Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are used in various healthcare and military surveillance applications. As more sensitive data is transmitted across the network, achieving security becomes critical. Ensuring security is also challenging because most sensors are deployed in remote areas, making them vulnerable to many security attacks. Sybil attacks are one of the most destructive attacks. Security against Sybil attackers can be attained by implementing effective detection techniques to distinguish attackers from genuine nodes. This paper reviews existing machine learning-based approaches for detecting Sybil attacks, and their performance is compared based on different parameters. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This research aimed to improve the method of synthesizing specifications and requirements in IT project reengineering and apply it in practice. The method effectively analyzes archaic systems and considers the old system's specifics and business needs. Parallel testing and results analysis ensure compliance of the new system and help correct requirements based on identified issues. The black-box model and parallel system testing algorithms facilitate requirements detection and adjustment. Implementing these enhancements ensures effective work organization, proper problem-solving, and high-quality results in IT project reengineering. © 2023 IEEE.

Cyber-physical systems(CPSs)have emerged as an essential area of research in the last decade,providing a new paradigm for the integration of computational and physical units in modern control *** state estimation(RSE)is an indispensable functional module of ***,it has been demonstrated that malicious agents can manipulate data packets transmitted through unreliable channels of RSE,leading to severe estimation performance *** paper aims to present an overview of recent advances in cyber-attacks and defensive countermeasures,with a specific focus on integrity attacks against ***,two representative frameworks for the synthesis of optimal deception attacks with various performance metrics and stealthiness constraints are discussed,which provide a deeper insight into the vulnerabilities of ***,a detailed review of typical attack detection and resilient estimation algorithms is included,illustrating the latest defensive measures safeguarding RSE from ***,some prevalent attacks impairing the confidentiality and data availability of RSE are examined from both attackers'and defenders'***,several challenges and open problems are presented to inspire further exploration and future research in this field.

Any business processes in an enterprise are associated with the need to periodically assess possible risk situations. Today, assessing risks in order to control them is not enough. It is necessary to continuously, cyclically and on an ongoing basis carry out risk management, which has already become an integral part of the management of the organization. However, the complexity of assessing and analyzing events associated with an unfavorable outcome dictates to organizational systems, which include the subject area considered in the work - a cargo port, the need to develop and use tools that allow for a comprehensive assessment of activities from the point of view of possible risks, including the possibility of cognitive evaluation of each of the results obtained. Risks are considered as situations of failure to meet goals, as well as target standards. The developed balanced scorecard (BS) contains a set of goals and indicators that complement them. In addition to this, through multi-level hybrid and scenario LP risk models of a cargo port, logical and probabilistic connections between goals, indicators and risks arising at all three levels of management are formulated. The basis of the ontological model is knowledge about the above-mentioned connections, the integrated use of which through appropriate queries allows you to choose ways to bypass risk situations under the existing specified conditions. The query results form experimental scenarios with a multi-approach simulation model and allow you to obtain quantitative estimates of indicators, goals and risks. Taking into account all available stochastic characteristics, influencing factors, and also based on information about the results of the experiment, the decision maker formulates the values of the parameters of the original organizational system necessary to adjust in order to prevent the development and aggravation of risk events. © 2024 IEEE.

A New Hybrid Model for Segmentation of the Skin Lesion Based on Residual Attention U-Net

Skin segmentation participates significantly in various biomedical applications,such as skin cancer identification and skin lesion *** paper presents a novel framework for segmenting the *** framework contains two main stages:The first stage is for removing different types of noises from the dermoscopic images,such as hair,speckle,and impulse noise,and the second stage is for segmentation of the dermoscopic images using an attention residual U-shaped Network(U-Net).The framework uses variational Autoencoders(VAEs)for removing the hair noises,the Generative Adversarial Denoising Network(DGAN-Net),the Denoising U-shaped U-Net(D-U-NET),and Batch Renormalization U-Net(Br-U-NET)for remov-ing the speckle noise,and the Laplacian Vector Median Filter(MLVMF)for removing the impulse *** the second main stage,the residual attention u-net was used for *** framework achieves(35.11,31.26,27.01,and 26.16),(36.34,33.23,31.32,and 28.65),and(36.33,32.21,28.54,and 27.11)for removing hair,speckle,and impulse noise,respectively,based on Peak Signal Noise Ratio(PSNR)at the level of(0.1,0.25,0.5,and 0.75)of *** framework also achieves an accuracy of nearly 94.26 in the dice score in the process of segmentation before removing noise and 95.22 after removing different types of *** experiments have shown the efficiency of the used model in removing noise according to the structural similarity index measure(SSIM)and PSNR and in the segmentation process as well.

