Web service discovery with incorporation of web services clustering

With the rapid growth and adoption of web-based technologies, more and more service providers offer various services on the web. This can facilitate the organizations to develop business applications using web services composition over the Internet according to their business requirements. The primary requirement for developing composite web service is to discover the most relevant web service for realizing each function of the required composite web service. Finding the most relevant web service is still a challenging task. In this paper, we propose web service discovery approach that incorporates web services clustering. Clustering technique combines latent Dirichlet allocation(LDA) and k-Medoids and reduces search space for web service discovery. Web service discovery uses a match-making algorithm that utilizes WordNet database and Hungarian method to compute the semantic similarity score for a web service based on the requested query. Experimental results show that the proposed approach performs better than LDA-based approach. © 2019 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Exploring ensemble optimized voting and stacking classifiers through Cross-validation for early detection of suicidal ideation

Detecting behavioral changes associated with suicidal ideation on social media is essential yet complex. While machine learning and deep learning hold promise in this regard, current studies often lack generalizability due to single dataset reliance. Traditional embedding techniques struggle with semantic analysis,leading to challenges in achieving high accuracy models and conventional validation methods have data drift limitations. To address these challenges, this study proposes a novel evaluation approach using natural language processing across diverse platforms like Twitter and Reddit. By integrating BERT embedding, adept at handling semantic nuances, with an optimized Stacked Classifier combining different base classifiers and XGBoost as the meta-classifier, the model excels in swiftly detecting signs of suicidal ideation compared to the Voting Classifier, i.e., the combination of Decision Tree, Random Forest, Gradient Boost and XGBoost and several machine learning models. Additionally, the study explores advanced embedding techniques like MUSE and LLM, and deep learning models including Bi-LSTM, Bi-GRU, and Text-CNN for *** ensemble approach aims to create a model that is not only interpretable but also robust, reducing computational complexity and enhancing resilience against noisy data - common challenges faced in text classification tasks. Through K-fold validation, which involves partitioning the dataset into k equal-sized subsets or "folds"and training the model k times, using k-1 folds for training and one-fold for testing each time, the proposed model achieves impressive accuracy rates of 97% on Reddit and 96% on Twitter datasets, underscoring its effectiveness in identifying suicidal ideation across social media platforms. © 2024 - IOS Press. Nowadays, Cloud Computing has attracted a lot of interest from both individual users and organization. However, cloud computing applications face certain security issues, such as data integrity, user privacy, and service availability. The only better solution to such issues is to identify and prevent cyber threats before they can cause seriously harm the cloud computing system. Several methods have been suggested so far to detect the attack in cloud computing (CC), but no one method attains satisfactory results. To overwhelm these drawbacks, a Cyber Security Attack Detection using Deep Kernel Machine Learning optimized with Chaotic Invasive Weed Optimization algorithm is proposed in this paper for Cloud Computing. Here, the data is amassed from CSE-CIC-IDS2018 and Bot-IoT datasets. Subsequently, a pre-processing step involving redundancy reduction and missing value replacement for uncertainty removal is achieved through the Developed Random Forest with Local Least Squares (DRFLLS) method. By utilizing Entropy-Kurtosis based feature selection approach, the pre-processing data is given to the feature selection to identify the optimal features. The selected features are supplied to the Deep Kernel Machine Learning classifier (DK-ML), which is optimized using the Chaotic Invasive Weed Optimization algorithm (Chaotic-IWOA) for classification. This classification process classifies the data as normal or anomalous categories with anomalies encompassing, like DoS, DDoS, Theft attacks, and normal attacks. The proposed technique is activated in MATLAB. The proposed technique achieves 24.88%, 17.98%, 45.65%, 35.95% better accuracy for CSE-CIC-IDS2018 dataset, and 23.93%, 13.94%, 32.94%, and 29.04% better accuracy for Bot-IoT dataset. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

This paper introduces a simple yet effective approach for developing fuzzy logic controllers(FLCs)to identify the maximum power point(MPP)and optimize the photovoltaic(PV)system to extract the maximum power in different environmental *** propose a robust FLC with low computational complexity by reducing the number of membership functions and *** optimize the performance of the FLC,metaheuristic algorithms are employed to determine the parameters of the *** evaluate the proposed FLC in various panel configurations under different environmental *** results indicate that the proposed FLC can easily adapt to various panel configurations and perform better than other benchmarks in terms of enhanced stability,responsiveness,and power transfer under various scenarios.

Agile methodology does not formally define the role of a project manager, and the Scrum methodology distributes this role among team members. However, the success of software development projects often depends heavily on this role, so typically, one person assumes the responsibility of a project manager in Agile environments. Project managers must adapt their strategies to address the various challenges of this constantly evolving market as more companies embrace Agile approaches to improve their flexibility and responsiveness. The objective of this article is to evaluate project managers’ roles in Agile environments by examining various aspects of their responsibilities and contributions. Project managers play crucial roles in planning, organizing, and guiding teams, with a primary focus on enhancing communication, managing resources, mitigating risks, and fostering collaboration. Key insights into the role of project managers in Agile software teams will be explored through a systematic review of the literature. Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) have emerged as a transformative technology for health monitoring, leveraging sensor nodes placed on or within the human body. This paradigm offers real-time insights into physiological parameters, enabling remote healthcare applications and enhancing patient well-being. However, the WBANs bring challenges that demand innovative solutions to ensure their seamless integration into healthcare ecosystems. Secondly, trustworthiness becomes paramount in healthcare applications, where the sensitivity of health-related data necessitates secure and reliable communication. Lastly, congestion issues, arising from bandwidth constraints and concurrent data transmissions, affect the performance of WBANs, impacting data integrity, energy consumption, and quality of service. Therefore, this paper proposes a TESLDAR protocol that incorporates the proposed Jellyfish Updated Aquila Narrow ExploExpand (JUANE) method aims to address issues such as hotspot-induced thermal stress, trustworthiness concerns, and congestion challenges. The proposed algorithm incorporates Jellyfish Optimization (JFO), inspired by the adaptable movement of jellyfish, with characteristics inspired by the Aquila bird. The method's innovative integration of jellyfish and bird-inspired behaviors positions it as a promising solution for efficient route maintenance in WBANs addressing thermal, trust, and congestion challenges for enhanced reliability in healthcare monitoring applications. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Diabetic retinopathy detection by fundus images using fine tuned deep learning model

