Sharing the hardware platform between diverse information systems to establish full cooperation among different functionalities has attracted substantial ***,broadband multifunctional integrated systems with large operating frequency ranges are challenging due to the bandwidth and computing speed restrictions of electronic ***,we report an analog parallel processor(APP)based on the silicon photonic platform that directly discretizes and parallelizes the broadband signal in the analog *** APP first discretizes the signal with the optical frequency comb and then adopts optical dynamic phase interference to reassign the analog signal into 2N parallel *** photonic analog parallelism,data rate and data volume in each sequence are simultaneously compressed,which mitigates the requirement on each parallel computing ***,the fusion of the outputs from each computing core is equivalent to directly processing broadband *** the proof-of-concept experiment,two-channel analog parallel processing of broadband radar signals and high-speed communication signals is implemented on the single photonic integrated *** bandwidth of broadband radar signal is 6 GHz and the range resolution of 2.69 cm is *** wireless communication rate of 8 Gbit/s is also *** the bandwidth and speed limitations of the single-computing core along with further exploring the multichannel potential of this architecture,we anticipate that the proposed APP will accelerate the development of powerful optoelectronic processors as critical support for applications such as satellite networks and intelligent driving.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has dramatically promoted the explosive proliferation of multi-party realtime video streaming (MRVS) services, represented by Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Different from Video-on-Demand (VoD) or live streaming, MRVS enables all-to-all realtime video communication, bringing significant challenges to service providing. First, unreliable network transmission can cause network loss, resulting in delay increase and visual quality degradation. Second, the transformation from two-party to multi-party communication makes resource scheduling much more difficult. Moreover, optimizing the overall QoE requires a global coordination, which is quite challenging given the various impact factors such as bitrate and *** this paper, we propose the SJA framework, which is, to our best knowledge, the first server-driven joint loss and bitrate adaptation framework in multi-party realtime video streaming services towards maximized QoE. We comprehensively design an appropriate QoE model for MRVS services to capture the interplay among perceptual quality, variations, bitrate mismatch, loss damage, and streaming delay. We mathematically formulate the QoE maximization problem in MRVS services. A Lyapunov-based relaxation and the SJA algorithm are further designed to address the optimization problem with close-to-optimal performance. Evaluations show that our framework can outperform the SOTA solutions by 18.4% ∼ 46.5%. © 2023 IEEE.

Model-based testing is a substantial approach that is based on and involving models. It is well known for achieving test coverage and for generating and executing test cases automatically. The main and core activity of model-based testing is the modelling activity. Models are used to explain and represent the behaviour of the product. The requirement will be translated into models and those models will be used in generating the test cases automatically in model-based testing. The modelling activity clarifies test requirement and contribute to automatic generation and execution of large test suites with tool support. Model-based testing provides numerous advantages in testing;mainly on achieving appropriate test coverage and reduce manual effort and time spent since it can execute the test cases automatically. Despite all the benefit it can provide, there are some drawbacks too. However, the challenges faced can overcome by implementing proper test modelling activity and by adopting a well-versed test management activity. Thus, in this paper, we have studied the existing testing process, the taxonomy of model-based testing and model-based testing steps and proposed an extensive lifecycle for model-based testing with detail activities and steps to be carried out in order to test and validate access control requirement for multi-tenant application. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Since the advent of decentralized financial applications based on blockchains, new attacks that take advantage of manipulating the order of transactions have emerged. To this end, order fairness protocols are devised to prevent such order manipulations. However, existing order fairness protocols adopt time-consuming mechanisms that bring huge computation overheads and defer the finalization of transactions to the following rounds, eventually compromising system performance. In this work, we present Auncel, a novel consensus protocol that achieves both order fairness and high performance. Auncel leverages a weight-based strategy to order transactions, enabling all transactions in a block to be committed within one consensus round, without cost computation and further delays. Furthermore, Auncel achieves censorship resistance by integrating the consensus protocol with the fair ordering strategy, ensuring all transactions can be ordered fairly. To reduce the overheads introduced by the fair ordering strategy, we also design optimization mechanisms, including dynamic transaction compression and adjustable replica proposal strategy. We implement a prototype of Auncel based on HotStuff and construct extensive experiments. Experimental results show that Auncel can increase the throughput by 6× and reduce the confirmation latency by 3× compared with state-of-the-art order fairness protocols.

