INTRODUCTION: Cloud computing, a still emerging technology, allows customers to pay for services based on usage. It provides internet-based services, whilst virtualization optimizes a PC’s available resources. OBJECTIVES: The foundation of cloud computing is the data center, comprising networked computers, cables, electricity components, and various other elements that host and store corporate data. In cloud data centers, high performance has always been a critical concern, but this often comes at the cost of increased energy consumption. METHODS: The most problematic factor is reducing power consumption while maintaining service quality and performance to balance system efficiency and energy use. Our proposed approach requires a comprehensive understanding of energy usage patterns within the cloud environment. RESULTS: We examined power consumption trends to demonstrate that with the application of the right optimization principles based on energy consumption models, significant energy savings can be made in cloud data centers. During the prediction phase, tablet optimization, with its 97 % accuracy rate, enables more accurate future cost forecasts. CONCLUSION: Energy consumption is a major concern for cloud data centers. To handle incoming requests with the fewest resources possible, given the increasing demand and widespread adoption of cloud computing, it is essential to maintain effective and efficient data center strategies. © (2024) Panigrahi, B.S. et al., licensed to EAI. The surrounding environmental and climatic conditions have a significant impact on the utilisation of ecosystem services for recreational purposes. Climate change poses a threat to future natural leisure opportunities because of this reliance. The way society functions is being challenged by climate change and significant adaptation will probably be needed to deal with future changes in weather patterns. Machine learning (ML) methods have advanced to the point that they are now being offered as a tool to support climate studies, in addition to being the source of advances in other fields of study. This research proposes a novel technique in marine life ecosystem–based climate change detection using deep learning model. Input is collected as climate change detection–based marine life ecosystem and processed for noise removal with normalisation. Then this data has been segmented and classified using watershed semantic fuzzy component analysis with quantile shrinkage convolutional regression model. The experimental analysis has been carried out in terms of training accuracy, specificity, recall, AUC and NSE. Suggested technique achieved training accuracy 98%, specificity 96%, NSE 45%, recall 95% and AUC 97%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

A complicated neuro-developmental disorder called Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is abnormal activities related to brain development. ASD generally affects the physical impression of the face as well as the growth of the brain in children. An early and proper medical diagnosis is essential for ASD affected children to enhance their quality of life. However, the clinical detection of ASD is a difficult task and time-consuming, hence it is essential to design an ASD detection approach for precise diagnosis of ASD children. In this research, an algorithmic approach called Fractional Tasmanian Rat Swarm Optimization driven SqueezeNet (FTRSO-SqueezeNet) is designed for the detection of ASD. The median filter and Region of Interest (RoI) extraction are used to de-noise the input image initially and extract a particular region from the filtered image. Later, the nub regions are extracted by choosing the optimal grid from the pre-processed image and using different feature extractors the features from the input images are determined. Finally, the detection of ASD is done by using SqueezeNet, which is trained using the FTRSO approach. The performance of the method is estimated, where the designed model achieved higher performance with an accuracy of 94.55%, sensitivity of 92.53%, and specificity of 95.22% than other prevailing approaches. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Cloud computing (CC) is a cost-effective platform for users to store their data on the internet rather than investing in additional devices for storage. Data deduplication (DD) defines a process of eliminating redundant data in the cloud by leaving a single copy. This paper provides a hybrid encryption scheme using genetic algorithm (GA) and attribute-based encryption (ABE) to ensure secure data transmission in the cloud and preventing the data deduplication by using message locked encryption (MLE). The hybrid encryption scheme provides a secure data transmission in the cloud. From the simulation output, the time requirement is reduced up to 94% and consumes 43% bandwidth compared with existing works. The proposed method tends to be quite effective in reducing storage and bandwidth costs. Copyright © 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Computation of Graph Fourier Transform Centrality Using Graph Filter

In this paper, the computation of graph Fourier transform centrality (GFTC) of complex network using graph filter is presented. For conventional computation method, it needs to use the non-sparse transform matrix of graph Fourier transform (GFT) to compute GFTC scores. To reduce the computational complexity of GFTC, a linear algebra method based on Frobenius norm of error matrix is applied to convert the spectral-domain GFTC computation task to vertex-domain one such that GFTC can be computed by using polynomial graph filtering method. There are two kinds of designs of graph filters to be studied. One is the graph-aware method;the other is the graph-unaware method. The computational complexity comparison and experimental results show that the proposed graph filter method is more computationally efficient than conventional GFT method because the sparsity of Laplacian matrix is used in the implementation structure. Finally, the centrality computations of social network, metro network and sensor network are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed GFTC computation method using graph filter. © 2020 IEEE.

Automated reading of license plate and its detection is a crucial component of the competent transportation system. Toll payment and parking management e-payment systems may benefit from this software’s features. License plate detection and identification algorithms abound, and each has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. computer vision has advanced rapidly in terms of new breakthroughs and techniques thanks to the emergence and proliferation of deep learning principles across several branches of AI. The practice of automating the monitoring process in traffic management, parking management, and police surveillance has become much more effective thanks to the development of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR). Even though license plate recognition (LPR) is a technology that is extensively utilized and has been developed, there is still a significant amount of work to be done before it can achieve its full potential. In the last several years, there have been substantial advancements in both the scientific community’s methodology and its level of efficiency. In this era of deep learning, there have been numerous developments and techniques established for LPR, and the purpose of this research is to review and examine those developments and approaches. In light of this, the authors of this study suggest a four-stage technique to automated license plate detection and identification (ALPDR), which includes, image pre-processing, license plate extraction, character segmentation, and character recognition. And the first three phases are known as "extraction," "preprocessing," and "segmentation," and each of these processes has been shown to benefit from its own unique technique. Thoracic-net: Explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) based few shots learning feature fusion technique for multi-classifying thoracic diseases using medical imaging

