When two face images are shown to a subject, the subject’s preference choice is influenced by many factors. Although it is a challenging task, one way to detect a subject’s preference is to analyze the eye movement gaze cascade in the recorded video sequence together with a set of extracted attributes (features). Combinatorial fusion algorithm (CFA) is a new information fusion and machine learning paradigm for combining multiple scoring systems using rank-score characteristic (RSC) function and cognitive diversity (CD). In this paper, we apply CFA in the analysis of the eye movement gaze cascade sequence. In particular, we characterize each of the attributes and measure the diversity between two attributes using RSC function and CD respectively. The novelty of the combinatorial fusion approach is the new paradigm of incorporating both score function and rank function as well as using both score combination and rank combination. In addition, our results demonstrate that weighted rank combination has some advantage over weighted score combination when the weight is measured using diversity strength. Since diversity strength depends only on cognitive diversity between two attributes but not on any specific sequence in the eye movement gaze cascade, our result facilitates learning and modeling in an unsupervised manner. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Compressing supercapacitor(SCs)electrode is essential for improving the energy storage characteristics and minimizing ions’distance travel,faradaic reactions,and overall ohmic *** comprising the ion dynamics in SC electrodes under compression are still ***,the ionic dynamics of five aqueous electrolytes in electrodes under compression were studied in this work for tracking electrochemical and structural changes under mechanical stress.A superionic state is formed when the electrode is compressed until the micropores match the dimensions with the electrolyte’s hydrated ion sizes,which increases the *** excessive compression is applied,the accessible pore regions decrease,and the capacitance ***,as the studied hydrated ions have different dimensions,the match between ion/pore sizes *** the LiOH and NaClO4electrolytes,increasing the pressure from 60 to 120 and 100 PSI raised the capacitance from 13.5 to 35.2 F g^(-1)and 30.9 to 39.0 F g^(-1),***,the KOH electrolyte with the lowest and LiCl with the biggest combination of hydrated ion size have their point of maximum capacitance(39.5 and 36.7F g^(-1))achieved at 140 and 80 PSI,*** LiCl and KCl electrolytes,overcompression causes a drop in capacitance higher than 23%.

This paper reviews three main aspects of authentication protocols of Internet of Things (IoT): classifications and limitations, current trends, and opportunities. First, we explore the significance of IoT authentication protocols in ensuring secure communication and the protection of transmitted and received data, focusing on the classifications and associated limitations. Second, we discuss the latest developments and trends, such as using blockchain technology and machine learning to enhance authentication protocols. Third, we highlight the future opportunities, including the development of human-centric authentication designs and improved platform interoperability. At the end of this paper, we provided some insights gained for the new researcher, offering analyses of the trends and challenges in this field, giving recommendations for improving IoT authentication protocols, and emphasizing the need for further research and cooperation to develop advanced security solutions. © 2016 IEEE.

Large language models (LLMs) empowered by chain-of-thought (CoT) prompting have yielded remarkable prowess in reasoning tasks. Nevertheless, current methods predominantly lean on handcrafted or task-specific demonstrations, lack reliable knowledge basis and thus struggle for trustworthy responses in an automated pattern. While recent works endeavor to improve upon one certain aspect, they ignore the importance and necessity of establishing an integrated and interpretable reasoning system. To address these drawbacks and provide a universal solution, we propose AuRoRA: a one-for-all platform for augmented reasoning and refining based on CoT prompting that excels in adaptability, reliability, integrity, and interpretability. This paper presents Artisan, an automated operational amplifier design framework using large language models (LLMs). We develop a bidirectional representation to align abstract circuit topologies with their structural and functional semantics. We further employ Tree-of-Thoughts and Chain-of-Thoughts approaches to model the design process as a hierarchical question-answer sequence, implemented by a mechanism of multi-agent interaction. A high-quality opamp dataset is developed to enhance the design proficiency of the Artisan-LLM. Experimental results demonstrate that Artisan outperforms state-of-the-art optimization-based methods and benchmark LLMs, in success rate, circuit performance metrics, and interpretability, while accelerating the design process by up to 50.1X. Although the building of quantum computers has kept making rapid progress in recent years, noise is still the main challenge for any application to leverage the power of quantum computing. Existing works addressing noise in quantum devices proposed noise reduction when deploying a quantum algorithm to a specified quantum computer. The reproducibility issue of quantum algorithms has been raised since the noise levels vary on different quantum computers. Importantly, existing works largely ignore the fact that the noise of quantum devices varies as time goes by. Therefore, reproducing the results on the same hardware will even become a problem. We analyze the reproducibility of quantum machine learning (QML) algorithms based on daily model training and execution data collection. Our analysis shows a correlation between our QML models' test accuracy and quantum computer hardware's calibration features. We also demonstrate that noisy simulators for quantum computers are not a reliable tool for quantum machine learning applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence(AI) systems surpass certain human intelligence abilities in a statistical sense as a whole, but are not yet the true realization of these human intelligence abilities and behaviors. There are differences, and even contradictions, between the cognition and behavior of AI systems and humans. With the goal of achieving general AI, this study contains a review of the role of cognitive science in inspiring the development of the three mainstream academic branches of AI based on the three-layer framework proposed by David Marr, and the limitations of the current development of AI are explored and analyzed. The differences and inconsistencies between the cognition mechanisms of the human brain and the computation mechanisms of AI systems are analyzed. They are found to be the cause of the differences and contradictions between the cognition and behavior of AI systems and humans. Additionally, eight important research directions and their scientific issues that need to focus on braininspired AI research are proposed: highly imitated bionic information processing, a large-scale deep learning model that balances structure and function, multi-granularity joint problem solving bidirectionally driven by data and knowledge, AI models that simulate specific brain structures, a collaborative processing mechanism with the physical separation of perceptual processing and interpretive analysis, embodied intelligence that integrates the brain cognitive mechanism and AI computation mechanisms,intelligence simulation from individual intelligence to group intelligence(social intelligence), and AI-assisted brain cognitive intelligence.
