With the characteristic that the commutativity of modular exponential function makes the specific order of secret distribution process less important and on basis of the abstruseness of discrete logarithm, this paper proposed a new secret sharing scheme. In the scheme, the participants themselves select the private keys, which can avoid the distributor's fraud and reduce the distribution's burden as well as ensure the scheme's reuse. The credible participants can join in or leave the participants collection at any time without restarting the scheme procedures.

The issue of power quality in the distribution system is always in sense of the concern. With the high penetration of distributed generation (DG) currently, it tends to be more complicated. This paper presents a new approach to evaluate impacts of the DG on power quality of the distribution network. In the process an objective function will be modeled, which will be solved by the optimization toolbox, in order to calculate the result for the evaluating grade. Furthermore, the results of the overall evaluation will be given via the eigenvalue weighted method. The power quality ranking of each feeder with the distributed generators in the distribution network will be apparent with the given weight of influence caused by DGs divided in forms of energy resource.

Satisfiability modulo theories (SMT) play a key role in verification applications. A crucial SMT problem is to combine separate theory solvers for the union of theories. In previous work, the simplex method is used to determine the solvability of constraint systems and the equalities implied by constraint systems are detected by a multitude of applications of the dual simplex method. We present an effective simplex tableau-based method to identify all implicit equalities such that the simplex method is harnessed to an irreducible minimum. Experimental results show that the method is feasible and effective.

The rapid growth of computer technologies and the advent of the World Wide Web have increased the amount and the complexity of multimedia information. A content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system has been developed as an efficient image retrieval tool, whereby the user can provide their query to the system to allow it to retrieve the user's desired image from the image database. However, the traditional relevance feedback of CBIR has some limitations that will decrease the performance of the CBIR system, such as the imbalance of training-set problem, classification problem, limited information from user problem, and insufficient training-set problem. Therefore, in this study, we proposed an enhanced relevance-feedback method to support the user query based on the representative image selection and weight ranking of the images retrieved. The support vector machine (SVM) has been used to support the learning process to reduce the semantic gap between the user and the CBIR system. From these experiments, the proposed learning method has enabled users to improve their search results based on the performance of CBIR system. In addition, the experiments also proved that by solving the imbalance training set issue, the performance of CBIR could be improved.

We introduce a 3D segmentation framework which uses principal shapes. The probabilistic energy function of the method is defined based on intensity, tissue type, and location information of the structures using a multiple atlas method. For intensity information, nonparametric probability density function is used which considers intensity relation of different structures. To find a local minimum of the energy function, a two-step optimization strategy is used. In the first step, shape parameters are optimized based on the analytic derivatives of the energy function. In the second step, shapes of the structures are fine-tuned using a level set method. The proposed method is shown to be superior to some popular methods in the literature using a dataset of 64 patients with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy. In addition, the method can be used for lateralization with accuracy close to that of manual segmentation.

This paper deals with the iterative learning control (ILC) problem for uncertain time-delay systems (TDS). In order to ensure monotonic convergence of the ILC process, a sufficient condition is developed using an H ∞ -based framework. It shows that under this framework, the convergence condition is enabled to be delay-dependent and have a formulation in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Moreover, formulas for the updating law design can be derived by directly solving LMIs. A numerical example is provided to verify that the delay-dependent condition in LMI forms is effective in producing monotonically convergent ILC algorithms.

A Magnesium Doped Layer (MDL) under the 2-DEG channel and a Drain Metal Extension (DME) are proposed to provide a new degree of freedom in the optimization between breakdown voltage (BV) and specific-onresistance (Ron-sp) in AlGaN/GaN HEMTs. The surface electric field of the proposed structure is distributed more evenly when compare to the MDL-only structure with the same dimensions. A breakdown voltage of 1390V with specific-on-resistance of 4mlicm2 was obtained with LM=lμm, a peak concentration of 8×1017cm-3, Lpd=3μm and a drift region length of 10μm. Comparing with the conventional MDL-only HEMT structure, the MDL-DME is shown to deliver comparable specific-on-resistance while featuring a 54% BV improvement without any area overhead penalty.

Oil-impregnated paper is a major type of insulation in oil-filled power transformers. In converter transformers, windings connected with converter valves have to withstand AC and DC combined voltages. This paper presented the experimental research on electrical breakdown properties of oilpaper insulation under AC-DC combined voltages. Electrical breakdown strength of oil-paper insulation specimens was measured through short-time tests under AC, DC, and AC-DC combined voltages. The combined voltages consisted of two different ratios of the AC to DC voltages. Through the constant-stress tests, the times-to-breakdown of oil-paper specimens were measured. Weibull parameters of the times-to-breakdown of specimens were estimated and the inverse power and exponential failure models of the specimens were presented.
