The advent of high-throughput transcriptomic technologies has generated vast transcriptomic datasets, challenging current analytical methodologies with their sheer volume and complexity. The Grouping-Scoring Modeling (G-S-M) approach is one of the recent approaches that treat groups of genes (or clusters of genes) by embedding prior biological knowledge with machine learning in order to detect the most significant groups for classification tasks. The G-S-M might need to treat thousand ten thousand of groups (scoring those groups) which might affect the speed and performance of the algorithm. In response, this study introduces the Pre Scoring G-S-M model, an enhancement of the established Grouping-Scoring-Modeling (G-S-M) framework. This approach incorporates a Pre-Scoring component that leverages the Limma package for its empirical Bayes methods to optimize initial transcriptomic data evaluation through a percentage-based selection of statistically significant gene groups. aimed at reducing computational demand and streamlining feature selection, the model also addresses data redundancy by eliminating duplicate gene-disease associations. application to nine human gene expression datasets from the GEO database showed promising results. It demonstrated improvements in computational efficiency and analytical precision while reducing the number of features selected per dataset compared to the traditional G-S-M approach, without compromising accuracy. These initial findings highlight the Pre-Scoring G-S-M model's potential to enhance transcriptomic data analysis, indicating a promising direction for future bioinformatics research. © 2025 by SCITEPRESS– science and Technology Publications, Lda.

Additive manufacturing (AM) has revolutionized many industries. Directed energy deposition (DED) offers remarkable utility in size and is an effective method in terms of energy efficiency. The interaction of powder with a laser before coming in contact with the substrate helps to attain fair melting and deposition. However, there is a problem associated with non-uniformity and accumulation of metallic melt on the edges of the manufactured parts which needs to be understood. Herein, the DED process of Ti6Al4V alloy is presented. The phenomenon of recoil pressure and Marangoni actions along the single tracks of the melt pool is defined via the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. The discrete element modeling (DEM) improves the simulation model output as variable particle diameters are considered, thus mimicking the actual powder size distribution. The simulation results disclosed intricate facts about the flow dynamics of molten material under varying conditions. The stream traces and thermal gradients are evaluated to recognize the effect of laser movement on material cooling and surface tension. The material accumulation occurred at curves and borders due to cooling-induced surface tension alterations, affecting the attribute of the deposited layers. The bi-directional flow patterns are prompted by Marangoni convection and recoil pressure, causing distinct features, including lateral menisci and depression modes. The cooling rates impacted the liquid portion and dilution levels, critical for attaining optimal bonding between deposited layers and substrate. Experimental endorsement using Synchrotron X-ray imaging favored the simulation results, confirming the simulated Marangoni convection effects. This comparison highlights the efficiency of CFD models in predicting molten material behavior, offering a worthy tool for adjusting DED printing parameters. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature

