This study addresses environmental issues like global warming and wastewater generation by exploring waste-to-energy strategies that produce renewable hydrogen and treat wastewater simultaneously. Cu/g-C3N4 is used to evolve hydrogen from sucrose solution and the impact of reaction parameters such as pH (3, 5, and 7), Cu loading (5, 10, and 15 wt%), catalyst amount (0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 g/L), and oxidant (H2O2) concentration (0, 10, and 20 mM) on the evolved hydrogen amount is examined. Characterization study confirmed successful incorporation of Cu without significantly altering g-C3N4 properties. The highest hydrogen production (1979.25 μmol·g–1·h–1) is achieved with 0.3 g/L catalyst, 20 mM H2O2, 5% Cu loading, pH 3. The experimental study concludes that Cu/g-C3N4 is effective photocatalyst for renewable hydrogen production. In addition to the experimental investigations, various machine learning (ML) models, including Random Forest, Decision Tree, XGBoost, among others, are employed to analyze the impact of reaction parameters and forecast the quantities of produced hydrogen. Alongside these individual models, an ensemble approach is proposed and utilized. The R2 values of these ML models ranged from 0.9454 to 0.9955, indicating strong predictive performance across the board. Additionally, these models exhibited low error rates, further confirming their reliability in predicting hydrogen evolution. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Healthcare Internet of Things (HIoT) requires large-scale privacy features to ensure maximum security in sharing sensitive physiological data in consumer electronics. Recent approaches utilize the fusion concept to provide maximum privacy in health data sharing. Embedded signing data fusion with the health observed data ensures privacy preserved sharing across heterogeneous medical consumer devices for diagnosis. This article proposes a Dependency-correlated data Fusion Scheme (DcDFS) to maximize the privacy of the health data-sharing process. The proposed scheme prepares separate key signing procedures using triple-DES (data encryption standard) to embed with the accumulated health data. The fusion process is carried out by defining key headers and integrity footers for authentication and verification. Therefore, the fusion generates a combined sequence of linear authentication and validation procedures enclosing the health data. In this scheme, the role of federated learning is to prevent permuted sequences for the same health data. This research integrates Small Language Model (SLM) and Large Language Model (LLM) into the federated learning module to support secure, scalable, and intelligent healthcare data sharing. Their collaboration enhances context-aware training while preserving privacy across decentralized, encrypted environments. A similar sequence mapped between the header and footer is responsible for discarding unauthorized data handling. The learning process verifies the permutation for many-to-one header to footer and vice versa. Therefore, the proposed fusion scheme generates a linear dependency between the actual and security-related data for maximum privacy. The proposed scheme achieves the following: the computation time is confined by 12.424%, the privacy leakage by 12.923%, and the computation efficiency is improved by 11.46%, as observed under the maximum sequences. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Peptides are gaining significant attention in diverse fields such as the pharmaceutical market has seen a steady rise in peptide-based therapeutics over the past six decades. Peptides have been utilized in the development of distinct applications including inhibitors of SARS-COV-2 and treatments for conditions like cancer and diabetes. Distinct types of peptides possess unique characteristics, and development of peptide-specific applications require the discrimination of one peptide type from others. To the best of our knowledge, approximately 230 Artificial Intelligence (ai) driven applications have been developed for 22 distinct types of peptides, yet there remains significant room for development of new predictors. A Comprehensive review addresses the critical gap by providing a consolidated platform for the development of ai-driven peptide classification applications. This paper offers several key contributions, including presenting the biological foundations of 22 unique peptide types and categorizes them into four main classes: Regulatory, Therapeutic, Nutritional, and Delivery Peptides. It offers an in-depth overview of 47 databases that have been used to develop peptide classification benchmark datasets. It summarizes details of 288 benchmark datasets that are used in development of diverse types ai-driven peptide classification applications. It provides a detailed summary of 197 sequence representation learning methods and 94 classifiers that have been used to develop 230 distinct ai-driven peptide classification applications. Across 22 distinct types peptide classification tasks related to 288 benchmark datasets, it demonstrates performance values of 230 ai-driven peptide classification applications. In a heterogeneous wireless environment, there are many different radio access technologies (RATs), such as Wi-Fi and 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, which each have a different degree of coverage and processing power to meet various service requirements. A mobile user may have access to various access networks in such a situation. On the PC of each user, numerous programs with varied Quality of Service (QoS) requirements can operate simultaneously. It would be advantageous for a multi-interface terminal to use two or more interfaces simultaneously in order to improve performance. However, using multiple networks at once could use up more energy than just using one interface. Therefore, energy use must to be taken into account when analyzing the Flow/Interface Relationship (FIA). This paper presents a novel method for choosing the ideal FIA that achieves the best trade-off between all the characteristics taken into account, dubbed Smart Tabu Search (STS). STS considers user preferences, network circumstances, network expenses, application QoS specifications, and battery life of mobile devices. We use simulations and testbed experiments to validate our concept. Professionals are now able to diagnose and monitor patients remotely because to the growing use of healthcare monitoring devices. One of the most frequent occurrences that affects the reliability of information transmission in any network is congestion, which is defined as the unchecked increase in traffic relative to network capacity. With the use of a mesh network, wireless sensors, and some of the most significant models for vital signs, the article aims to provide a realistic simulation environment for a healthcare system. The simulator environment is a helpful tool for assessing the dependability and effectiveness of the healthcare system in a realistic setting. Internet of Things (IoT) devices are crucial components in e-healthcare networks. It enables remote patient health monitoring and facilitates seamless communication among medical sensors, wearable devices, and healthcare providers through public communication channels. Despite these advantages, the use of public communication among medical sensors in e-healthcare networks introduces critical challenges, such as vulnerability to impersonation, physical capture, and ephemeral secret leakage, particularly in resource-constrained environments. In recent years, various access control protocols have been developed to mitigate these risks. However, these protocols often fail to ensure robust security while incurring significant communication and computation overhead. To overcome these limitations, we propose a lightweight and robust access control protocol for IoT-based e-healthcare networks using chaotic maps. We propose a novel protocol that integrates a PUF-based mechanism to mitigate the challenges of physical tampering and cloning attacks in e-healthcare networks. It leverages the inherent uniqueness of PUF and enhances security through the high-entropy properties of chaotic maps. We analyze the proposed protocol informally, which confirms that it significantly bolsters efficiency and security. We also validate the security using the Random or Real (RoR) model. Moreover, we verify the security of the proposed protocol using Scyther. These analyses highlight that the proposed protocol offers robust resistance to numerous attacks, such as impersonation, physical capture, and ephemeral secret leakage. Moreover, we also compare it with existing and relevant protocols. The comparative analysis showcases its superior performance. Notably, the proposed authentication protocol significantly reduces 46.84% computational overhead and decreases 31.30% communication overhead, underscoring its enhanced performance and resource efficiency. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Genetic Auto-prompt Learning for Pre-trained Code Intelligence Language Models

