In this article, a control/communication scheme for mobile robots operating in an uncertain environment in a target localization problem is considered. These robots need to exchange information with a base station via a mobile ad-hoc wireless network. This network is composed of both stationary and mobile nodes. Experimental results indicate a significant deterioration of the robot performance when the network is congested and the RF-signal strength is low resulting in loss of packets. Primitive, yet reliable cooperative schemes are evaluated in a target acquisition problem and experimental results are offered to validate the efficacy of the suggested scheme

In this paper a novel approach to the impulsive noise removal in color images is presented. The proposed technique employs the switching scheme based on the impulse detection mechanism using the so called peer group concept. Compared to the vector median filter, the proposed technique consistently yields better results in suppressing the random-valued impulsive noise. The main advantage of the proposed noise detection framework is its high computational speed, which enables efficient filtering of large images in real-time applications. The proposed filtering scheme has been successfully applied to the denoising of the cDNA microarray images. Experimental results proved that the new filter is capable of removing efficiently the impulses present in multichannel images, while preserving their textural features

In this paper, a novel wireless load-sharing controller for islanding parallel inverters in an AC-distributed system is proposed. The paper explores the resistive output impedance of the parallel-connected inverters in an island microgrid. The control loops are devised and analyzed taking into account the special nature of a low voltage microgrid, in which the line impedance is mainly resistive and the distance between the inverters makes the control intercommunication between them difficult. In contrast with the conventional droop control method, the proposed controller uses resistive output impedance, and as a result a different control law is obtained. The controller is implemented by using a DSP board, which only uses local measurements of the unit, thus increasing the modularity, reliability, and flexibility of the distributed system. Experimental results are provided from two 6 kVA inverters connected in parallel, showing the features of the proposed wireless control
