Sensor-based human activity recognition (S-HAR) is a famous study focusing on detecting human physiological actions by interpreting various sensors, especially one-dimensional time series information. Typically, S-HAR machine learning methods were developed using handcrafted characteristics. Unfortunately, this is a complicated process that involves feature engineering and a high level of domain knowledge. Due to the development of deep neural networks, classification techniques could efficiently handle relevant characteristics from raw sensor data, resulting in enhanced classification outcomes. In this study, we describe a unique method for S-HAR based on ensemble deep learning with sensor nodes connected to the waist, chest, leg, and arm. Implementing and training three deep learning networks is performed using a publically available dataset, including wearable sensors from eight human actions. The findings demonstrate that the proposed Ens-ResNeXt model provides the maximum accuracy and F1-score, which is superior to existing techniques. © 2023 IEEE.

Human activity recognition (HAR) is a popular study area in the current era of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence. HAR approaches have been successfully applied in many real-world scenarios, such as sports tracking and assessment and remote healthcare for the elderly. Over the past decade, studies on HAR employing wearable sensors have been explored operating various wearable devices, including smartwatches, smart shoes, and other intelligent wearables. The advancement of sensor technology has directed the combining of inertial sensors into ear-worn devices, making it possible to record physical movements privately. In this study, we proposed a deep residual network named ResNeXt, for identifying free- weight exercises using sensor data from smart in-ear devices. To consider the performance of the proposed model and other deep learning models, we conducted experiments using a publicly available dataset called ERICA, which collected free-weight exercise activities from inertial sensors of both an in-ear device and a dumbbell. Our experimental results demonstrated that the suggested ResNeXt network surpassed other deep learning models, gaining the highest F1-score of 96.67% and 99.75% using inertial data from in-ear sensors and dumbbell sensors, respectively © 2023 IEEE.

Numerous research studies on human activity recognition (HAR) have utilized smartphone sensors, such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers. The accelerometer, in particular, has been considerably explored as the primary sensor in HAR research. Recently, researchers have integrated different smartphone sensors to enhance recognition interpretation. Nevertheless, it is still challenging to determine the optimal usage of these sensors, either individually or in combination, for better identification effectiveness in various motion situations. In this article, we explore how different motion sensors behave during the activity recognition process, using various deep learning (DL) approaches to classify physical actions based on smartphone sensor data. We evaluate the DL models using a publicly benchmarked dataset of data collected from ten participants performing eight movements while carrying smartphones in different situations. Our experimental results reveal that, except for the magnetometer, each sensor can play a leading role in HAR, depending on the recognized activity, body position, data features employed, and classification approach. Additionally, we find that the combination of sensors only improves overall recognition interpretation when their individual performances are low. © 2023 IEEE.

The risks discussed in this document are related to smart printers/ fax/ photocopiers/ or e-mail-enabled smart devices, also known as "document centers,". These devices can be purchased outright or rented every month. When an item reaches its end of life, it is either donated to a non-profit organization or returned to the manufacturer (OEM) or supplier at the end of a lease arrangement. These network-interconnected devices have an inherent susceptibility that most IT operations teams or information security professionals are unaware of. This effort will raise awareness of the dangers of losing a company's data. This discussion will focus on reported vulnerabilities, previous discussions, and given the author's view on the potential danger. Create instructions for potential users on how to use and disassemble these devices safely to prevent losing sensitive data. Lastly, the technological structure of two potential attack vectors against a document center of an organization will be demonstrated in this study. The study was conducted in government as well as the private sector, medium-sized enterprises (300 employees of each entity) settings, outside of normal business hours, with special authorizations and engagement, limiting the scope to a minimal set of devices. © 2023 IEEE.

