A personal assistance, is a software component offering advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI) features by initiating and making a "conversations" between humans and machines. Its main objective is to identify the sentences and the context from human's question and respectively give an adequate response to the question posed. The proper response is given after analyzing the words of the question with those registered in its database. This type of application is called a personal assistant - chatbot. In this work, such an application is presented where it can be installed in any smart home as well as assisted living environment. Through the application, all automations, as well as the home robot also, are controlled by human voice in Greek language. Also, a number of auxiliary applications can be performed in the direction of better human service. © 2018 Tei of Western Macedonia.

This paper presents a shape prediction algorithm in a noisy video sequence based on pixel representation in the undecimated wavelet *** our algorithm for tracking of user-defined shapes in a noisy sequence of images,the amplitude of coefficients in the best basis tree expansion of the undecimated wavelet packet transform are used as feature vectors (FVs).FVs robustness against noise has been achieved through inherent denoising and edge component separation in the best basis selection *** algorithm uses these FVs to track the pixels of small square blocks located at the vicinity of the object *** for the best-matched block has been performed using conventional block matching algorithm in the wavelet *** experimental results show that the algorithm is robust to noise in case of object's shape translation,rotation and/or scaling and can be used to track both rigid and nonrigid shapes in image sequences.

With the growing importance of social media for brand engagement, there remains a limited understanding of how specific metrics—such as Reach, Followers, and New Followers—impact Instagram user interaction over time. This research seeks to address this gap by examining which variables most effectively drive Engagement on Instagram, providing insights for strategic content optimization. Through an analysis of 100 posts, using multiple linear regression and decision tree methods, the study investigates the relationship between Reach, Followers, New Followers, and Engagement. Results indicate that Reach, Followers, and New Followers are not statistically significant predictors of Engagement, as evidenced by high p-values (all > 0.05). Decision tree results demonstrate a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.0226 and an R2 Score of 0.8003, suggesting moderate predictive accuracy but with potential for refinement. Moving average analysis reveals fluctuating Engagement with no stable long-term trend. A correlation matrix further shows that Reach and New Followers exhibit high correlations with Engagement (0.9723 and 0.9707, respectively), while Followers show a weak correlation (0.2575). These findings highlight the limited impact of Followers on Engagement, underscoring the importance of Reach and New Followers. This study contributes novel insights by identifying key engagement drivers, emphasizing the need for more targeted strategies in Instagram campaign planning to enhance user interaction. © 2024 IEEE.

Health has recently faced many challenges, including improving a healthy environment and reducing human life's dangers and economic crises. The last pandemic COVID-19 had badly affected survivor sectors with infection and lockdown exigence. Scientists proposed several solutions to reduce the negative impact of a such pandemic by proposing systems for earlier detection of viruses. The use of metamaterials as an emerging technology in the biosensors field allows a high accuracy. This paper presents a method for detecting and capturing airborne viruses using metasurface technology. The goal is to develop a system that can identify and capture these viruses using FET sensors. The accuracy of the detection is tied to the concentration of aerosols. The model proposes a guided flow of aerosols that positively impacts the detection of viruses through the FET biosensor. The simulation results based on Concentration and airflow velocity delays prove the proposed model's performance. © 2022 IEEE.

The growth of digital content generation and its access by the general public have, for the past few years, promoted the importance of resources' metadata, and enhanced the debate on their generation and quality. The improvement of new technologies and users needs have led to new metadata generation practices, which include the author-generated metadata. By studying the current literature on the subject we analyzed the author-generated metadata quality used on a given IPTV service. From the results of this study we propose an alternative methodology for insertion of metadata by the service user, where an auto-complete engine is applied aiming to enhance the system's metadata quality.

In this paper, we present a random sampling algorithm to solve the shortest vector problem (SVP). The idea of our algorithm comes from the Gaussian hypothesis, which is one of the most important and commonly used hypotheses in solving SVP. The main idea of our method is to generate the points which approximately satisfy Gaussian hypothesis of a given lattice. To find the shortest vector, we set some rules to make the result of this sampling algorithm get shorter progressively. We evaluate our algorithm by statistical and geometrical tools and give a basic analysis of the efficiency of algorithm. According to our analysis, parameters can be optimized to achieve high efficiency. Practical experiments have been conducted to validate our result where we solve SVP instances with dimension from 80 to 100. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

When a large-scale disaster such as earthquake occurs, a huge number of victims will be trapped under debris in a wide area. Rescue activities in debris are technically not easy and endanger the first responders. There are several methods for improving safety and efficiency of rescue operation, but their availability is limited to a certain area or short operating time. Our project called CURSOR is developing tools to comprehensively search victims using a large number of ground-based robots entering debris transported by aerial drones. Here we show the development of the exploration robot collecting information with several sensors. The robot system was designed based on the requirements and performance was evaluated by ruggedization tests and mobility tests. No critical problem was found in the durability, and the mobility showed as the same as the ordinary wheel. To improve the mobility, we are planning to apply a proposed unique track mechanism. © 2021 Information systems for Crisis Response and Management, ISCRAM. All rights reserved.

A comprehensive understanding of physiological data is essential for anesthesiologists to monitor and maintain the health of surgical patients. Understanding anesthetic signals is essential to improve over the past ten decades to comprehend a variety of diseases, ensure the safety of patients, and accelerate their recovery. We identified and summarized four themes of artificial intelligence (AI) research in anesthesia: applications of AI in anesthesiology, signals monitored in different anesthesia stages, commonly monitored signs, and data standardization. The effect of various AI technologies on data analysis was studied, and the types, functions, sensors, characteristics, and intelligent analysis of physiological signals monitored during anesthesia are presented in this article. AI influences anesthesia practices in many ways, including preoperative data evaluation, anesthetic depth monitoring, and postoperative event prediction. © 2024 IEEE.

To satisfy the service-side requirements for network layer authentication and traceability of users, this paper proposes a method for mobile terminal authentication and identity tracing based on IPv6 and blockchain. Our method introduces a new verification function (VEF) to verify the interface identification between the terminal and the 5G core network (5GC), thereby effectively enhancing the security of terminal access. Furthermore, considering the privacy protection of user identity information to prevent attackers from deducing encrypted content, it is necessary to periodically update encryption keys. Focusing on the practical deployment of VEFs on a network-wide scale and server-proximal for authentication and traceability, a time-varying key sharing scheme based on blockchain is proposed. The experimental section analyzes the communication performance and security of the proposed scheme, showing that our scheme does not significantly degrade the original network performance while providing substantial security gains. © 2024 IEEE.

A maximum-likelihood channel estimator for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication environments, in presence of interference is discussed here. We study a training based scenario, where the channel is estimated based on pilots that precede the transmission of the information. To reduce the number of estimation parameters, we estimate the channel iteratively in timedomain. Since interference from other users provides no useful information we do not estimate parameters of the interference and neither we neglect the affect of the interference instead interference along with Gaussian noise is perceived as non-Gaussian noise. The algorithm assumes no apriori knowledge about the interfering channel and signal at the receiver, further no-assumption on the statistical properties of the interferer is assumed which makes this algorithm robust. The estimated channel information along with the estimated distribution are then utilized to equalize the subsequent data blocks.
