Mental stress is an enduring problem in human life. The level of stress increases exponentially with an increase in the complexity of work life. Hence, it is imperative to understand the causes of stress, a prerequisite of which is the ability to determine the level of stress. Electroencephalography (EEG) has been the most widely used signal for understanding stress levels. However, EEG signal is useful only when appropriate algorithms can be used to extract the properties relevant to stress analysis. This paper reviews algorithms for preprocessing, feature extraction and learning, and classification of EEG, and reports on their advantages and disadvantages for stress analysis. This review will help researchers to choose the most effective pipeline of algorithms for stress analysis using EEG signals. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In challenging operational environments such as underground buildings beneath roadways, reliability and performance of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems for electric vehicles (EVs) heavily hinge on the operating temperature of the magnetic couplers. Addressing this, this study introduces a novel approach employing heat sink and thermoelectric cooler technologies to mitigate temperature rise in magnetic couplers, which is particularly crucial for high-power applications. Utilizing ANSYS simulation, the study evaluates a WPT high-power application coil model with a total output power of 2 KW and an 18 cm air gap, with a 3.5 cm adjacent alignment to enhance thermal performance on both transmitter and receiver sides. Results demonstrate significant thermal enhancement, reducing the temperature of coils from 63◦ C to 54◦ C solely with the heat sink and further down to 48◦ C with the combined implementation of both heat sink and thermoelectric cooler. These measures effectively dissipate heat from the coils into the surrounding air, ensuring system efficiency and stability while facilitating functionality of system components. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. The augmented Lagrangian method can be used for finding the least 2 - norm solution of a linear programming problem. This approach’s primary advantage is that it leads to the minimization of an unconstrained problem with a piecewise quadratic, convex, and differentiable objective function. However, this function lacks an ordinary Hessian, which precludes the use of a fast Newton method. In this paper, we apply the smoothing techniques and solve an unconstrained smooth reformulation of this problem using a fast Newton method. Computational results and comparisons are illustrated through multiple numerical examples to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In the future wireless networks, terrestrial, aerial, space, and maritime wireless networks are integrated into a unified network to meet the needs of a fully connected global network. Nowadays, vehicular communication has become one of the challenging applications of wireless networks. In this article, we aim to address the radio resource management in Cellular V2X (C-V2X) networks using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). The goal of this problem is to maximize the spectral efficiency of vehicular users in Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) networks under a fronthaul constraint. To solve this problem, a two-stage approach is utilized. In the first stage, vehicles in dense area are clustered based on their geographical locations, predicted location of vehicles, and speeds. Then UAVs are deployed to serve the clusters. In the second stage, NOMA groups are formed within each cluster and radio resources are allocated to vehicles based on NOMA groups. An optimization problem is formulated and a suboptimal method is used to solve it. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated through simulations where results demonstrate superiority of proposed method in spectral efficiency, min point, and distance.

This work proposes a novel distributed approach for computing a Nash equilibrium in convex games with restricted strongly monotone pseudo-gradients. By leveraging the idea of the centralized operator extrapolation method presented in [4] to solve variational inequalities, we develop the algorithm converging to Nash equilibria in games, where players have no access to the full information but are able to communicate with neighbors over some communication graph. The convergence rate is demonstrated to be geometric and improves the rates obtained by the previously presented procedures seeking Nash equilibria in the class of games under consideration.

In the context of collaborative robotics,distributed situation awareness is essential for supporting collective intelligence in teams of robots and human agents where it can be used for both individual and collective decision *** is particularly important in applications pertaining to emergency rescue and crisis *** operational missions,data and knowledge are gathered incrementally and in different ways by heterogeneous robots and *** describe this as the creation of Hastily Formed Knowledge Networks(HFKNs).The focus of this paper is the specification and prototyping of a general distributed system architecture that supports the creation of HFKNs by teams of robots and *** information collected ranges from low-level sensor data to high-level semantic knowledge,the latter represented in part as RDF *** framework includes a synchronization protocol and associated algorithms that allow for the automatic distribution and sharing of data and knowledge between *** is done through the distributed synchronization of RDF Graphs shared between ***-level semantic queries specified in SPARQL can be used by robots and humans alike to acquire both knowledge and data content from team *** system is empirically validated and complexity results of the proposed algorithms are ***,a field robotics case study is described,where a 3D mapping mission has been executed using several UAVs in a collaborative emergency rescue scenario while using the full HFKN Framework.

Cloud-oriented infrastructure posed itself as a predominant deployment paradigm in the recent decade due to its ease of provisioning and relatively low cost. However, entrusting a third party with sensitive data in a multi-tenant environment brings about increased data breach risks. The aim of this paper is to give an insight into challenges and threats encountered in mitigating data breach and repudiation risks for service providers utilizing cloud-based environments. Through constructing and studying a possible cloud-based service, we form a corresponding threat model with a special focus on risks originating from internal actors. We explore confidential computing as a possible solution for data confidentiality and mitigation of internal data breach risks for Software as a Service (SaaS) providers. © 2021 Croatian Society MIPRO.

With the rapid advances in computer vision, human action recognition has gradually received attention, but the current methods still exhibit some problems in indoor environments. The human skeleton, as the framework of human motion, contains high-quality actional feature information, and the skeleton-based action recognition method effectively avoid the interference of interior background noise and has advantages in indoor action recognition. The outstanding effect of graph convolutional networks on graph structure data processing has led to its rapid development and wide application in skeleton-based action recognition. Second-order skeletal information also contains a large number of actional features but is not effectively utilized. The artificial predefined topology of the human skeleton map has limitations, and cannot reflect the interaction between limbs. To solve the above problems, this article designs an adaptive weighted multi-stream graph convolutional network (AM-GCN) based on skeletal information, using an attention mechanism to enhance the network's ability to extract actional features, and an adaptive layer to make the construction graph more flexible, incorporating second-order skeletal features through a dual-stream architecture. In this article, the NTU-RGB+D dataset has been used for the experiments, the results show that the method in this article has good results. © 2023 IEEE.

In the process of steel plate production, predicting the plate shape is of great significance for producing high-quality and consistently stable plate shapes. This paper presents a model that predicts both the defect types and flatness of the plate, providing theoretical support for setting process parameters in roller quenching production. First, the parameters of the quenching process are analyzed to identify their characteristics. Then, the K-Means clustering algorithm and correlation analysis are employed to process the quenching process parameters. A gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) model is used to predict the defect types and flatness of the steel plates. Finally, industrial production data is utilized for experimental validation. The obtained experimental results verify the reliability of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, stochastic detectors have gained prominence in networked systems for anomaly detection. These detectors have demonstrated advantages over their traditional counterparts, particularly in safe-guarding against data integrity attacks targeting state estimation. Despite these advancements, the impact of the detector on alarm performance-such as alarm-triggering rates at normal conditions-remains under-explored, especially in scenarios where delay timers are applied to the raw alarm sequence. This study delves into the monitoring of a correlated Gaussian process variable using stochastic detectors. An explicit formula for the alarm performance is given, highlighting how it is influenced by the duration of delay timers. The efficacy of the proposed approach is validated through numerical examples and a simplified process model.