This study employs transfer learning using a fine-tuned pretrained EfficientNetB0 convolutional neural network (CNN) model to accurately detect the various stages of Diabetic Retinopathy. The training process involved utilizing three datasets: Messidor, IDRiD (Indian Diabetic Retinopathy Detection), and APTOS 2019 Blindness Detection, which collectively encompassed 5,379 fundus images. Different types of processed fundus images were fed into the model to determine the optimal pre-processing approach for stage detection in Diabetic Retinopathy. The model was assessed on the original dataset with some augmentation techniques applied. According to the training data, the model achieved a maximum accuracy of 72%. However, converting the dataset to grayscale yielded an improved accuracy of 80%. Similarly, extracting the green, red, and blue channels individually resulted in accuracies of 72%, 76%, and 73% respectively. Notably, when the green channel extracted images underwent histogram equalization, the model achieved its highest accuracy of 83%. Furthermore, the application of a Sobel filter to the red channel images led to a maximum accuracy of 51%. Finally, to determine the effectiveness of each processed image type, sensitivity and specificity measures were compared. Among all the variations, the green channel extracted images with histogram equalization demonstrated superior performance in correctly identifying the respective classes, outperforming the other approaches. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Rice spikelet’s disease detection using hybrid optimization model and optimized CNN

Rice fields all across the world are affected by spikelet sterility, often known as rice spikelet's disease. It is characterized by the improper development of spikelet’s, which lowers grain output and quality. For optimal management and the avoidance of yield losses, this disease must be discovered early. In this study, a deep learning-based approach utilizing optimization techniques was proposed for accurate segmentation and disease detection in rice crops. The research aimed to address the vulnerability of rice crops to disease attacks from seed germination to mature spikelets. The proposed model consisted of three major phases: pre-processing, segmentation, feature extraction and disease detection. Gaussian filtering was employed to preprocess the raw rice crop images, while a new hybrid Whale Customized Gravitational Optimization Algorithm was utilized for segmentation. Disease detection was performed using a hybrid deep learning model called HybridNet, which combines convolutional neural networks (CNN) with an optimized recurrent neural network (RNN) model. The dataset intended for this proposed project is sourced from the CABI PlantwisePlus Knowledge Bank. The proposed model for rice spikelet disease detection achieved high accuracy with Sensitivity (0.9269), Specificity (0.9756), and Accuracy (0.9634). This indicates that the model effectively identifies and detects diseases in rice spikelets, demonstrating its reliable performance in disease management and crop protection. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Classifying the state of knowledge-based question answering: patterns, progress, and prospects

In response to inquiries posed in natural languages, question-answering systems (QASs) produce responses. The capabilities of early QASs are limited because they were designed for certain domains. The current generation of QASs focuses on the types of inquiries that users typically enquire, the features of the data sources that are used, and the formats in which the right responses are produced. Many QASs have been developed since the 1960s when research on the subject first started. There are several cutting-edge frameworks for answering questions that can be used to categorize the QA system according to a number of criteria. The necessity for an extensive survey on QASs comes naturally in order to determine the future focus of research in this field. In this study, QASs are analyzed by the number of criteria used to categorize question-answering (QA) and provide the dimension using a variety of standards to cover all the QAS. We describe the current state of research in each QAS area and make recommendations for its future direction. Based on the dimension criteria outlined in the research methodology, research studies are chosen for additional review and comparison. Constructed some criteria to classify the QASs, we provide the classification and go over the benefits and drawbacks of each class's QAS, as well as the problems with the corresponding study. Results are detailed summarized and compared. As a result of this study, a general architecture of frameworks for QA over knowledge base (KB) is drawn in addition to the comparative analysis of systems, serving as a reference for academics working on related topics. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Utilization of Two Cross Two Switch for Bitonic Sorting Circuit

Background: The synthesis of reversible logic has gained prominence as a crucial research area, particularly in the context of post-CMOS computing devices, notably quantum computing. Objective: To implement the bitonic sorting circuit, 2x2 switch, is used. The overarching objective of implementing a reversible sorting circuit is to mitigate power consumption while promising secure communication. The successful implementation of the bitonic sorting circuit utilizing the proposed 2x2 switch is validated through simulations conducted in IBM Qiskit. Methods: This study begins by employing the control swap gate to implement a 2x2 switch, aimed at enabling concurrent computing operations within multiprocessor systems to enhance throughput. Subsequently, following the successful implementation of the 2x2 switch, the study proceeds to design a bitonic sorting circuit. Results: Bitonic sort using a 2x2 switch on the IBM Quantum Experience (IBMQ) platform via the QISKit SDK in Python 3.6. Specifically, Qiskit v0.29.0 is utilized, with OpenQASM. OpenQASM serves as the quantum assembly and instruction language. Conclusion: This work presents a methodology for constructing a 2x2 switch, utilizing a reversible control swap gate as its core component. Additionally, it demonstrates the intricate development and implementation of a bitonic sorting circuit, capitalizing on this innovative switch architecture. © 2025 Bentham Science Publishers.
