High-rate structural health monitoring of active structures operating in high-rate dynamic environments empowers the execution of preventative behavior in response to structural degradation or external stimuli. Examples of structures operating in high-rate dynamic environments include hypersonic vehicles, space crafts, and ballistic packages. The effective selection of reactive actions to be taken in real time requires an up-to-date model of the structure’s state. Importantly, the short timescale of relevance to these structures means that the model must be continuously updated with a time step of 1 millisecond or less. However, traditional frequency-based methods for updating the finite element model online require solving the generalized eigenvalue problem, which becomes more complex as the number of nodes or FEA model increases, thereby increasing computational time. In this work, the local eigenvalue modification procedure is put forward to accelerate the extraction of natural frequencies from finite element models updated online. The local eigenvalue modification procedure works by precomputing the eigenvalue solution to a reference state of the system and then computes the single (i.e., local) change in the modal domain from the reference state to the current state online. The modal domain update in the local eigenvalue modification procedure bypasses the general eigenvalue problem, which is the most expensive computational step. For the online implementation of the state estimation, the Dynamic Reproduction of Projectiles in Ballistic Environments for Advanced research testbed is used. The testbed allows for the controlled movement of a pinned condition attached to an otherwise free cantilever beam. In previous studies, the testbed has been used with the generalized eigenvalue solver in a frequency-based model assimilation approach to infer the most likely position of the pinned condition (i.e., state of the structure). As a promising enabler for edge intelligence, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) have become more and more important in Mobile Edge Computing Networks (MECN), such as communication, computation, collection and control service supply. Although Age of Information (AoI) minimization is indispensable for fresh information collection and computation in the UAV-aided MECN, some attackers can launch attacks to deteriorate the availability of precious channel resources, such as revealed channel access attacks (CAAs). Moreover, recent research has not considered the system's active probability and security issues concurrently, e.g., CAA, in the average AoI minimization process. In this paper, to deal with this problem, we consider an AoI-oriented channel access problem under CAA with a game theory viewpoint. Firstly, to obtain a MECN-based AoI indicator under CAA, the system model with active probability consideration is established. Next, the channel access-based AoI minimization problem is formulated from the viewpoint of the Ordinary Potential Game (OPG). Furthermore, two algorithms called AACSD and DCASD are proposed to determine channel access strategies, by which the Nash Equilibrium (NE) solution of the OPG could be reached. Finally, experiments are conducted under homogeneous and heterogeneous parameter settings, and the simulation results evaluate the correctness and effectiveness of our proposals. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

The present work analyses the total free energy of the material during the martensitic transformation. A general expression for the martensite fraction as a function of temperature is derived, assuming that the nonchemical free energyis proportional to the volume of martensite. This expression indicates that the temperature-dependent martensitefraction can be predicted once the characteristic transformation temperatures and the relation between the chemicalfree energy and temperature of the martensite and austenite are known. An advantage of this development is thatthe proposed equation is valid for all types of relations between the chemical free energy and temperature. Thissimulation is successfully applied to the martensitic transformation upon further cooling of retained austenite in alow-alloyed TRIP steel, in which the relation between chemical free energy and temperature is quadratic and thefraction is determined from a thermo-magnetic measurement.

Recent years have seen a considerable surge of research on developing heuristic approaches to realize analog computing using physical waves. Among these, neuromorphic computing using light waves is envisioned to feature performance metrics such as computational speed and energy efficiency exceeding those of conventional digital techniques by many orders of magnitude. Yet, neuromorphic computing based on photonics remains a challenge due to the difficulty of training and manufacturing sophisticated photonic structures to support neural networks with adequate expressive power. Here, we realize a diffractive optical neural network (ONN) based on metasurfaces that can recognize objects by directly processing light waves scattered from the objects. Metasurfaces composed of a two-dimensional array of millions of meta-units can realize precise control of optical wavefront with subwavelength resolution;thus, when used as constitutive layers of an ONN, they can provide exceptionally high expressive power. We experimentally demonstrate ONNs based on single-layered metasurfaces that modulate the phase and polarization over optical wavefront for recognizing optically-coherent binary objects, including hand-written digits and English alphabetic letters. We further demonstrate, in simulation, ONNs based on metasurface doublets for human facial verification. The advantageous traits of metasurface-based ONNs, including ultra-compact form factors, zero power consumption, ultra-fast and parallel data processing capabilities, and physics-guaranteed data security, make them suitable as "edge" perception devices that can transform the future of image collection and analysis. © 2022, CC BY.

