In recent years, finger movement execution and motor imagery have become a new method in the field of motor function rehabilitation after stroke, which has important reference value for the rehabilitation of patients with motor dysfunction. The ability of motor imagery retained by stroke patients makes it possible to recover the function of neural plasticity motor system. In this paper, conditional Granger causality analysis method is used. On the premise that the residuals of the subjects meet the Durbin White test criterion (P>0.60), five network nodes directly related to motor function are selected to analyze and compare the conditional Granger causality connectivity and connection strength between these regions. Drawing the whole brain network diagram of left-hand finger movement execution and movement imagination, getting the connection direction and connection strength of each brain network node, looking for objective quantitative indicators, which can be used as indicators of rehabilitation of stroke patients. The whole brain network diagram clearly shows that the left pre-motor area (PMA) has a stimulating connection to the other three regions during the execution of the left-hand finger movement. In the process of left-handed finger motion imagination, the left-PMA has stimulating connections to the other two regions, and the stimulating connections to other regions are the most in the five regions. Through the study, it was found that in the exercise execution and motor imagination of the left hand, the stimulation of the left-PMA on other regions was more obvious than that of other regions, and the connection between this region and other regions was also stronger, which could accelerate the recovery process of patients by strengthening the treatment of the left-PMA in the late treatment of stroke patients.

The automated test case generation includes the manual test cases, which are converted to automated test cases through executable test scripts. It is more essential to bring out an effective resilience testing for network gateways. The automation testing plays a major role in performing time constrained and skillful work. Moreover, the network gateways will not take part in onetime investment, even when the technology or environment evolves, the test scripts are continuously patched based on the market demands. Thus, the automation testing is remaining as a challenging task to define and test automatically in a cost-effective mode. The developed device is called as femtocell, which helps to effectively densify the network and deliver a great customer experience in small indoor environments. It is checked to meet the real world scenarios under resilience test cases. It is performed by various manual test cases. Moreover, this project automates the manual test cases. © 2021 IEEE.

Exercise-based rehabilitation programs have proven to be effective in enhancing the quality of life and reducing mortality and rehospitalization rates. AI-driven virtual rehabilitation, which allows patients to independently complete exercises at home, utilizes AI algorithms to analyze exercise data, providing feedback to patients and updating clinicians on their progress. These programs commonly prescribe a variety of exercise types, leading to a distinct challenge in rehabilitation exercise assessment datasets: while abundant in overall training samples, these datasets often have a limited number of samples for each individual exercise type. This disparity hampers the ability of existing approaches to train generalizable models with such a small sample size per exercise type. Addressing this issue, this paper introduces a novel supervised contrastive learning framework with hard and soft negative samples that effectively utilizes the entire dataset to train a single model applicable to all exercise types. This model, with a Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional network (ST-GCN) architecture, demonstrated enhanced generalizability across exercises and a decrease in overall complexity. Through extensive experiments on three publicly available rehabilitation exercise assessment datasets, UI-PRMD, IRDS, and KIMORE, our method has proven to surpass existing methods, setting a new benchmark in rehabilitation exercise quality assessment. © 2024, CC BY.

In this paper, we study the embedded feature selection problem in linear Support Vector Machines (SVMs), in which a cardinality constraint is employed, leading to an interpretable classification model. The problem is NP-hard due to the presence of the cardinality constraint, even though the original linear SVM amounts to a problem solvable in polynomial time. To handle the hard problem, we first introduce two mixed-integer formulations for which novel semidefinite relaxations are proposed. Exploiting the sparsity pattern of the relaxations, we decompose the problems and obtain equivalent relaxations in a much smaller cone, making the conic approaches scalable. To make the best usage of the decomposed relaxations, we propose heuristics using the information of its optimal solution. Moreover, an exact procedure is proposed by solving a sequence of mixed-integer decomposed semidefinite optimization problems. In closed-loop wireless control systems, the state-of-the-art approach prescribes that a controller receives by wireless communications the individual sensor measurements, and then sends the computed control signal to the actuators. We propose an over-the-air controller scheme where all sensors attached to the plant simultaneously transmit scaled sensing signals directly to the actuator;then the feedback control signal is computed partially over the air and partially by a scaling operation at the actuator. Such over-the-air controller essentially adopts the over-the-air computation concept to compute the control signal for closed-loop wireless control systems. In contrast to the state-of-the-art sensor-to-controller and controller-to-actuator communication approach, the over-the-air controller exploits the superposition properties of multiple-access wireless channels to complete the communication and computation of a large number of sensing signals in a single communication resource unit. Therefore, the proposed scheme can obtain significant benefits in terms of low actuation delay and low wireless resource utilization by a simple network architecture that does not require a dedicated controller. Numerical results show that our proposed over-the-air controller achieves a huge widening of the stability region in terms of sampling time and delay, and a significant reduction of the computation error of the control signal. © 2021, CC BY.

