Silver nanowires (AgNWs) hold great promise for applications in wearable electronics, flexible solar cells, chemical and biological sensors, photonic/plasmonic circuits, and scanning probe microscopy (SPM) due to their unique plasmonic, mechanical, and electronic properties. However, the lifetime, reliability, and operating conditions of AgNW-based devices are significantly restricted by their poor chemical stability, limiting their commercial potentials. Therefore, it is crucial to create a reliable oxidation barrier on AgNWs that provides long-term chemical stability to various optical, electrical, and mechanical devices while maintaining their high performance. Here we report a room-temperature solution-phase approach to grow an ultra-thin, epitaxial gold coating on AgNWs to effectively shield the Ag surface from environmental oxidation. The Ag@Au core-shell nanowires (Ag@Au NWs) remain stable in air for over six months, under elevated temperature and humidity (80 °C and 100% humidity) for twelve weeks, in physiological buffer solutions for three weeks, and can survive overnight treatment of an oxidative solution (2% H2O2). The Ag@Au core-shell NWs demonstrated comparable performance as pristine AgNWs in various electronic, optical, and mechanical devices, such as transparent mesh electrodes, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrates, plasmonic waveguides, plasmonic nanofocusing probes, and high-aspect-ratio, high-resolution atomic force microscopy (AFM) probes. These Au@Ag core-shell NWs offer a universal solution towards chemically-stable AgNW-based devices without compromising material property or device performance.

PepTune: De Novo Generation of Therapeutic Peptides with Multi-Objective-Guided Discrete Diffusion

Peptide therapeutics, a major class of medicines, have achieved remarkable success across diseases such as diabetes and cancer, with landmark examples such as GLP-1 receptor agonists revolutionizing the treatment of type-2 diabetes and obesity. Despite their success, designing peptides that satisfy multiple conflicting objectives, such as target binding affinity, solubility, and membrane permeability, remains a major challenge. Classical drug development and target structure-based design are ineffective for such tasks, as they fail to optimize global functional properties critical for therapeutic efficacy. Existing generative frameworks are largely limited to continuous spaces, unconditioned outputs, or single-objective guidance, making them unsuitable for discrete sequence optimization across multiple properties. To address this, we present PepTune, a multi-objective discrete diffusion model for the simultaneous generation and optimization of therapeutic peptide SMILES. Built on the Masked Discrete Language Model (MDLM) framework, PepTune ensures valid peptide structures with bond-dependent masking schedules and penalty-based objectives. To guide the diffusion process, we propose a Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS)-based strategy that balances exploration and exploitation to iteratively refine Pareto-optimal sequences. MCTS integrates classifier-based rewards with search-tree expansion, overcoming gradient estimation challenges and data sparsity. Using PepTune, we generate diverse, chemically modified peptides optimized for multiple therapeutic properties, including target binding affinity, membrane permeability, solubility, hemolysis, and non-fouling for various disease-relevant targets. In total, our results demonstrate that MCTS-guided masked discrete diffusion is a powerful and modular approach for multi-objective sequence design in discrete state spaces. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

Digital image processing aims to improve the quality of an original image so that it can display an image that is relatively better than the original image, so as to obtain the detailed information needed for an analysis need. Quality degradation Biomedical images in computerization usually experience changes in brightness, blur, and contrast stretching. Because of the deterioration in the image quality, doctors and patients cannot obtain the information needed for analysis, therefore the need for biomedical image processing techniques with spatial domain methods to improve the quality and details of information in the image so that it helps doctors in diagnosing. Data analysis is biomedical images like X-ray images, CT-Scan (computer Tomographic Scan) images, and USG (Ultrasound Graphic) images. A focused study on improving image quality can be done with digital spatial domain image processing techniques. Digital domain image processing is digital image processing based on the manipulation of pixel values in the image directly, in the form of point processing and mask processing. Process testing for each image for Blur level is CT-scan images with a value of 0.98436, ultrasound images with a value of 0.9875, X-ray images with a value of 0.9836. This value is blur level value get near to 1 which means the image becomes clearer. The analysis results prove that the spatial domain method can clarify the object image in this study. The biomedical image quality processing model is proven to be able to improve the quality of the image that is declining due to the digitization process and assist the user in analyzing the biomedical image. © 2021 IEEE.

In this proceeding, we present polarization data of sidebands emitted from strongly driven quasiparticles, demonstrate the dependence of these data on various parameters of the external driving field, and describe the data using an analytical expression, dependent on driving field parameters and the effective Hamiltonian of the system. We propose using this method on spin-momentum locked systems, such as altermagnets, to observe and reconstruct sidebands which are influenced by the topology of individual bands.

Computational music research plays a critical role in advancing music production, distribution, and understanding across various musical styles in the world. Despite the immense cultural and religious significance, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC) chants are relatively underrepresented in computational music research. This paper contributes to this field by introducing a new dataset specifically tailored for the analysis of EOTC chants, also known as Yaredawi Zema. This work provides a comprehensive overview of a 10-hour dataset, 369 instances, creation, and curation process, including rigorous quality assurance measures. Our dataset has a detailed word-level temporal boundary and reading tone annotation along with the corresponding chanting mode label of audios. Moreover, we have also identified the chanting options associated with multiple chanting notations in the manuscript by annotating them accordingly. Our goal in making this dataset available to the public1 is to encourage more research and study of EOTC chants, including lyrics transcription, lyric-to-audio alignment, and music generation tasks. Such research work will advance knowledge and efforts to preserve this distinctive liturgical music, a priceless cultural artifact for the Ethiopian people. © 2024, CC BY.

