This work proposes a distributed robust control architecture for meshed DC Microgrid networks. Each interlinking converter is modelled as a network node and is connected in parallel to a constant power load representing the network’s power consumption. Each node employs a local controller consisting of two parts; current regulation based on a modified version of the state-limiting PI and a distributed MPC driving the system to desired setpoints. We analytically prove each controller’s robustness to model variations caused by changes in both the power demand and the transmitted information among the subsystems. The concept of positive invariance sets and the inherent robustness properties of the nominal MPC are used to prove recursive feasibility of the optimal control problem and guarantee constraint satisfaction at all times. The stability proof of the cascaded node dynamics is based upon the emerging properties of both the state limiting PI and the distributed MPC design. Demonstration of the results is given in a simulated scenario.

Realizing Generalized Zero-Shot Learning (GZSL) based on large models is emerging as a prevailing trend. However, most existing methods merely regard large models as black boxes, solely leveraging the features output by the final layer while disregarding potential performance enhancements from other layers. Indeed, numerous researchers have visually depicted variations in the features learned across different layers of neural networks. Motivated by this observation, we propose a Vision Transformer (ViT)-based GZSL method named Depth-Aware Multi-Modal ViT (DAM2ViT), which exploits multi-level features of ViT. DAM2ViT incorporates a multi-modal interaction block to align semantic information of categories across multiple layers, thereby augmenting the model’s capacity to learn associations between visual and semantic spaces. Extensive experiments conducted on three benchmark datasets (i.e., CUB, SUN, AWA2) have showcased that DAM2ViT achieves competitive results compared to state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 IEEE.

This study proposes a method that can easily grasp the relationship between the actual machine and the graphs. In recent years, there has been a lot of research on augmented reality displays. The fields of research range from education to welfare. In the development of control systems, when evaluating the performance of a system by simulation or experiment, the results are often checked as graphs. Since the graphs are checked on a PC using CAD or other means, it is difficult to know which part of the actual machine each graph corresponds to. Therefore, we developed a tool that displays graphs in augmented reality around the actual machine through a camera on a mobile terminal. To display graphs in augmented reality, it is important to obtain the coordinates of the actual machine and display them in a location associated with the device. Therefore, a USD model with the same shape and size as the actual machine is used. This is achieved by displaying the USD model in augmented reality so that it is superimposed on the actual machine. The accuracy of the tool was also examined and its usefulness was evaluated.

Accelerating Stable Matching between Workers and Spatial-Temporal Tasks for Dynamic MCS: A Stagewise Service Trading Approach

Designing proper incentives in mobile crowdsensing (MCS) networks represents a critical mechanism in engaging distributed mobile users (workers) to contribute heterogeneous data for diverse applications (tasks). We develop a novel stagewise trading framework to reach efficient and stable matching between tasks and workers, upon considering the diversity of tasks and the dynamism of MCS networks. This framework integrates futures and spot trading stages, where in the former, we propose futures trading-driven stable matching and pre-path-planning (FT-SMP3) for long-term task-worker assignment and pre-planning of workers’ paths based on historical statistics and risk analysis. While in the latter, we investigate spot trading-driven DQN path planning and onsite worker recruitment (ST-DP2WR) mechanism to enhance workers’ and tasks’ practical utilities by facilitating temporary worker recruitment. We prove that our proposed mechanisms support crucial properties such as stability, individual rationality, competitive equilibrium, and weak Pareto optimality theoretically. Also, comprehensive evaluations confirm the satisfaction of these properties in practical network settings, demonstrating our commendable performance in terms of service quality, running time, and decision-making overheads. In this paper, a deep residual network based on convolutional block attention module (CBAM) is proposed, which is utilized for feature extraction of partially occluded face expression data. The proposed method overcomes the problem of localized occlusion face feature extraction by focusing on the regions and channels containing important information in the occluded face data through CBAM. Multi-task cascaded convolutional networks (MTCNN) are firstly utilized to localize the key regions of face emotion, and then deep emotion features are extracted by CBAM-ResNet network. The final emotion labels are generated. The effectiveness of this paper's method is verified on the RAF-DB dataset and the occluded CK+ dataset. The experimental accuracy in the RAF-DB dataset is 76.3%, which is 3.74% and 1.64% higher than the accuracy produced by the method of RGBT, and the WLS-RF, respectively. Application experiments are carried out in the real teaching scenario, which verifies the applicability of the algorithm in the real teaching scene. © 2023 IEEE.

