Cluster-preserving sampling algorithm for large-scale graphs

Graph sampling is a very effective method to deal with scalability issues when analyzing largescale graphs. Lots of sampling algorithms have been proposed, and sampling qualities have been quantified using explicit properties(e.g., degree distribution) of the sample. However, the existing sampling techniques are inadequate for the current sampling task: sampling the clustering structure, which is a crucial property of the current networks. In this paper, using different expansion strategies, two novel top-leader sampling methods(i.e., TLS-e and TLS-i) are proposed to obtain representative samples, and they are capable of effectively preserving the clustering structure. The rationale behind them is to select top-leader nodes of most clusters into the sample and then heuristically incorporate peripheral nodes into the sample using specific expansion strategies. Extensive experiments are conducted to investigate how well sampling techniques preserve the clustering structure of graphs. Our empirical results show that the proposed sampling algorithms can preserve the population's clustering structure well and provide feasible solutions to sample the clustering structure from large-scale graphs.

Ceramic waveguide filters have been popular in 5G wireless system *** article proposes an effective solution to enable the ceramic waveguide filter to be electrically *** detail,a new varactor-tunable structure is developed to electrically control the resonant frequency(TE101 mode)of the ceramic waveguide *** novel coupling and feeding con-figurations are investigated,thus allowing the coupling coefficient and external quality factor(Qe)to be flexibly specified according to the prescribed *** element variable coupling matrices(EVCMs)for two-pole,three-pole cascade triplet(CT),four-pole cascade quadruplet(CQ),six-pole CT,and six-pole CQ filters with constant bandwidth are prescribed as the electrically-tunable *** the designs for the lossless filters are presented,and design results in agreement with the theory ones demonstrate the correctness of the proposed *** six-pole tunable CQ and CT filters are fabricated and assembled with the commercial-available *** measurement results show that the quasi-elliptic responses of two six-pole ceramic filters can be tuned from 3.4 GHz to 3.8 GHz by adjusting the tuning ***,the loading impact of the varactors on the unloaded quality factor(Qu)of the filter is further discussed.A fixed filter and an additional tunable filter are implemented and used to verify the investigation.

Recently,deep learning methods have been widely used in hyperspectral image(HSI)classification and achieved good ***,the performance of these methods may be limited because of the scarcity of labeled samples in HSI *** solve the small-sample classification problem,a deep contrastive learning network(DCLN)method is proposed in this *** proposed DCLN method first constructs contrastive groups and trains the network through contrastive ***,it uses the trained network to extract spectral-spatial features of HSI pixels and generates pseudo-label for each unlabeled sample based on the spatial-spectral mixing ***,the pseudo-labeled samples with higher confidence are selected and added to the original training set to retrain the *** gradually increasing pseudo-labeled samples and refining the contrastive learning network,the model shows good feature learning ability and classification performance with the limited labeled *** results on 4 public HSI datasets demonstrate that the proposed DCLN method can achieve better performance than existing state-of-the-art methods.

This paper presents an innovative control strategy to enhance the stability of interconnected Microgrids (MGs) with low inertia and high penetration levels of Renewable Energies (REs). The proposed control strategy encompasses a new virtual droop control mechanism that emulates the primary control of synchronous generators for enhanced system stability. Additionally, a weighted Proportional-Integral (PI) controller is used to mitigate the adverse effects of measurement delays caused by Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) dynamics. Furthermore, a feedback integral loop is introduced to improve the efficiency and lifespan of Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFBs) enabling swift and precise power delivery while reducing steady-state errors. Finally, a new fractional-order virtual inertia control (VIC) is introduced to leverage the fractional derivatives and enhance the system's frequency response. The presented simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach in improving the frequency response and power exchange dynamics across interconnected MGs under various operating scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

The need for energy is at an increasing pace and it cannot be easily fulfilled by the normal energy systems which affect the environment in various ways. To overcome this problem, a hybrid power system (HPS) is used nowadays which is a combination of energy systems based on renewable and non-renewable. This study presents a wind hybrid energy system using a modified genetic algorithm mainly aimed at minimizing the implementation cost, and emission levels, and maximizing the high power supply reliability. The optimization results are improved by integrating the sizing methods to prevent load interruptions. The fitness function of the modified GA is set as power supply probability (LPSP) loss and nonrenewable energy factor (NREF). This model is confirmed by a case study and the optimal HPS results are evaluated with the conventional techniques. With the help of the battery depth of discharge, the discharge and state charge of battery are optimized. The outcome of the suggested model proves that it achieves effective LPSP output with appropriate sizing capacities by utilizing both solar and wind power. © 2024 IEEE.

