In recent years, investigators have prolonged their research on predicting obesity risks using Machine Learning (ML) techniques. Obesity is an intricate condition with multiple contributing factors, such as genetics, behaviour, environment, and social factors. Predicting obesity risk through ML can aid recognise individuals who may be at risk also aids in early identification to prevent or manage the condition. There is a need for these predictive models which is a combination of various factors like age, medical history, and lifestyle and these are the probability of increasing obesity among individuals. The model aims to accurately predict the obesity risks as early as possible. Detecting obesity at an initial stage is a stimulating procedure. This paper aims to use ML models such as XGBoost, CatBoost and LightGBM to predict obesity at a primary stage. To predict the obesity, Nobeyesdad dataset from Kaggle is used in this study. The obesity prediction model classifies the data into multiple categories like normal, insufficient weight, overweight and obesity individuals. The results of the enhanced obesity prediction model generates ideal results by classifying the datasets which aids the specialists to make decisions easily. © 2025 IEEE.

The goal of this project is to implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Agricultural Monitoring & Alert System (AMAS) that will integrate multiple sensors to continuously monitor agricultural parameters, such as soil moisture levels, soil temperature, water levels, irrigation pump operation status, and water quality, to improve precision farming practices. Enabling farmers to make well-informed decisions, maximize resources, and enhance crop output in real time is the primary objective of the AMAS system. The challenges of using IoT for agricultural monitoring, include issues with adoption among farmers, dependable technology, efficient data administration, and connectivity. Small-scale farmers' financial hardship and rural areas' restricted access to technology. Many obstacles stand in the way of the widespread adoption of IoT-based agricultural monitoring systems, such as smallscale farmers' limited financial resources, rural communities' restricted access to technology, and problems with connectivity, dependable data handling, and system scalability. Machine learning-based prediction models and IoT-integrated smart irrigation are two recent approaches that have showed promise in tackling these issues, but they still face obstacles such high implementation costs, technical complexity, and infrastructure dependence. By improving yields, increasing output, and facilitating remote monitoring, the AMAS system seeks to overcome these limits while taking into account the unique requirements and limitations of farmers. This study plan to enhance productivity, optimize yield, and implement remote monitoring. © 2025 IEEE.

Recommendation systems are crucial due to their high relevance in terms of interpretability and performance. A Social Recommendation system explores how social relations influence user choices and how users select items. In this system, user-embeddings are learned from Knowledge graphs to enhance the recommendations. The social recommendation system can be categorized into three main areas: user recommendation, movie recommendation, and explainable recommendation. User recommendation focusses on providing users with personalized services, movie recommendation enhances the movie-watching experience, and explainable recommendation aims to provide the reasoning behind the suggested items. Data sparsity and the cold start problem are significant challenges faced by RS. The Social RS model addresses these issues by leveraging both user-item interactions and user-user social relationships, thereby improving the overall quality of social network-based recommendations. Methods such as Light Graph Convolutional Network (LGCN), Hyperbolic Recommender (HSR), and Knowledge Enhanced Graph Neural Networks (KEGNN) have been proposed to enhance social recommendation performance. Evaluation metrics such as recall @N, precision @N are commonly used to assess and estimate the effectiveness of recommendation systems. © 2025 IEEE.

Fuzzy relation inequalities (FRIs) play a crucial role in various optimization and decision-making problems that involve uncertainty and imprecision. The solution of such inequalities has been an active area of research, leading to the development of a wide array of advanced algorithms designed to handle fuzzy constraints in optimization problems. This paper reviews the most prominent algorithms developed for solving fuzzy relation inequalities, focusing on the evolution of methods from traditional linear programming to modern metaheuristic algorithms. We explore linear programming approaches that integrate fuzzy relational constraints using different composition operations, such as max-min, max-Lukasiewicz, and addition-min compositions. The advancements in these methods, particularly in handling large-scale and complex fuzzy systems, are highlighted. Additionally, the paper examines the application of metaheuristics, including Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), in solving fuzzy optimization problems under relational inequalities. The use of bipolar fuzzy relations in optimization models is also reviewed, emphasizing their ability to model conflicting objectives in decision-making. Moreover, geometric programming, hybrid algorithms combining fuzzy relations with other optimization paradigms, and future trends in integrating machine learning techniques into fuzzy optimization are discussed. The review provides valuable insights into the state-of-the-art algorithms for fuzzy relation inequalities, offering potential directions for future research and applications in dynamic, real-world systems. The proposed methods are crucial for improving decision-making in fields such as healthcare, finance, and intelligent systems, where uncertainty and imprecision are inherent. © 2025 IEEE.