Star-Searcher: A Complete and Efficient Aerial System for Autonomous Target Search in Complex Unknown Environments

This paper tackles the challenge of autonomous target search using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in complex unknown environments. To fill the gap in systematic approaches for this task, we introduce Star-Searcher, an aerial system featuring specialized sensor suites, mapping, and planning modules to optimize searching. Path planning challenges due to increased inspection requirements are addressed through a hierarchical planner with a visibility-based viewpoint clustering method. This simplifies planning by breaking it into global and local sub-problems, ensuring efficient global and local path coverage in real-time. Furthermore, our global path planning employs a history-aware mechanism to reduce motion inconsistency from frequent map changes, significantly enhancing search efficiency. We conduct comparisons with state-of-the-art methods in both simulation and the real world, demonstrating shorter flight paths, reduced time, and higher target search completeness. A review of the COVID-19 pandemic in Bahrain has been conducted. Correlations between the parameters describing the coronavirus pandemic have been established. Partially lost data was supplemented by polynomial functions, as well as by linear approximation. The number of those who suffered and those who died from COVID-19 was predicted using SGTM neural-like structure topologies supervised mode. © 2020 IEEE.

Surrogate models, which have become an effective and popular method to close loop reservoir management problems, use a data-driven approach to predict dynamic injection and production wells parameters and optimize waterflooding development. In this study, a deep learning-based surrogate model method is proposed to estimate bottomhole pressure (BHP) of production wells in waterflooding reservoirs. Bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) network, as an efficient deep learning approach, is applied to BHP estimation using fluctuation data. Extended Fourier amplitude sensitivity test (EFAST) method is employed to analyse the influence of different input factors on BHP dynamics, and a reduced dataset is rebuilt to predict BHP parameter based on BiLSTM-EFAST algorithm. The estimation results are tested on a dataset from Volve oilfield in North Sea, and compared with other deep learning methods. The test results indicate that the proposed method can achieve higher prediction accuracy. A reduced dataset-based approach provides a new attempt to reduce model complexity and improve calculation speed for big data-driven surrogate model in oil and gas industry. © 2023 IEEE.

Improving the quality of heart-rate monitoring is the basis for a full-time assessment of people's daily care. Recent state-of-the-art heart-rate monitoring algorithms exploit PPG and inertial data to efficiently estimate subjects' beats-per-minute (BPM) directly on wearable devices. Despite the easy-recording of these signals (e.g., through commercial smartwatches), which makes this approach appealing, new challenges are arising. The first problem is fitting these algorithms into low-power memory-constrained MCUs. Further, the PPG signal usually has a low signal-to-noise ratio due to the presence of motion artifacts (MAs) arising from movements of subjects' arms. In this work, we propose using synthetically generated data to improve the accuracy of PPG-based heart-rate tracking using deep neural networks without increasing the algorithm's complexity. Using the TEMPONet network as baseline, we show that the HR tracking Mean Absolute Error (MAE) can be reduced from 5.28 to 4.86 BPM on PPGDalia dataset. Noteworthy, to do so, we only increase the training time, keeping the inference step unchanged. Consequently, the new and more accurate network can still fit the small memory of the GAP8 MCU, occupying 429 KB when quantized to 8bits. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper is dedicated to the problem of the research of the information and intelligent forecasting systems which solve the problems of regression analysis. This class of the systems includes the systems that use different mathematical apparatus for forecasting, for the implementation of which a wide range of methods and algorithms is used. The paper also deals with the problems of regression analysis using elements of neural network theory. Developing a set of functions to form an approximating function allows you to create models that work efficiently. In existing information and intelligence systems, either implemented functions adapted to solve specific forecasting tasks, or, as in the case of neuropackages, it is considered that the proposed functions can be used to solve a wide range of tasks, adaptation to the conditions of the task occurs during the design of the neural network architecture. To create an approximating function, it is possible to implement linear and non-linear functions, which have proven themselves well in neural network analysis for solving a wide range of tasks and are obtained within the framework of deterministic chaos theory. To implement the function that approximates the dependence of the predicted value on the forecast arguments, the use of a two-layer heterogeneous, artificial neural network without feedback is proposed.
