and position of the control surfaces and the wing selection. In a next step, the developed tools will form the basis for a controller that will minimize induced drag, which will be tested on the T-FLEX testbed. The developed tools and the validated results will also be used within a broader MDO task involving optimization studies on a commercial short/medium range aircraft. © 2023, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA. The functional structure of the problem-oriented software complex for solving the problem of designing a technological scheme for the multi-product processes for the synthesis of ozone-safe chladones is presented in the article. The inclusion of a customizable relational database of chladone characteristics in the software complex allows selecting equipment (working volumes of reactors) to form a production flow chart based on specified criteria (productivity, energy consumption, output concentrations of the target and by-products, etc.). The mathematical models library is the basis of the software complex. Mathematical models allow performing verification calculations of various reactors for the synthesis of a wide range of chladones in accordance with the technical specification. The advantage of the software complex is the ability to analyze the effect of contact time and process temperature on the output concentrations of by-products and target products with different compositions of the initial reaction mixture. The use of the software complex allows increasing the efficiency of designing chladones synthesis processes by reducing the time spent on selecting the hardware design of processes that ensure high conversion of raw materials and the required selectivity of processes for the target component.

Secure-by-Construction controller Synthesis via control Barrier Functions

In this paper, we propose a secure-by-construction scheme for synthesizing controllers to enforce safety and security properties simultaneously over control systems. As a key insight, we establish a bridge between the desired safety and security properties by leveraging notions of (augmented) control barrier functions. Based on these functions, we show that one can synthesize secure-by-construction controllers for control systems with continuous state and input sets. Additionally, we provide sum-of-square (SOS) conditions under which the desired (augmented) control barrier functions can be constructed. Finally, we demonstrate the applicability of our results on a case study.

A frequent cause of violation of the noise immunity of modern electronic means are microsecond, nanosecond impulse interferences on the power supply network or dynamic voltage changes. These tasks are especially relevant for the elements of control systems of energy facilities. The paper considers the types of interference in the power supply network of electronic means. An analysis of the propagation of impulse noise has been carried out. Models have been developed and an analysis of the functioning of digital elements under the influence of interference through the power supply port has been carried out. The typical areas of functioning of electronic means are singled out depending on the amplitude and duration of interference in the power supply network. Methods for increasing the noise immunity of electronic means under the influence of interference through the power supply are considered. © 2022 IEEE.

The paper describes the process of the information objects classification in e-learning systems using the mathematical background of fuzzy logic. This approach can be used to improve the process of searching and organizing information in e-learning systems. As the volume of educational materials grows, it becomes more and more difficult to find and structure information. Fuzzy logic helps to optimize the search, and the use of a neural network can correctly classify materials in e-learning systems, which increases the efficiency and accuracy of search queries. © 2023 IEEE.

Object pose refinement is essential for robust object pose estimation. Previous work has made significant progress to-wards instance-level object pose refinement. Yet, category-level pose refinement is a more challenging problem due to large shape variations within a category and the discrep-ancies between the target object and the shape prior. To address these challenges, we introduce a novel architecture for category-level object pose refinement. Our approach in-tegrates an HS-Iayer and learnable affine transformations, which aims to enhance the extraction and alignment of Geometric information. Additionally, we introduce a cross-cloud transformation mechanism that efficiently merges di-verse data sources. Finally, we push the limits of our model by incorporating the shape prior information for translation and size error prediction. We conducted extensive ex-periments to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework. Through extensive quantitative experiments, we demonstrate significant improvement over the baseline method by a large margin across all metrics. 1 1 Project page: https://***/***

The article discusses the development of a system that provides more throughput up to 40 Gbit instead of 10 Gbit using the TWDM-PON (Time and Wavelength Division-Multiplexed Passive Optical Network) system, which was chosen by the international companies FSAN (Full-Service Access Network) and the ITU-T (Telecommunication Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunication Union) group. This system uses the time and frequency division of channels. In this article, this system is developed, and its operation is simulated at a distance of 40 km and with data transfer up to 40 Gbit/s. Also, the system was optimized and the optimal bandwidths for the optical and electrical filters were selected, as well as the optical power of the laser, etc. © 2022 IEEE.