Desertification greatly affects land deterioration, farming efficiency, economic growth, and health, especially in Gulf nations. Climate change has worsened desertification, making developmental issues in the area even more difficult. This research presents an enhanced framework utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) for ongoing monitoring, data gathering, and analysis to evaluate desertification patterns. The framework utilizes Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) to categorize IoT data, while a low-latency processing method on edge computing platforms enables effective detection of desertification trends. The classified data is subsequently analyzed using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) optimized with a Genetic Algorithm (GA) for forecasting decisions. Using cloud computing infrastructure, the ANN-GA model examines intricate data connections to forecast desertification risk elements. Moreover, the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model is employed to predict desertification over varied time intervals. Experimental simulations illustrate the effectiveness of the suggested framework, attaining enhanced performance in essential metrics: Temporal Delay (103.68 s), Classification Efficacy—Sensitivity (96.44 %), Precision (95.56 %), Specificity (96.97 %), and F-Measure (96.69 %)—Predictive Efficiency—Accuracy (97.76 %) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) (1.95 %)—along with Reliability (93.73 %) and Stability (75 %). The results of classification effectiveness and prediction performance emphasize the framework's ability to detect high-risk zones and predict the severity of desertification. This innovative method improves the comprehension of desertification processes and encourages sustainable land management practices, reducing the socio-economic impacts of desertification and bolstering at-risk ecosystems. Parkinson's disease (PD) diagnosis involves the assessment of a variety of motor and non-motor symptoms. To accurately diagnose PD, it is necessary to differentiate its symptoms from those of other conditions. During the diagnosis process, clinicians must consider gait abnormalities as one of the key symptoms. However, relying solely on clinical judgment for the diagnosis of PD may have limitations. In this work, we have proposed a Multikernel SVM (MK-SVM) based Parkinson's severity analysis method. Initially, an adaptive median filter is used to reduce the noise in the gait image. Then, to extract the features, we propose a dual-layer method that employs stacked autoencoders (SAEs) for local feature extraction and residual deep convolution neural networks (RDCNN) for global feature extraction. The hyper-parameters from the RDCNN are optimized using the Enhanced walrus optimization algorithm (EWO). In the final step, we use MK-SVM to classify PD according to severity. This model is evaluated using the GAIT-IT and GAIT-IST datasets. With the help of Python, we evaluated the proposed model in terms of precision, accuracy, recall, specificity, and F-scores, and the model achieved a maximum accuracy of 97.3%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Human motion detection is a critical application of biomechanics, leveraging computer vision to analyse and interpret human activities. This technology is essential across various fields, including sports training, where it aids in monitoring and optimizing athlete performance, and security, where it plays a role in tracking movements in sensitive areas. In this study, we employ two distinct datasets: the Movi dataset and the MoCap CMU dataset. To address the challenge of limited data, we utilized a Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Network (DCGAN) for data augmentation, generating new, synthetic images to enhance the diversity and quantity of the training data. Subsequent analysis was conducted using multiple deep learning models, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), Multilayer Perceptrons (MLP), VGG16, AlexNet, and AlexNet with K-Fold Cross Validation. The application of these models yielded promising results, with accuracies of 87.5%, 89.9%, 90.2%, 91.2%, and 98.3%, respectively. The findings demonstrate the effectiveness of DCGAN in improving model performance through data augmentation, as well as the potential of these deep learning models to accurately detect and classify human motion. Predictive maintenance: A game changer in infrastructure and vehicle management, and able to cut maintenance expenses and downtime of smart transportation systems. This study explores ways in which smart transportation systems might use AI in order to plan maintenance schedules and forecast equipment breakdowns. Predictive algorithms, that can detect potential problems before raising to expensive repair or system breakdown, use real time sensor data from infrastructure and vehicles. Decision trees and neural networks are two of these models. By allowing AI driven solutions, transportation systems may transition from a reactive to a proactive maintenance practice which may support efficiency, safety, and reliability. Unsupervised learning methods are used to do anomaly detection for real time operations, and we examine the patterns in previous maintenance data with supervised learning approaches. The use of AI for predictive maintenance is also being studied for use in smart cities, where transportation networks are becoming more interconnected by IoT. The paper also considers challenges on data integration as well as the importance of scaling the algorithms and guaranteeing cybersecurity in these systems. Based on our research, smart transportation systems could benefit from AI to increase operational efficiency, reduce the cost of material and labor to maintain and repair equipment systems, and decrease the rate of disruptions. © 2025 IEEE.

Social Spider Optimization (SSO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms applied to Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) across small and large datasets. The study aims to evaluate and compare both PSO and SSO and find best optimal parameters in order to improve the accuracy of IDS. Additionally, the SSO algorithm find the best hyperparameter settings which are kernel, filter, padding, learning rate, and stride to achieve optimal results that directly impact IDS security. The evaluation of algorithms in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, and AUC score. Results indicate that, on small datasets, PSO comes under overfitting but not SSO. Even on larger datasets, SSO crosses PSO significantly in terms of accuracy. This finding shows the importance of improvement in scalability, efficiency, and robustness of IDS with help of Social Spider Optimization (SSO). © 2025 IEEE.

Hypertension, also referred to as high blood pressure, is a condition arising from the consistently high blood pressure against artery walls. The volume and output of blood from the heart primarily control blood pressure under stiff or tight arterial conditions. High pulse pressure leads to increased blood pressure, since the pumping of more blood makes the arteries inactive. The World Health Organization has a comprehensive guideline in which an evidence-based pharmacological approach has been recommended for managing adult patients with hypertension, not neglecting to mention lifestyle modification in order to support medicinal treatment. Machine learning may revolutionize the way hypertension treatment is projected for the management of personalized treatment routines for patients based on their characteristics. ML provides great promise in seeking ideal medication and predicting responses thereof against massive sets of data for hypertensive patients. The techniques allow for the determination of the individual risk for hypertension and ensure that treatment protocols are optimal. Compared to methods used to predict hypertension in the past, ML algorithms show a marked improvement in performance. © 2025 IEEE.