The complexity and diversity of smart grid systems increase the likelihood of anomalies in communications between devices in the system, and how these anomalies are detected is critical to the security of the grid system. However, the distribution of traffic types in the grid is often highly unbalanced, with the total amount of normal traffic data often far outweighing the anomalous data. This imbalance compromises the effectiveness of the detection model and poses a significant threat to the overall security of the grid. This paper improves on traditional conditional generation adversarial neural networks and designs a new approach to overcome this obstacle and enhance the security of smart grid systems. In the generator part, the spatial features of the data are captured by convolutional neural networks, and the temporal features of the data are captured by gated recurrent units. By integrating these two components into the generative network, we can generate synthetic data with both temporal and spatial features, thus enhancing the minority class samples. By incorporating the augmented minority data into the training process, the proposed approach enables the detection model to understand the distribution of features of the minority anomaly samples more accurately. This improved learning accuracy translates into improved model performance, resulting in higher detection rates for previously under-represented anomalies. In addition, our approach effectively addresses the inherent bias towards traffic types with higher flows typically observed in asymmetric datasets, thus providing a more equitable and comprehensive security solution for smart grid systems.

The increasing occurrence of extreme weather events is challenging power grid operation. For extreme weather events, the system operator is responsible for estimating the power outages and scheduling the restoration resources. This paper proposes an outage evaluation framework to identify the possible unserved load profiles, vulnerable areas, and mobile energy adequacy. The outputs of an outage prediction model tool are used to generate numerous faulted line scenarios. Next, each scenario's nodal unserved load profile is obtained by solving a three-phase restoration model that considers repair crews and mobile energy resources (MERs). Then, a novel scenario clustering strategy is developed to cluster the unserved load profiles into multiple representative profiles which the system operator can focus on. Finally, case studies on a distribution system evaluate the damage caused by an extreme weather event and verify the effectiveness of the proposed scenario clustering strategy.

This paper proposes a framework called GHVC-Net that uses the graph neural network (GNN) model to approximate each solution's hypervolume contribution (HVC). GHVC-Net is permutation invariant and can handle solution sets of arbitrary size, similar to the properties of GNN. Compared to HVC-Net (i.e., a machine learning model for HVC approximation), GHVC-Net achieves better accuracy with less training time. GHVC-Net is also compared with traditional approximation methods, such as line-based and point-based methods, to demonstrate its ability to identify the solution with the smallest (largest) HVC.

Recent breakthroughs in computer vision have led to the invention of several intelligent systems in different sectors. In transportation, this advancement led to the possibility of proposing autonomous vehicles. This recent technology relies heavily on wireless sensors and Deep learning. For an autonomous vehicle to navigate safely on highways, the vehicle needs equipment to aid with detecting road anomalies such as potholes ahead of time. The massive improvement in computer vision models such as Deep Convolutional Neural networks (DCNN) or vision transformers (ViT) resulted in many success stories and tremendous breakthroughs in object detection tasks;this enabled the use of such models in different application areas. But many of the reported results are theoretical and unrealistic in real-life. Usually, the nature of these models is extensive;they are trained on High-performance computers or cloud computing environments with GPUs, which challenge their usage on edge devices. However, to come up with a light model that can fit into embedded devices, the model size has to be reduced significantly so that the performance will not be affected. Therefore, this paper proposes a lightweight model of pothole detection for an embedded device. The model achieved a state-of-the-art accuracy of 98%, with the number of parameters reduced to more than 70% compared with a deep CNN model;the model can be trained and deployed on embedded devices such as smartphones efficiently. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press. ($k,\alpha$k,α)-Coverage for RIS-Aided mmWave Directional Communication

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) offers a new way to provide controllable non line-of-sight (NLoS) propagation paths for millimeter-wave (mmWave) directional communication to overcome the performance degradation caused by line-of-sight blockage. However, current coverage models do not consider the impact of path direction difference on path's availability, which is a crucial property of mmWave directional communication network. In the article, we propose a new coverage model called $(k,\alpha)$ -coverage. A receiver is $(k,\alpha)$ -covered if it is covered by at least $k$ RISs to have $k$ different NLoS path directions and the angular separation between any two adjacent path directions is at least $\alpha$ . In this case, when the current communication direction is blocked by an obstacle, other RIS created paths are still likely to be available for transmission, which increases the robustness of mmWave directional communication. To tackle the problem of using the least number of RISs to achieve the $(k,\alpha)$ -coverage, we formally define the $(k,\alpha)$ -coverage models and propose methods to verify if the target area is $(k,\alpha)$ -covered by the given set of RISs. Then, we solve the problem under both deterministic and random RIS deployment schemes. For the deterministic deployment scheme, we derive the optimal $k$ -sided regular polygon deployment patterns and use it to achieve area $(k,\alpha)$ -coverage. An analytical performance bound on the number of RISs needed is also derived. For the random RIS deployment scheme, we derive the $(k,\alpha)$ -coverage probability under uniform and spatial-Poisson RIS distributions. Finally, extensive simulation results are provided to validate our analyses.