As Pre-trained Language Models (PLMs), a popular approach for code intelligence, continue to grow in size, the computational cost of their usage has become prohibitively expensive. Prompt learning, a recent development in the field of natural language processing, emerges as a potential solution to address this challenge. In this paper, we investigate the effectiveness of prompt learning in code intelligence tasks. We unveil its reliance on manually designed prompts, which often require significant human effort and expertise. Moreover, we discover existing automatic prompt design methods are very limited to code intelligence tasks due to factors including gradient dependence, high computational demands, and limited applicability. To effectively address both issues, we propose Genetic Auto Prompt (GenAP), which utilizes an elaborate genetic algorithm to automatically design prompts. With GenAP, non-experts can effortlessly generate superior prompts compared to meticulously manual-designed ones. GenAP operates without the need for gradients or additional computational costs, rendering it gradient-free and cost-effective. Moreover, GenAP supports both understanding and generation types of code intelligence tasks, exhibiting great applicability. We conduct GenAP on three popular code intelligence PLMs with three canonical code intelligence tasks including defect prediction, code summarization, and code translation. The results suggest that GenAP can effectively automate the process of designing prompts. Specifically, GenAP outperforms all other methods across all three tasks (e.g. improving accuracy by an average of 2.13% for defect prediction). Feature-only partition of large graph data in distributed Graph Neural Network (GNN) training offers advantages over commonly adopted graph structure partition, such as minimal graph preprocessing cost and elimination of cross-worker subgraph sampling burdens. Nonetheless, performance bottleneck of GNN training with feature-only partitions still largely lies in the substantial communication overhead due to cross-worker feature fetching. To reduce the communication overhead and expedite distributed training, we first investigate and answer two key questions on convergence behaviors of GNN model in feature-partition based distribute GNN training: 1) As no worker holds a complete copy of each feature, can gradient exchange among workers compensate for the information loss due to incomplete local features? 2) If the answer to the first question is negative, is feature fetching in every training iteration of the GNN model necessary to ensure model convergence? Based on our theoretical findings on these questions, we derive an optimal communication plan that decides the frequency for feature fetching during the training process, taking into account bandwidth levels among workers and striking a balance between model loss and training time. Extensive evaluation demonstrates consistent results with our theoretical analysis, and the effectiveness of our proposed design.

Over the years, Machine Learning models have been successfully employed on neuroimaging data for accurately predicting brain age. Deviations from the healthy brain aging pattern are associated with the accelerated brain aging and brain abnormalities. Hence, efficient and accurate diagnosis techniques are required to elicit accurate brain age estimations. Several contributions have been reported in the past for this purpose, resorting to different data-driven modeling methods. Recently, deep neural networks (also referred to as deep learning) have become prevalent in manifold neuroimaging studies, including brain age estimation. In this review, we offer a comprehensive analysis of the literature related to the adoption of deep learning for brain age estimation with neuroimaging data. We detail and analyze different deep learning architectures used for this application, pausing at research works published to date quantitatively exploring their application. We also examine different brain age estimation frameworks, comparatively exposing their advantages and weaknesses. Finally, the review concludes with an outlook towards future directions that should be followed by prospective studies. The ultimate goal of this paper is to establish a common and informed reference for newcomers and experienced researchers willing to approach brain age estimation by using deep learning models. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

I have studied how artificial intelligence (ai) or machine learning (ML) is applied in a sustainable system called "Eugenie" for my work, project, and thesis. In this project, I get to discuss Eugenie’s role in ensuring the sustainability of large environmental business organizations. I also get to discuss how it aids operation managers in making predictions about when their machines will break down days, weeks, and months in advance, allowing them to schedule maintenance cycles more effectively. In other words, Eugenie provides plant operators with data so they can prioritize repairs. Eugenie executes this process by utilizing real-time data from numerous sensors attached to large machinery and equipment in the process industry, metals and mining, oil and gas, and smart cities industries. Two products make up this program; the first is named RAY-FINN and the second is called PAPILLON. Eugenie assists businesses in a variety of ways, including:•aids in the attainment of operational excellence by process organizations•Always raise overall profitability.•Contributes to a greener and safer future.