Background & Need: The early detection of thoracic diseases and COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) significantly limits propagation and increases therapeutic outcomes. This article focuses on swiftly distinguishing COVID-19 patients with 10 chronic thoracic illnesses from healthy examples. The death rates of COVID-19-confirmed patients are rising due to chronic thoracic illnesses. Method: To identify thoracic illnesses (Consolidation, Tuberculosis, Edema, Fibrosis, Hernia, Mass, Nodule, Plural-thickening, Pneumonia, Healthy) from X-ray images with COVID-19, we provide an ensemble-feature-fusion (FFT) deep learning (DL) model. 14,400 chest X-ray images (CXRI) of COVID-19 and other thoracic illnesses were obtained from five public sources and applied UNet-based data augmentation. High-quality images were intended to be provided under the CXR standard. To provide model parameters and feature extractors, four deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with a proprietary CapsNet as the backbone were employed. To generate the ensemble-fusion classifiers, we suggested five additional USweA (Unified Stacking weighted Averaging)-based comparative ensemble models as an alternative to depending solely on the findings of the single base model. Additionally, USweA enhanced the models' performance and reduced the base error-rate. USweA models were knowledgeable of the principles of multiple DL evaluations on distinct labels. Results: The results demonstrated that the feature-fusion strategy performed better than the standalone DL models in terms of overall classification effectiveness. According to study results, Thoracic-Net significantly improves COVID-19 context recognition for thoracic infections. It achieves superior results to existing CNNs, with a 99.75% accuracy, 97.89% precision, 98.69% recall, 98.27% F1-score, shallow 28 CXR zero-one loss, 99.27% ROC-AUC-score, 1.45% error rate, 0.9838 MCC, (0.98001, 0.99076) 95% CI, and 5.708 s to test individual CXR. The skin acts as an important barrier between the body and the external environment, playing a vital role as an organ. The application of deep learning in the medical field to solve various health problems has generated increasing interest. The objective of this research is to create a new model using a deep network with multi-feature fusion that enables accurate identification of various skin diseases. This paper proposes a fully fused network (FFN), which includes an improved single block (ISB) and an improved fusion block (IFB) to achieve optimal performance. To implement this, a convolutional neural network-based model for multi-class recognition of skin images has been developed, in which ISB is used to segment diseases in skin images. The IFB module is designed to enhance the effectiveness of the fused network. The model is built and evaluated using our proprietary dataset (Skin_disease_v1) along with publicly available datasets, namely ISIC2016, ISIC2017, and HAM10000. The highest accuracy achieved in experiments was 86% for ISB, 90% for IFB, and 92% for FFN using HAM10000 (for ResNet101V2), HAM10000 (for Resnet50 + ResNet101V2), and HAM10000 (for Resnet50 + ResNet101V2). This shows an accuracy improvement of 9.2%, 13.2%, and 15.2% compared to the state-of-the-art ISB, IFB, and FFN approaches, respectively. Existing deep learning-based point cloud denoising methods are generally trained in a supervised manner that requires clean data as ground-truth ***,in practice,it is not always feasible to obtain clean point *** this paper,we introduce a novel unsupervised point cloud denoising method that eliminates the need to use clean point clouds as groundtruth labels during *** demonstrate that it is feasible for neural networks to only take noisy point clouds as input,and learn to approximate and restore their clean *** particular,we generate two noise levels for the original point clouds,requiring the second noise level to be twice the amount of the first noise *** this,we can deduce the relationship between the displacement information that recovers the clean surfaces across the two levels of noise,and thus learn the displacement of each noisy point in order to recover the corresponding clean *** experiments demonstrate that our method achieves outstanding denoising results across various datasets with synthetic and real-world noise,obtaining better performance than previous unsupervised methods and competitive performance to current supervised methods.

Bidirectional Legendre memory unit: bidirectional memory for person authentication combining voice and online signature

With the increasing popularity of smart portable electronic gadgets, voice-based online person verification systems have become prevalent. However, these systems are susceptible to attacks where illegitimate individuals exploit the recorded voices of legitimate users, leading to false confirmations—spoofing attacks. To overcome this limitation, this article presents an innovative solution by combining speech and online handwritten signatures to mitigate the risks associated with spoofing attacks in voice-based authentication systems because a person has to be present in front of the system to produce an online handwritten signature. To accomplish this objective, this work proposes a novel bidirectional Legendre memory unit (BLMU), a type of recurrent neural network (RNN), for person authentication (verification) and recognition. The Legendre memory unit (LMU) is an innovative memory cell for RNNs that efficiently retains temporal/non-temporal sequential information over a long period with minimal resources. It achieves information orthogonalization by solving coupled ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and leveraging Legendre polynomials, ensuring effective data representation. The proposed framework for person authentication and recognition comprises seven convolution layers, four BLMU layers, two dense layers, and one output layer. The performance of the proposed BLMU-based deep learning framework has been evaluated on a self-generated/private dataset of combined feature matrix of voice signals and online handwritten signatures in the Devanagari script. To assess performance, experiments have also been conducted using various RNN architectures, such as LSTM, BLSTM, and ordinary differential equation recurrent neural network (ODE-RNN), to have a performance comparison with the proposed BLMU-based deep learning (DL) framework.
