In this paper, a novel digital image watermarking scheme has been proposed based on spread spectrum technique. By exploiting complex exponential function to generate a multiple-rings shaped pattern, the watermark is invariant to rotation and translation, and resilient to scaling without truly inverse transformations needed. The proposed technique is performed in regular frequency domain without additional log-polar mapping required which can reduce computational complexity of such transformation. Furthermore, the original image is not needed for detection in this technique. Experimental results demonstrate performance of the proposed scheme that the watermark is correctly detected although the image was undergone by geometric and non-geometric transforms.

A Design of Asynchronous Quasi‐Delay Insensitive computer

This paper proposes the self‐timed circuit design. Quasi‐delay insensitive circuit is introduced as asynchronous prototype. The designed circuit focuses on asynchronous processor design. The processor employs asynchronous system bus, asynchronous DMA controller and synchronous interfaces. The system almost completely asynchrony operation except I/O devices and memory interfaces, due to a limitation on the present time devices, the designed has been implemented on spartan‐3E FPGA no. 3S500EFG320 by partitioning each module to prevent place and routing conflict, 100‐Mhz memory frequency connected, and consumes 141, 063 equivalent gate counts. Finally, the timing details of each instruction execution are shown.

This paper presents a power-efficient parallel cache coherence protocol for network-on-chip interconnection fabric on many core chips. With the increasing numbers of processor cores, a directory-based cache coherence protocol is more scalable and expected to be used for the future chip architectures. However, the characterization of directory-based protocol on a NoC platform shows that many cycles are used to perform command communications to ensure the data consistency before a data packet is transmitted or processed, which restricts the performance. In this paper, a parallel cache coherence protocol is designed to address the problem, which decouples the transmission of the data packets and command packets. Specifically, the parallel mechanism also provides an opportunity to reduce power consumption by using power-optimized wires. A formal speedup model has been established to estimate the performance of this approach. Simulation experiments show significant performance improvement and good system scalability: (1) the average latency reductions are 4.38%, 5.35%, 8.53% and 11.25% for 16, 32, 64, and 128-cores, respectively;(2) the numbers of the L2 cache accesses are greatly reduced;(3) the proposed protocol improves the system performance with up to 18.6%;and (4) the average power savings are 5.66%, 8.14%, 10.73%, and 13.23% for 16, 32, 64 and 128-cores, respectively. © 2011 IEEE.

Developed countries have made significant efforts to integrate UAV operations in controlled aerial space due to a rising interest of using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for civilian purposes. This study focuses the use of multi-agent architecture to distribute the workload of detecting and solving conflicts between the aircraft and the UAV with no intervention from ground-based facilities. Midair collision risk was the main unsafe situation evaluated using an aircraft collision model based on air traffic density data.

This paper proposes an approach for reducing additional signals in signal transition graph (STG) based logic synthesis for asynchronous control circuits. The proposed scheme introduces a template based method in state encoding process to insert additional signals to STG with a small number. According to our method, complete state coding (CSC) property can be satisfied without using state graph tracing which is used in classical state based method. Our method is useful for large scale asynchronous controllers, and also it can guarantee the other relevant properties, such as persistency and consistency. Our process begins with an encoding STG using Petri-net level in order to form a template STG. Then the projection to each non-input signals from an original STG is done. After that, we trace the projection to smaller state space. If the small state space shows conflicts, we have to insert balance signals from template STG. Unbalance signals are inserted after in case the space still shows conflicts. Finally, we can get the STG with appropriate insertion points which is used to be projected for CSC support on each non-input signals. Asynchronous DMA controller is an example of our proposed method. The final part of this paper is concluded with a complexity comparison between our template based method with state based method and structural encoding method. It shows that the number of iterative signal removal according to our method is less than others.

It is widely recognized that the timely acquisition and presentation of accurate physiological data is a vital aid to the anaesthesiologist in monitoring and maintaining the well-being of a patient undergoing surgery. Collecting, storing, synchronizing, integrating, evaluating, and retrieving pertinent information from patient data remains very difficult due to limited computer power, the need for specialized software, inconsistency between monitoring devices, and inadequate data storage. This paper introduces the general steps of data acquisition in anaesthesia and summarizes some data acquisition systems. It also introduces some applications of the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence (AI) to data acquisition, illustrating how AI techniques may be used to advantage to assist the anaesthesiologist in monitoring and interpreting such data. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of virtual reality (VR) technologies in higher education has been growing in recent years due to their didactic potential in the most diverse areas of knowledge. However, the implementation of VR in universities is affected by several factors, including the level of digitization of the country or the tenure, private or public, of the universities. In this paper, a quantitative, descriptive and correlational research is carried out on the assessments of a group of professors in Peru about the use of VR in their lectures and on the differences in these perceptions according to the tenure of the university of the participants. For this purpose, a validated questionnaire was used, and its responses were statistically analyzed. The results reveal that professors express high ratings for the use of VR but show insufficient levels of digital skills for its use. In addition, professors from private universities give higher ratings of the didactic and usability aspects of VR. It is suggested that VR equipment and faculty training should be strengthened. © 2023 IEEE.

The attacking of the infrastructure of the computer network is seems to be one of the major problems. The increasing number of the Internet user all over the world comes with the risk that occurs from many network threats. One of the major tools for protecting the network attacking is the intrusion detection system (IDS), which make the system being the first target that will be attacked by the intruder. As we cannot avoid them, the problem is when there is an attack, how does the intrusion detection system survived. In this research, we show the restriction of the present intrusion detection system architecture and propose the new architecture that can handle the attack via the network and survive from it, using the mobile agent technology with the network topology design that hides the main resource of the network behind the intrusion detection system which separates network resource into segments and installs the monitored host onto each of network segment for robustness from all pattern of the attacking. The design avoid the single point of failure, shadow agent, together with proxy agent, fast backup and recovery mechanism, multicast group and the encryption of the communication between all the IDS for the network security.