This study presents the architecture and performance evaluation of a high-capacity free-space optical (FSO) communication system that makes use of dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) and a 1.28 Tb/s link. The system under consideration comprises 64 individual channels, each of which is capable of transferring data streams at a speed of 20 Gbps. A return-to-zero (RZ) line coding algorithm is incorporated to maximize performance across 2.0 km of FSO link. Important parameters that affect the system's performance, like beam divergence and atmosphere attenuation, are taken into account in the analysis. The signals' bit-error-rate (BER), quality factor (Q), and eye diagrams are calculated and examined to assess the system's performance. For future optical-wireless networks that require significant bandwidth capabilities, cost-effective implementation, and increased flexibility, this novel high-capacity design offers a promising solution. The results aid in the development of dependable and useful high-speed FSO communication systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Electric Vehicles (EVs) become very important issue and gained attention due to many reasons like its economic price, saving environment and more reliable. In this study, controlling speed for EV is utilized by tracking the desired speed using Fractional Order Proportional Derivative (FOPD) controller with a smart tuning algorithm named Sunflower Optimization (SFO) algorithm to satisfy robust and efficient controlled speed. The numerical analysis is obtained using Matlab program in two steps, controlling the system to reach the desired value in best and stable response then apply two undesired signals (disturbance signals) to test system robustness and finally compare the suggested controller with different conventional controllers(Normal PD controller-Optimal PD controller). © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper,we propose a game theory framework to solve advanced persistent threat problems,especially considering two types of insider threats:malicious and *** this framework,we establish a unified three-player game model and derive Nash equilibria in response to different types of insider *** analyzing these Nash equilibria,we provide quantitative solutions to advanced persistent threat problems pertaining to insider ***,we have conducted a comparative assessment of the optimal defense strategy and corresponding defender's costs between two types of insider ***,our findings advocate a more proactive defense strategy against inadvertent insider threats in contrast to malicious ones,despite the latter imposing a higher burden on the *** theoretical results are substantiated by numerical results,which additionally include a detailed exploration of the conditions under which different insiders adopt risky *** conditions can serve as guiding indicators for the defender when calibrating their monitoring intensities and devising defensive strategies.

The exponential growth of academic publications has made scholarly research recommender systems indispensable tools for researchers. These systems rely on diverse evaluation metrics to assess their effectiveness and relevance. This paper provides a comprehensive review and analysis of these metrics, categorizing them into accuracy, ranking, diversity, user-centric, coverage, temporal, and computational metrics. By employing a mixed-methods approach, combining systematic literature review and empirical analysis, we identify the prevalence and application of these metrics across various scholarly domains such as literature, conferences, and reviewers. Our findings highlight the widespread use of traditional metrics like precision, recall, and Fl-score, while emphasizing the growing importance of novel metrics such as unexpectedness and serendipity, especially in literature and conference recommendations. We also underscore the domain-specific nature of metric selection, with user-centric evaluations more prominent in literature recommendations, and ranking-focused metrics dominant in conference and reviewer recommendations. Furthermore, the study reveals a significant gap in the use of temporal and computational metrics, suggesting key areas for future research. This review offers valuable insights for researchers and practitioners, guiding them in metric selection and highlighting potential directions for enhancing the effectiveness, adaptability, and user satisfaction of scholarly recommender systems. © 2024 IEEE.