Modern deep neural networks have now reached human-level performance across a variety of tasks. However, unlike humans they lack the ability to explain their decisions by showing where and telling what concepts guided them. In this work, we present a unified framework for transforming any vision neural network into a spatially and conceptually interpretable model. We introduce a spatially-aware concept bottleneck layer that projects "black-box" features of pre-trained backbone models into interpretable concept maps, without requiring human labels. In this article we will process the images obtained through nanoscale devices to obtain some physical properties of nanomaterials by using image processing techniques, numerical methods, before we do an improvement of the images obtained for a precise image high clarity and then we use numerical methods which is a method of completion through which you can get all the physical properties of samples and others, Images, which obtained through nanoscale devices as the transmission electron microscope (TEM) to obtain some physical properties of nanomaterials by using image processing techniques, numerical methods as Cubic Convolution Interpolation (CCI), We will improve the images obtained for accurate image High clarity and then we use numerical methods, which is a method of interpolation method through which you can get all the physical properties of Nano-materials, We will provide a general introduction by obtaining nanoscale images, numerical methods image-processing methods and many other important aspects of high resolution imaging, for example pictures of glycerin and other materials to illustrate a variety of as the transmission electron microscope (TEM) applications to study nanomaterials. Finally, We will obtain set of images by Nano device as the transmission electron microscope (TEM) or any other device, for samples prepared samples in diverse conditions having different physical properties, and analyzed this a set of images using some numerical technique in image processing, which starting by converting images to data file ({ast}.mathrm{dat}) using programming languages codes. Smart cities are cities that are designed to be more efficient, sustainable, and connected. As our cities grow and become more complex, it's important to find new ways to address the challenges that arise, such as security, privacy, and mobility. This is where mobile cloud computing and biometric authentication come in. Mobile cloud computing is a way to provide cloud computing services to mobile devices, which means people can access services and data from anywhere and at any time. Biometric authentication is a method of identifying people based on their unique physical or behavioral characteristics, like fingerprints, facial recognition, or voice recognition. These two technologies can be combined to create a secure and personalized environment for residents and visitors in smart cities. By using mobile devices, IoT devices, wireless sensor networks, and edge computing, we can collect real-time data that can be used for big data analytics and machine learning. This means we can optimize city services, like traffic management, waste management, or energy consumption, and enhance the quality of life for people living in smart cities. However, the use of these technologies also poses significant security and privacy risks, so it's important to design systems that are secure and privacy-preserving. This requires interdisciplinary research and collaboration between experts in different fields. In summary, mobile cloud computing and biometric authentication have the potential to transform smart cities by creating a more secure and personalized environment for residents and visitors. But we must also be mindful of the potential risks and work together to address them. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper studies the correlation between students' concentration in class and learning interest, emotional state and other influencing factors. By collecting students' classroom status data, a data set suitable for data mining is constructed. Based on the idea of Apriori algorithm, the Anaconda Navigator programming tool is used to mine the association rules of students' classroom concentration. Through data mining based on Apriori algorithm, and the association rules between students' emotional state, learning interest and other factors and in-class test scores are output. The results of strong association rules show that the better students' emotional state, learning interest and other states are, the better their classroom concentration performance is. Mining the potential influencing factors of students' classroom concentration provides valuable reference theory for students to improve classroom concentration and teachers to improve classroom teaching effect, which is helpful for teachers and students to build a more efficient classroom together in the future.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a multidrug-resistant organism with clinical significance, complicates the treatment of critically ill patients. Since traditional susceptibility testing takes at least 24 hours, timely identification and treatment are crucial in the face of rising Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). In this study, we present the development of ANTIBIOLOG, a cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) model. This model predicts P. aeruginosa antibiotic susceptibility based on patient demographics and antibiotic susceptibility testing results, using a dataset of 49 patient samples from IMS & SUM Hospital. Multinomial logistic regression was selected for dealing with multiple classes and providing probabilistic interpretations. The performance of the model is evaluated using various metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, specificity, F1 score, and MCC. Through a user-friendly web interface, it simplifies resistance prediction and guides empirical antibiotic treatment. Unlike generic tools, it focuses on P. aeruginosa and provides accurate therapy selection. ANTIBIOLOG predicted antibiotic susceptibility with a promising 77.77% accuracy. This ML-based tool enables healthcare professionals to combat multidrug-resistant P. aeruginosa infections and address AMR issues. © 2023 IEEE.

Collecting large-scale medical datasets with fully annotated samples for training of deep networks is prohibitively expensive, especially for 3D volume data. Recent breakthroughs in self-supervised learning (SSL) offer the ability to overcome the lack of labeled training samples by learning feature representations from unlabeled data. However, most current SSL techniques in the medical field have been designed for either 2D images or 3D volumes. In practice, this restricts the capability to fully leverage unlabeled data from numerous sources, which may include both 2D and 3D data. Additionally, the use of these pre-trained networks is constrained to downstream tasks with compatible data dimensions. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for unsupervised joint learning on 2D and 3D data modalities. Given a set of 2D images or 2D slices extracted from 3D volumes, we construct an SSL task based on a 2D contrastive clustering problem for distinct classes. The 3D volumes are exploited by computing vectored embedding at each slice and then assembling a holistic feature through deformable self-attention mechanisms in Transformer, allowing incorporating long-range dependencies between slices inside 3D volumes. These holistic features are further utilized to define a novel 3D clustering agreement-based SSL task and masking embedding prediction inspired by pre-trained language models. Experiments on downstream tasks, such as 3D brain segmentation, lung nodule detection, 3D heart structures segmentation, and abnormal chest X-ray detection, demonstrate the effectiveness of our joint 2D and 3D SSL approach. We improve plain 2D Deep-ClusterV2 and SwAV by a significant margin and also surpass various modern 2D and 3D SSL approaches. This article examines the security and privacy concerns associated with the integration of blockchain technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) in communication systems. As the IoT continues to grow and evolve, there is an increasing need to ensure the security and privacy of the vast amounts of data generated and exchanged between connected devices. Blockchain technology offers promising solutions for enhancing security and privacy in communication systems;however, it also presents its own set of challenges and vulnerabilities. This article explores the existing literature on the topic and analyzes the materials and methods used in previous studies. The results and discussions delve into the key security and privacy concerns in communication systems with blockchain and IoT, including data integrity, authentication, and confidentiality, scalability, and consensus mechanisms. Finally, the article concludes with recommendations and future directions for addressing these concerns and advancing the security and privacy of communication systems in the context of blockchain technology and the IoT. © 2023 IEEE.
