During software evolution, it is advocated that test code should co-evolve with production code. In real development scenarios, test updating may lag behind production code changing, which may cause compilation failure or bring other troubles. Existing techniques based on pre-trained language models can be directly adopted to repair obsolete tests caused by such unsynchronized code changes, especially syntactic-related ones. However, the lack of task-oriented contextual information affects the repair accuracy on large-scale projects. Starting from an obsolete test, the key challenging task is precisely identifying and constructing Test-Repair-Oriented Contexts (TROCtxs) from the whole repository within a limited token *** this paper, we propose Synter (SYNtactic-breaking- changes-induced TEst Repair), a novel approach based on LLMs to automatically repair obsolete test cases via precise and concise TROCtxs construction. Inspired by developers’ programming practices, we design three types of TROCtx: class context, usage context, and environment context. Given an obsolete test case to repair, Synter firstly collects the related code information for each type of TROCtx through static analysis techniques automatically. Then, it generates reranking queries to identify the most relevant TROCtxs, which will be taken as the repair-required key contexts and be input to the large language model for the final test *** evaluate the effectiveness of Synter, we construct a benchmark dataset that contains a set of obsolete tests caused by syntactic breaking changes. The experimental results show that Synter outperforms baseline approaches both on textual- and intent-matching metrics. With the augmentation of constructed TROCtxs, hallucinations are reduced by 57.1%.

The rapid development and usage of digital technologies in modern intelligent systems and applications bring critical challenges on data security and privacy. It is essential to allow cross-organizational data sharing to achieve smart service provisioning, while preventing unauthorized access and data leak to ensure end users' efficient and secure collaborations. Federated Learning (FL) offers a promising pathway to enable innovative collaboration across multiple organizations. However, more stringent security policies are needed to ensure authenticity of participating entities, safeguard data during communication, and prevent malicious activities. In this paper, we propose a Decentralized Federated Graph Learning (FGL) with Lightweight Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) model, named DFGL-LZTA, to provide context-aware security with dynamic defense policy update, while maintaining computational and communication efficiency in resource-constrained environments, for highly distributed and heterogeneous systems in next-generation networking. Specifically, with a re-designed lightweight ZTA, which leverages adaptive privacy preservation and reputation-based aggregation together to tackle multi-level security threats (e.g., data-level, model-level, and identity-level attacks), a Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) based Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) agent is introduced to enable the real-time and adaptive security policy update and optimization based on contextual features. A hierarchical Graph Attention Network (GAT) mechanism is then improved and applied to facilitate the dynamic subgraph learning in local training with a layer-wise architecture, while a so-called sparse global aggregation scheme is developed to balance the communication efficiency and model robustness in a P2P manner. The development of the Internet has led to information overload, and how to filter and sift information is a rigorous requirement in all fields. In response to this challenge, recommendation systems have emerged as a valuable tool, offering personalized content and services by efficiently searching and processing dynamically generated information. For students applying to grad schools, finding relevant information can be time-consuming and unreliable from official websites or forums. In light of these challenges, we present a novel solution in the form of an application recommendation platform. Our proposed platform leverages specific open-source datasets and real-time information from platform users using KNN (K-Nearest Neighbor) and CF (Collaborative Filtering) techniques to provide recommendations based on users’ individual backgrounds, we aim to reduce the complexity inherent in information retrieval while simultaneously enhancing the relevance of the recommendations delivered to users. Specifically, we first collect user behavior data, then we will construct the data model and perform some preprocessing on it. Calculate the user similarity, and find out the K-nearest neighbors and rate based on K-nearest neighbors, finally, the recommendation engine is used to calculate the highest-rated items to be recommended to the users. © ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2024.

RFID technology offers an affordable and user-friendly solution for contactless identification of objects and individuals. However, the widespread adoption of RFID systems raises concerns regarding security and privacy. Vulnerabilities such as message tampering, interception, and eavesdropping pose significant risks to the integrity of the system. This study examines the effectiveness of two recently proposed ultra-lightweight RFID authentication protocols, URASP and KUAJB, in addressing these security challenges. Surprisingly, our findings reveal that both URASP and KUAJB protocols are susceptible to secret disclosure attacks, despite their claims of providing robust security. Consequently, the development of a truly ultra-lightweight protocol that ensures adequate security becomes a formidable task. As a potential solution, the enhancement of the URASP protocol through the integration of a simple cryptographic primitive is suggested to bolster its security measures. © 2013 IEEE.