We present two algorithms in the Quantum CONGEST-CLIQUE model of distributed computation that succeed with high probability; one for producing an approximately optimal Steiner Tree, and one for producing an exact directed minimum spanning tree, each of which uses $\overline{O}(n^{1/4})$ rounds of communication and $\tilde{O}(n^{9/4})$ messages, achieving a lower asymptotic round and message complexity than any known algorithms in the classical CONGEST-CLIQUE model. At a high level, we achieve these results by combining classical algorithmic frameworks with quantum subroutines. Additionally, we characterize the constants and logarithmic factors involved in our algorithms as well as related classical algorithms, otherwise obscured by $\overline{O}$ notation, revealing that advances are needed to render both the quantum and classical algorithms practical.

A program obfuscator takes a program and outputs a ``scrambled"" version of it, where the goal is that the obfuscated program will not reveal much about its structure beyond what is apparent from executing it. There are several ways of formalizing this goal. Specifically, in indistinguishability obfuscation, first defined by Barak et al. [Advances in Cryptology - CRYPTO, 2001, Lect. Notes Comput. Sci. 2139, Springer, Berlin, Heidelberg, pp. 1-18], the requirement is that the results of obfuscating any two functionally equivalent programs (circuits) will be computationally indistinguishable. In 2013, a fascinating candidate construction for indistinguishability obfuscation was proposed by Garg et al. [Proceedings of the Symposium on Theory of Computing Conference, STOC, ACM, 2013, pp. 467-476]. This has led to a flurry of discovery of intriguing constructions of primitives and protocols whose existence was not previously known (for instance, fully deniable encryption by Sahai and Waters [Proceedings of the Symposium on Theory of Computing, 2014, STOC, pp. 475-484]). Most of them explicitly rely on additional hardness assumptions, such as one-way functions. Our goal is to get rid of this extra assumption. We cannot argue that indistinguishability obfuscation of all polynomial-time circuits implies the existence of one-way functions, since if P = NP, then © by SIAM. In this study, we develop an immersed boundary method - volume of fluid (IBM-VOF) two-phase flow solver to simulate two-phase flow problem contains solid boundaries and free surface and use it to solve the typical problems for floating marine structures. In the solver, the IBM method is adapted to solve the problems of the moving marine structures and the VOF method for solving the problems of a free surface flow. The free surface at the fluid is considered as the mixed fluid of sea water and air in the solver. Base on this IBM-VOF two-phase flow model, hydrodynamic analysis of a floating marine structure with forced heave motion is done, and hydrodynamic force coefficients are computed. In this case, we firstly calculate the forces of the floating marine structure under different frequencies, and then we get added mass and added damping through fitting the data of the forces by the least square method. The results obtained from the present model are compared, which verified the reliability and accuracy of this numerical model. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

Using blockchain technology to build strong digital asset management tools for financial operations is a revolutionary way to bring financial systems up to date. Blockchain technology is changing the way money works by making transfers decentralised, open, and safe. Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems help businesses easily store and share digital assets like cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based assets. Using blockchain tools like smart contracts and tokenization makes financial deals safer and more trustworthy by using cryptographic encryption and ledger systems that can't be changed. Streamlining processes and payment makes financial operations more efficient. But problems like scaling and following the rules must be dealt with. Blockchain technology has many uses in finance, such as cross-border payments, tokenizing assets, and smart contracts. It is also changing how financial services are regulated. This study uses secondary data from academic research papers, peer-reviewed journals, and industry reports to look the use of blockchain technology to financial transactions, learn about DAM basics, look into blockchain tools in financial services, and judge how blockchain is used in financial transactions. Quantum communication provides an enormous advantage over its classical counterpart： security of communications based on the very principles of quantum mechanics. researchers have proposed several approaches for user identity authentication via entanglement. Unfortunately, these protocols fail because an attacker can capture some of the particles in a transmitted sequence and send what is left to the receiver through a quantum channel. Subsequently, the attacker can restore some of the confidential messages, giving rise to the possibility of information leakage. Here we present a new robust General N user authentication protocol based on N-particle Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger （GHZ） states, which makes eavesdropping detection more effective and secure, as compared to some current authentication protocols. The security analysis of our protocol for various kinds of attacks verifies that it is unconditionally secure, and that an attacker will not obtain any information about the transmitted key. Moreover, as the number of transferred key bits N becomes larger, while the number of users for transmitting the information is increased, the probability of effectively obtaining the transmitted authentication keys is reduced to zero.