Experimental validation of multiferroic antennas in GHz frequency range

Various mechanical antennas have emerged to overcome the inherently narrower bandwidth and degraded efficiency in electrically small antennas. Among them, multiferroic antennas are expected to realize high-frequency applications and maintain their performance, even with significantly reduced sizes. However, experimental proof of such radiation from multiferroic or magnetoelectric coupling in the GHz range deserves further examination. This paper designs and fabricates a series of multiferroic antenna samples with mechanical resonances at around 3.5 and 6 GHz, and their radiation transmissions are tested at these resonances. Nickel, a magnetoelastic material, consistently exhibits magnetically induced radiation at both resonances. However, magnetic material consisting of Permalloy (Ni78Fe22), known for its much weaker magnetoelastic effects, still shows similar transmission behaviors at 3.67 GHz and enhanced power absorption at 6.42 GHz. Our results indicate that the dynamic response of magnetoelastic materials in the GHz band should differ from their response at the MHz and below bands. This evidence calls for further investigations of the source of magnetoelectric radiation. © 2023 Author(s).

In the context of this investigation, we introduce an innovative mathematical model designed to elucidate the intricate dynamics underlying the transmission of Anthroponotic Cutaneous Leishmania. This model offers a comprehensive exploration of the qualitative characteristics associated with the transmission process. Employing the next-generation method, we deduce the threshold value R0 for this model. We rigorously explore both local and global stability conditions in the disease-free scenario, contingent upon R0 being less than unity. Furthermore, we elucidate the global stability at the disease-free equilibrium point by leveraging the Castillo-Chavez method. In contrast, at the endemic equilibrium point, we establish conditions for local and global stability, when R0 exceeds unity. To achieve global stability at the endemic equilibrium, we employ a geometric approach, a Lyapunov theory extension, incorporating a secondary additive compound matrix. Additionally, we conduct sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of various parameters on the threshold number. Employing center manifold theory, we delve into bifurcation analysis. Estimation of parameter values is carried out using least squares curve fitting techniques. Finally, we present a comprehensive discussion with graphical representation of key parameters in the concluding section of the paper. © 2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press. This paper aims to achieve scalable exact output synchronization for discrete-time homogeneous multi-agent systems in the presence of disturbances and measurement noise with known frequencies. The key contribution of this paper is on the distributed protocol that only uses the information of agent models, rather than the communication network information and the agent number, so as to achieve the scalable exact synchronization under disturbances and measurement noise. The validity of the protocol is verified by numerical simulations with arbitrarily chosen number of agents. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Background: The intricate architecture of container orchestration systems like Kubernetes relies on the critical role of declarative manifest files that serve as the blueprints for orchestration. However, managing these manifest files often presents complex challenges requiring significant DevOps expertise. Methodology: This position paper explores using Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate the generation of Kubernetes manifest files through natural language specifications and prompt engineering, aiming to simplify Kubernetes management. The study evaluates these LLMs using Zero-Shot, Few-Shot, and Prompt-Chaining techniques against DevOps requirements and the ability to support fully automated deployment pipelines. Results show that LLMs can produce Kubernetes manifests with varying degrees of manual intervention, with GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 showing potential for fully automated deployments. Interestingly, smaller models sometimes outperform larger ones, questioning the assumption that bigger is always better. Conclusion: The study emphasizes that prompt engineering is critical to optimizing LLM outputs for Kubernetes. It suggests further research into prompt strategies and LLM comparisons and highlights a promising research direction for integrating LLMs into automatic deployment pipelines. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – Science and Technology Publications, Lda.