Hidden Vector Encryption (HVE) is a new kind of attribute-based encryption in which a vector is hidden in the ciphertext or linked with the secret key. In ESORICS 2014, Phuong et al. proposed an HVE scheme with constant-size ciphertext which is constructed in the prime order setting. In this paper, we show that Phuong et al.'s scheme is not vector-hiding due to public parameters in their scheme leak some information about vectors. Furthermore, an improved HVE scheme is proposed in the prime order setting and its security is proven in the security model. Comparison shows our scheme has more efficient in decryption than current other HVE schemes. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press.

Multimodal Sentiment Analysis is a burgeoning research area, leveraging various modalities to predict the sentiment score. Nevertheless, previous studies have disregarded the impact of noise interference on specific modal sentiments during video recording, thereby compromising the accuracy of sentiment prediction. In this paper, we propose the Guided Circular Decomposition and Cross-Modal Recombination (GCD-CMR) model, which aims to eliminate contaminated sentiment features in a fine-grained way. To achieve this, we utilize tailored global information specific to each modality to guide the circular decomposing process in the GCD module, to produce a set of sentiment prototypes. Subsequently, in the CMR module, we align cross-modal sentiment prototypes and remove the contaminated prototypes for recombination. Experimental results on two publicly available datasets demonstrate that our model surpasses state-of-the-art models, confirming the effectiveness of our proposed method. Existing face forgery detection methods achieve promising performance when training and testing forgery data are from identical manipulation types, while they fail to generalize well to unseen samples. In this paper, we experimentally investigate and find that the poor generalization of the methods mainly arises from their overfitting on the known fake patterns. Excessively focused on seen fakes, those detectors fail to effectively learn image-intrinsic information and the distributional disparity between real and fake images. Then, to address this issue, we redefine fake learning as real-fake distributional disparity learning. We propose a novel deepfake detection framework learning distributional disparity based on the differentiated reconstruction on real and fake images for improved generalization. Specifically, distributional disparity learning on differentiated reconstruction of the real and fake images, enforces the model to learn image-invariant intrinsic representations. The reconstruction on real and fake images forces the decoders to learn the distribution of real and fake images, respectively. Moreover, to avoid the influence from the specificalization of the known fake patterns, we further propose the information interaction learning on the encoded intrinsic information and the pixel disparity between the input image and its reconstruction to distinguish face forgeries that are even unknown. Extensive experiments on large-scale benchmark datasets demonstrated the effectiveness of addressing the overfitting issue of the classification network, and verified the superior performance of our method. As Large Language Models (LLMs) become more integrated into our daily lives, it is crucial to identify and mitigate their risks, especially when the risks can have profound impacts on human users and societies. Guardrails, which filter the inputs or outputs of LLMs, have emerged as a core safeguarding technology. This position paper takes a deep look at current open-source solutions (Llama Guard, Nvidia NeMo, Guardrails AI), and discusses the challenges and the road towards building more complete solutions. Drawing on robust evidence from previous research, we advocate for a systematic approach to construct guardrails for LLMs, based on comprehensive consideration of diverse contexts across various LLMs applications. We propose employing sociotechnical methods through collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to pinpoint precise technical requirements, exploring advanced neural-symbolic implementations to embrace the complexity of the requirements, and developing verification and testing to ensure the utmost quality of the final product.

Large scale artificial intelligence (AI) models possess excellent capabilities in semantic representation and understanding, making them particularly well-suited for semantic encoding and decoding. However, the substantial scale of these AI models imposes unacceptable computational resources and communication delays. To address this issue, we propose a semantic communication scheme based on robust knowledge distillation (RKD-SC) for large scale model enabled semantic communications. In the considered system, a transmitter extracts the features of the source image for robust transmission and accurate image classification at the receiver. To effectively utilize the superior capability of large scale model while make the cost affordable, we first transfer knowledge from a large scale model to a smaller scale model to serve as the semantic encoder. Then, to enhance the robustness of the system against channel noise, we propose a channel-aware autoencoder (CAA) based on the Transformer architecture. Experimental results show that the encoder of proposed RKD-SC system can achieve over 93.3% of the performance of a large scale model while compressing 96.67% number of parameters.