Aiming at the high frequency of urban traffic accidents and the relative shortage of police resources, a multi-objective discrete Jaya algorithm is proposed to solve the problem of police resource deployment in emergency traffic accident handling. The purpose is to make timely response and handling of traffic accidents through the rational allocation of police deployment points in the jurisdiction. Taking the coverage of accident points and the average response time of accidents as the optimization objectives, the discrete Jaya algorithm is used as the global search strategy to approach the Pareto front by constantly approaching the optimal solution and far away from the worst solution, and then the neighborhood search strategy is used to improve the local search ability of the algorithm. Finally, a practical example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

Event detection in power systems aims to identify triggers and event types, which helps relevant personnel respond to emergencies promptly and facilitates the optimization of power supply strategies. However, the limited length of short electrical record texts causes severe information sparsity, and numerous domain-specific terminologies of power systems makes it difficult to transfer knowledge from language models pre-trained on general-domain texts. Traditional event detection approaches primarily focus on the general domain and ignore these two problems in the power system domain. To address the above issues, we propose a Multi-Channel graph neural network utilizing Type information for Event Detection in power systems, named MC-TED, leveraging a semantic channel and a topological channel to enrich information interaction from short texts. Concretely, the semantic channel refines textual representations with semantic similarity, building the semantic information interaction among potential event-related words. The topological channel generates a relation-type-aware graph modeling word dependencies, and a word-type-aware graph integrating part-of-speech tags. To further reduce errors worsened by professional terminologies in type analysis, a type learning mechanism is designed for updating the representations of both the word type and relation type in the topological channel. In this way, the information sparsity and professional term occurrence problems can be alleviated by enabling interaction between topological and semantic information. As a superior multicarrier technique utilizing chirp signals for high-mobility communications, affine frequency division multiplexing (AFDM) is envisioned to be a promising candidate for sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks. AFDM is based on the discrete affine Fourier transform (DAFT) with two adjustable parameters of the chirp signals, termed the pre-chirp and post-chirp parameters, respectively. Whilst the post-chirp parameter complies with stringent constraints to combat the time-frequency doubly selective channel fading, we show that the pre-chirp counterpart can be flexibly manipulated for an additional degree of freedom. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel AFDM scheme with the pre-chirp index modulation (PIM) philosophy (AFDM-PIM), which can implicitly convey extra information bits through dynamic pre-chirp parameter assignment, thus enhancing both spectral and energy efficiency. Specifically, we first demonstrate that the subcarrier orthogonality is still maintained by applying distinct pre-chirp parameters to various subcarriers in the AFDM modulation process. Inspired by this property, we allow each AFDM subcarrier to carry a unique pre-chirp signal according to the incoming bits. By such an arrangement, extra bits can be embedded into the index patterns of pre-chirp parameter assignment without additional energy consumption. We derive asymptotically tight upper bounds on the average bit error probability (BEP) of the proposed schemes with the maximum-likelihood detection, and validate that the proposed AFDM-PIM can achieve full diversity under doubly dispersive channels. Based on the derived result, we further propose an optimal pre-chirp alphabet design to enhance the bit error rate (BER) performance via intelligent optimization algorithms. Fish is a staple in the diet of nations globally and is cultured and harvested using various practices such as open sea fishing and aquaculture. In fact, the fisheries and aquaculture industry are valued at 250 billion as a whole and contribute to almost 2% of the Philippines' Gross Domestic Product;therefore, it is an industry with constant great demand. Aquaculture practice is where fish, shellfish, and other consumable marine species are cultivated by fishermen using traditional methods and experience typically manually operated via fish pens. However, occupational hazards exposed to fishermen in the industry often result in injury and long-term health effects. Thus, there is a need to semi-automate the labour-intensive task of fish harvesting by applying concepts from common current aquaculture practices and control systems engineering. This study develops two systems, namely: a fish pen elevating system and a single-input-multiple-output aquaculture pump system, for harvesting of tilapia in the Laguna de Bay, Philippines, based on the vastness of the lake, the quantity of open water fish pens located in the area, and the species being the most produced in this type of fish pen as a whole. The discussion of existing aquacultures around the world is also included in this study to show advancements in technology when it comes to this industry. The two proposed systems presented integrate the automation of the process where fish is brought to the surface via raising the base frame of the fish pen or its surrounding poles. The proper application of each system should result in more efficient harvests, fewer injuries to fishermen, and improved production volumes. © 2022 IEEE.
