The height of Infiltration line of tailings dam is a very important parameter for the safety of tailings reservoir. Infiltration line is the intersection line between the free water surface and the cross section of the dam body, that the free water surface is formed by the infiltration of water from the earth dam to the downstream. When the buried depth of the pressure sensors at each monitoring point could be obtained and the groundwater seepage pressure of the tailings dam could be measured too, the height of the free water surface can be calculated then. The commonly used pressure sensor is vibrating wire sensor. Among the many seepage pressure monitoring points, because of the lines, power supply or some other reasons, it often occurs that one or some points do not collect groundwater seepage pressure data for a period of time. For the missing data, BP neural network can be used to mend the missed data. Of course, the patched data should be marked to distinguish it from the real collected data. The mending method of missing seepage pressure data using BP neural network model is analyzed. The influence of anti-normalization parameters on mending data is analyzed. In the process of anti-normalization, the maximum and minimum values of the output data of the training data set are not put to use. Instead, a sequences is formed with the existing output data of some range before and after the mission data segment. The maximum and minimum values of the sequence are selected to use as the anti-normalization parameters. This will make the patched data values closer to the actual collected values. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper proposes a method to overcome the cross-seam in a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network. In cross-seam, satellite links cannot be established due to differences in satellite movement directions. The proposed method involves utilizing ground relay to resolve this problem. The Walker-Star constellation has polar regions and cross-seams, where inter-satellite link connection is impossible due to relative velocity. In this paper, we compare the performance results in a satellite network when ground relay is utilized in a cross-seam. We analyze the propagation delay and the number of satellite hops. It analyzes satellite communication performance with and without a ground relay to major cities from Seoul. Also, the maximum performance improvement provided by the ground relay is analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the ground relay reduces propagation delay by up to 76% and reduces satellite hop count by 89%. © 2025 IEEE.

While systematic literature reviews are frequently carried out within software engineering research, performing them in a rigorous and reproducible manner can be difficult. This paper proposes some new methods for evaluating and validating systematic literature reviews. Our approach consists of several steps, such as: Selecting a set of relevant scientific papers to analyze, Developing a list of questions and criteria to evaluate each literature review, and Determining what types of functionality and performance should be evaluated. We tested our method by having multiple experts evaluate the literature reviews based on our questions and criteria. We measured the similarity in scores between each expert to determine the reliability of the evaluations. The average similarity index between experts was 0.58 to 0.83, indicating a reasonable level of agreement in their assessments. This shows our evaluation method can produce fairly consistent results, even when different experts are involved. The relatively high level of agreement is notable considering each expert brings their perspectives and opinions in analyzing literature reviews. By providing concrete questions, criteria, and evaluation methods, we aimed to guide the experts toward more uniform evaluations. In summary, we developed and tested a new approach for evaluating and validating systematic literature reviews in software engineering. By assessing reliability via interrater agreement, we showed that consistent and reproducible results are possible using our evaluation framework and methodology. Our methods could help researchers gain more insight into what makes for an effective and high-quality literature review. © 2023 IEEE.

Now that the COVID-19 pandemic is serious, in order to maintain the quality of life and safety, it is very important to remind people of the outbreak. Because when the SARS pandemic occurred in the past, it was found that the pandemic situation had a certain relationship with the weather. Therefore, we tried to analyze the relationship between the pandemic situation and the weather by analyzing big data information, and we also tried to conclude the possible pandemic situation and climate-related prediction rules through big data. We hope to use the most popular instant messaging software - LINE in Taiwan to assist in the auxiliary reminders of the pandemic. When people use the weather pandemic robot, they can also find the correlation between the weather and the pandemic, and it also helps to remind the public to pay more attention to their own health. © 2022 IEEE.

Nitrate is the primary water-soluble macronutrient essential for plant growth that is converted from excess fish feeds,fish effluents,and degrading biomaterials on the aquaponic pond floor,and when aquacultural malpractices occur,large amounts of it retain in the water system causing increase rate in eutrophication and toxifies fish and aquaculture *** nitrate sensor prototypes still require performing the additional steps of water sample deionization and dilution and were constructed with expensive *** response to the challenge of sensor enhancement and aquaponic water quality monitoring,this study developed sensitive,repeatable,and reproducible screen-printed graphite electrodes on polyvinyl chloride and parchment paper substrates with silver as electrode material and 60:40 graphite powder:nail polish formulated conductive ink for electrical traces,integrated with 9-gene genetic expression model as a function of peak anodic current and electrochemical test time for nitrate concentration prediction that is embedded into low-power Arduino ESP32 for in situ nitrate sensing in aquaponic pond *** SPE electrical traces were designed on the two types of *** electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray confirmed the electrode surface *** cyclic voltammetry using 10 to 100 mg/L KNO3 and water from three-depth regions of the actual pond established the electrochemical test time(10.5 s)and electrode potential(0.135 V)protocol necessary to produce peak current that corresponds to the strength of nitrate ions during *** findings from in situ testing revealed that the proposed sensors have strong linear predictions(R2=0.968 MSE=1.659 for nSPEv and R2=0.966 MSE=4.697 for nSPEp)in the range of 10 to 100 mg/L and best detection limit of 3.15μg/L,which are comparable to other sensors of more complex *** developed three-electrode electrochemical nitrate sensor confirms that it is reliable for bot