Sleep apnea syndrome(SAS)is a breathing disorder while a person is *** traditional method for examining SAS is Polysomnography(PSG).The standard procedure of PSG requires complete overnight observation in a *** typically provides accurate results,but it is expensive and time ***,for people with Sleep apnea(SA),available beds and laboratories are ***,it may produce inaccurate ***,this paper proposes the Internet of Medical Things(IoMT)framework with a machine learning concept of fully connected neural network(FCNN)with k-near-est neighbor(k-NN)*** paper describes smart monitoring of a patient’s sleeping habit and diagnosis of SA using FCNN-KNN+average square error(ASE).For diagnosing SA,the Oxygen saturation(SpO2)sensor device is popularly used for monitoring the heart rate and blood oxygen *** diagnosis information is securely stored in the IoMT fog computing *** can care-fully monitor the SA patient remotely on the basis of sensor values,which are efficiently stored in the fog computing *** proposed technique takes less than 0.2 s with an accuracy of 95%,which is higher than existing models.

The present article focuses on the analytical approach using fractional orders and its application in the dynamics of physical processes. Fractional order models align better with experimental data compared to non-fractional ones. This study primarily focuses on employing the new approximate analytical method to solve shallow water models with fractional orders. Numerical examples within the Caputo fractional derivative showcase the method’s application. Results for both integer and fractional orders are graphically depicted, demonstrating the fractional solutions’ closeness to actual data. Analysis of 3D and 2D fractional order graphs reveals convergence toward integer order graphs as fractional derivatives approach non-fractional ones. This method shows promise for direct application in solving targeted problems and can be easily adapted for other fractional nature problems. © 2024 College of Education, Al-Iraqia University. this paper examines numerical solutions and applications of an innovative Chaotic Jerk System utilizing the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative (CF-FD). Chaotic systems display complex and unpredictable behaviors, which are recognized as significant in secure communication, data encryption, and random number generation. Employing both the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative and the theory of fractional calculus allows this study to present complex behaviors in compliance with memory effects and long-range interdependence. The computational approach has been introduced in the work and used to solve this chaotic system, which will eventually help us explore the dynamic behavior of such systems. At the same time, it scrutinizes a system's chaos, although closely recreating its action with. Initial conditions and parameters by executing numerical analysis, for example. Moreover, the paper gives an illustrative example for using this chaotic system in secure communication, data encryption, and random number generation. This article develops the phase form of a four-dimensional chaotic system using fractional calculus techniques and, hence, manipulates its chaos. The study provides a bridge between theory and application, an important function that allows for modern innovations in a wide spectrum of areas. We quantified the behavior of this system through numerical simulations and analytical exams, addressing methodologically different conditions thereon. These goals feed into a deeper knowledge of emergent complex chaotic dynamics as well as how the system might be implemented in applications such as secure communication and data encryption. Fractional calculus and chaotic systems have numerous and ever-expanding applications in engineering, helping to improve signal processing, modeling, communication, control, encryption, and our general knowledge of complicated dynamic systems. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper examines a special class of inhomogeneous birth-death process with two types of catastrophes. The first catastrophe, denoted as the α(t) catastrophe, results in the complete annihilation of all individuals in the system, while the second, β(t) catastrophe, leads to the partial demise of individuals, leaving only one survivor. In addition, we deal with general type of impatience. Namely, we assume that the incoming arrival rates decrease and the service rates increase as the queue length increases. By analyzing the forward Kolmogorov system and employing the logarithmic norm of the reduced infinitesimal characteristic matrix, we derived an estimate for the convergence rate to the limiting regime in both the l1 norm and the "weighted"1D norm. Additionally, we provided an estimate for the expected number of individuals remaining in the system. A numerical example is presented, wherein the process X(t) is analyzed with specific intensity functions, illustrating the behavior of probabilities p0(t), p1(t), p2(t) along with their mean values. © 2024 IEEE.

Many applications including government services are now available online. This allows people to access services without being physically present, but online authentication is required. An important online service is electronic voting which can significantly increase the participation rate due to time limits and the removal of location restrictions. Electronic voting protocols employ encryption algorithms to ensure the integrity of the voting process. Despite the many advantages of electronic voting, it is controlled by the system manager and a dishonest manager can compromise the voting integrity. Blockchain technology can be used to solve this problem by providing reliability and data integrity. In this paper, an electronic voting scheme is proposed which employs quantum collective blind signatures and blockchain to guarantee privacy and the integrity of the voting process. © 2024 IEEE.
