The paper presents streaming current distributions measured in an overflow system in both laminar and turbulent conditions. For lower values of Reynolds number the profile of current is parabolic. For higher values of Reynolds number the profile is flattened. In this paper also charge density distributions were determined in both cases. In the turbulent regime the volume charge density is distributed in the pipe more evenly compared with the laminar regime.

At suitable value of signal amplitude and frequency many of cavitation bubbles were observed. Collapsing bubbles were responsible for broadband noise included in acoustic emission signal spectra. The main contribution of this paper is the implementation and experimental evaluation of thee radio power control algorithms for wireless sensor networks. We illustrate the necessity of lightweight radio power control algorithms for the deployment of wireless sensor networks in realistic situations. Furthermore, based on a simple loss model, we develop an algorithm that optimizes the transmit power while guaranteeing a desired packet error probability. The simple power control strategy is also compared with two other strategies in experiments using Tmote Sky sensor nodes. A component-based software implementation in the Contiki operating system is used.

In this paper, an input/output system identification technique for the Wiener-Hammerstein model and its feedback extension is proposed. In the proposed framework, the identification of the nonlinearity is non-parametric. The identification problem can be formulated as a non-convex quadratic program (QP). A convex semidefinite programming (SDP) relaxation is then formulated and solved to obtain a sub-optimal solution to the original non-convex QP. The convex relaxation turns out to be tight in most cases. Combined with the use of local search, high quality solutions to the Wiener-Hammerstein identification can frequently be found. As an application example, randomly generated Wiener-Hammerstein models are identified.

With the wide spread of video usage in many fields of our lives, it becomes very important to develop new techniques for video denoising. Spatial video denoising using wavelet transform has been the focus of the current researches as it requires less computation and more suitable for real-time applications. Two specific techniques for spatial video denoising using wavelet transform are considered in this work: 2D Discrete Wavelet Transform (2D DWT) and 2D Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform (2D DTCWT). Each of these techniques has its advantages and disadvantages. The first technique gives less quality at high levels of noise but consumes less time while the second gives high quality video while consuming long. In this work, we introduce an intelligent denoising system that makes a tradeoff between the quality of the denoised video and the time required for denoising. The system first estimates the noise level in the video frame then accordingly chooses the proper of the two denoising techniques to apply on the frame. The simulation results show that the proposed system is more suitable for real-time applications where the time is critical while giving high quality videos especially at low to moderate levels of noise.