This study examines the retraction citation network of Iranian computer scientists, focusing on retracted publications in computer Science, Data Science, and Electrical engineering from 2008 to 2024. Using data from Retraction Watch and citation information from OpenAlex, we analyze 169 retracted papers to identify trends, self-citation practices, and the persistence of citations to retracted works. Key findings reveal that deliberate misconduct is the primary cause of retractions, with significant variations in retraction time lags over the years. network analysis highlights clusters of interconnected retracted articles and identifies self-citation patterns among authors, underscoring the continued influence of flawed research. The study emphasizes the need for improved post-retraction management and research integrity policies to mitigate the impact of retracted publications on academic discourse. This work contributes to understanding retraction dynamics in a specific regional and disciplinary context, offering insights for fostering a more ethical scientific ecosystem.

Hospital scheduling systems are integral components of healthcare management, addressing the complex challenge of optimizing appointment schedules. In the realm of healthcare research, the Appointment Scheduling Problem (ASP) has garnered significant attention due to its multifaceted nature. This problem is particularly pronounced in the outpatient setting, where effective scheduling systems can significantly impact patient satisfaction and overall health care efficiency. Recent comprehensive reviews highlighted the complexity of the Appointment Scheduling Problem within healthcare services, emphasizing the need for innovative solutions and proposing new scheduling models. This paper reviews literature on the topic of hospital scheduling systems, then looks into the current challenges prevalent in it and the emerging solutions that are discussed in literature. The review offers opportunities for innovation and improvements in scheduling procedures while highlighting difficulties with allocation of resources, appointment scheduling, and technology integration. Using advanced technologies into healthcare such as blockchain and AI-driven algorithms, are said to be integral to move in the direction of care that is patient-centric and efficient operations. The study highlights limitations in hospital scheduling systems, including scalability and generalizability, operational uncertainties, need for real-world implementation, and lack of consideration for emergency cases. To improve patient outcomes and the efficiency of healthcare scheduling, ongoing research and development, stakeholder involvement, user-centred design, and longitudinal research are essential. In summary, hospital scheduling systems represent a dynamic area of research, addressing the intricate interplay between patient satisfaction, resource optimization, and technological advancements. © 2024 IEEE.

Despite achieving remarkable performance, Federated Learning (FL) encounters two important problems, i.e., low training efficiency and limited computational resources. In this article, we propose a new FL framework, i.e., FedDUMAP, with three original contributions, to leverage the shared insensitive data on the server in addition to the distributed data in edge devices so as to efficiently train a global model. First, we propose a simple dynamic server update algorithm, which takes advantage of the shared insensitive data on the server while dynamically adjusting the update steps on the server in order to speed up the convergence and improve the accuracy. Second, we propose an adaptive optimization method with the dynamic server update algorithm to exploit the global momentum on the server and each local device for superior accuracy. Third, we develop a layer-adaptive model pruning method to carry out specific pruning operations, which is adapted to the diverse features of each layer so as to attain an excellent tradeoff between effectiveness and efficiency. Our proposed FL model, FedDUMAP, combines the three original techniques and has a significantly better performance compared with baseline approaches in terms of efficiency (up to 16.9 times faster), accuracy (up to 20.4% higher), and computational cost (up to 62.6% smaller). © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Hierarchical networks are frequently encountered in animal groups,gene networks,and artificial engineering systems such as multiple robots,unmanned vehicle systems,smart grids,wind farm networks,and so *** structure of a large directed hierarchical network is often strongly influenced by reverse edges from lower-to higher-level nodes,such as lagging birds’howl in a flock or the opinions of lowerlevel individuals feeding back to higher-level ones in a social *** study reveals that,for most large-scale real hierarchical networks,the majority of the reverse edges do not affect the synchronization process of the entire network;the synchronization process is influenced only by a small part of these reverse edges along specific *** surprisingly,a single effective reverse edge can slow down the synchronization of a huge hierarchical network by over 60%.The effect of such edges depends not on the network size but only on the average in-degree of the involved *** overwhelming majority of active reverse edges turn out to have some kind of“bunching”effect on the information flows of hierarchical networks,which slows down synchronization *** finding refines the current understanding of the role of reverse edges in many natural,social,and engineering hierarchical networks,which might be beneficial for precisely tuning the synchronization rhythms of these *** study also proposes an effective way to attack a hierarchical network by adding a malicious reverse edge to it and provides some guidance for protecting a network by screening out the specific small proportion of vulnerable nodes.

It has recently been shown that there are no multimedia fingerprinting codes that can find all malicious users when they use arbitrary linear attacks plus adversarial noise. It is shown that such codes exist if the complete recovery property is limited to the IPP property, i.e., the property to find at least one malicious user. Moreover, we extend this property to a property that allows us to detect all users whose contribution to the forgery is large enough. Efficient decoding (tracing traitors) algorithms are developed for these codes. © 2023 IEEE.