Good air quality is very important in human health. However, air pollution has been polluted everywhere, whether in the house, in cities. This is caused by a growing industry that produces air pollution. Room air pollution and various cities will contribute to air pollution, which will cause problems for human health. This work measures the carbon monoxide level using the MQ-7 sensor and measures the air's carbon dioxide level with the CCS811 sensor and MH-Z19 sensor. All three sensors are connected to the NodeMCU ESPS266, and we call it a NodeMCU module. Tests are carried out in three rooms in the house, and then three NodeMCU modules are used so that the three modules will send data alternately. Raspberry Pi3 (RPi3) functions as a server that collects data and acquires information data from sensors. Data from the CCS811 (TCOV) sensor, MH-Z19 (co2), will be processed first with fuzzy logic rules to make decisions about CO2, which are right, moderate, nasty conditions. The process is carried out on the Raspberry Pi 3 server with MQTT using publication, customer, fuzzy logic, and broker services. The value of the sensor's measurement results can be accessed via a smartphone and provides good air control values. © 2021 IEEE.

Carbon nanotube field effect transistor (CNFET) performance is primarily influenced by a variety of characteristics, such as nanotube diameter, operating voltage, pitch, the number of tubes, dielectric constant, and contact materials. In this study, the dielectric constant and the number of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were emphasized to analyze the propagation delay and average power dissipation of basic logic gates. Zirconium dioxide (ZrO 2 ), hafnium oxide (HfO 2 ), and silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ) were used as dielectric materials. In this experiment, the Stanford CNFET model was utilized, and variable factors such as the number of CNTs and the dielectric constant $(K_{ox})$ accumulated on the nanotube gate's surface were diversified. The correlation coefficients of the delay, the average power, and the CNT numbers were also presented. Furthermore, the multi-objective genetic algorithm and the Rmethod were utilized to find the optimal K ox and the number of CNTs for minimizing the average dissipation power and the propagation delay of some logic gates designed with CNFET. For all the gates considered, the optimal number of CNTs is 4 while the dielectric constant is within the ranges of 19 to 24.

Aims this study to analyze rehabilitation exercises using sensor data embedded in smartphones is widely used to recognize human activities regularly to gain a better understanding of human behavior. However, it is rarely used to measure accelerators of patient movement in hospital wards. This paper proposes an optimized neural network-based feature extraction approach based on the Long Short Term Memory technique to recognize human activity using data from a tri-axial accelerometer. The activity to be measured is the Range of Motion for patient rehabilitation, and rehabilitation exercises are one of the most important steps for recovery. The results of the softmax regression trained on the dataset set have 1, 076, 105 records and 12 class attributes (class distribution). The experimental results on the SAR dataset show that our Long Short Term Memory-based approach is practical and successful, with an accuracy of 89.74%. © 2021 IEEE.

Emphasizing the focus on recycling and sustainability is one of the hot topics all over the world. In this work, a long, non-electrical board was transformed into an electrical board. Hence, the battery management system was created to effectively balance 18,650 cells during charge and discharge cycles as well as a wireless remote control to control the electrical long panel. To do that, the skateboard has been fitted with a brushless DC motor to drive a single wheel located on the rear truck to allow the user to use controllers for sending analog signals to drive the motor with variable speed outputs. A better battery management system has been designed to make the power system more affordable, and ecological. Moreover, hot swap battery system using 18650 interchanged Lithium-Ion battery cells has been built. Besides, it is proven that this system is more robust and reliable than the ordinary two-piece AA battery system. The new proposed system has the capability of having a large battery grid that can be rearranged to satisfy the user's needs. It allows the user to change between the speed function and the torque function.

Objectives:The difficulties in the early detection consequent to the lack of sensitive biomarkers render patients with cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)to have poor ***,sensitive and specific volatile organic compounds(VOCs)were identified in several ***,the VOC profiles in CCA are not ***,we investigated the VOC profiles in exhaled breath of CCA patients and ***:We prospectively collected exhaled breath samples from 30 consecutive patients newly diagnosed with CCA and 30 controls who did not have CCA(seven had benign biliary strictures and 23 had other medical conditions).Exhaled VOCs were identified using gas chromatography mass spectrometry Triple Quadrupoles *** of the significant differences in VOCs between cases and controls was conducted using supervised multivariate regression *** validation was performed for these VOCs in another cohort of 18 CCA patients and 22 ***:Levels of six compounds were significantly different between CCA patients and controls,namely,acetone,isopropyl alcohol,dimethyl sulfide,1,4-pentadiene,allyl methyl sulfide,and N,*** and dimethyl sulfide were independently associated with CCA as demonstrated in the multivariate *** the cut-off value of 8.59107 arbitrary unit(AU),acetone had a sensitivity and specificity of 82.1%and 75.8%,respectively,with an area under the receiving operator curve(AUROC)of 0.85 for the CCA *** level was also significantly different between cases and controls in the validation *** the same cut-off value,the sensitivity,specificity,and AUROC was 59.1%,66.7%,and 0.85,***:Breath analysis may potentially be useful for CCA diagnosis.A cohort of patients with earlystage CCA in further studies is needed to confirm the ability of exhaled VOCs for the early detection of CCA.
