Severe received signal strength (RSS) fluctuation is one of the crucial problems in an indoor positioning system using fingerprint-based algorithms. Even at a fixed location, the RSSs received by a mobile device at different time have large discrepancy. Adopting these fluctuated signals for positioning may lead to inaccurate results. To mitigate this problem, in this paper, any of the existing fingerprint-based indoor positioning algorithms can be integrated into our positioning system to estimate the location of mobile device. Then, a mobility prediction algorithm using the model of Brownian motion is presented for further calculating the rationality of the estimated location and correcting the inaccurate results. To be realistic, some experiments in a real WLAN environment with a multitude of people moving in a testing area demonstrate the noticeably better accuracy of this approach. The solution can ensure low and stable positioning error. Besides, the region where training records are out of date can also be found out.

Clustering is a common step in the analysis of microarray data. Microarrays enable simultaneous high-throughput measurement of the expression level of genes. These data can be used to explore relationships between genes and can guide development of drugs and further research. A typical first step in the analysis of these data is to use an agglomerative hierarchical clustering algorithm on the correlation between all gene pairs. While this simple approach has been successful it fails to identify many genetic interactions that may be important for drug design and other important applications. We present an approach to the clustering of expression data that utilizes known gene-gene interaction data to improve results for already commonly used clustering techniques. The approach creates an ensemble similarity measure that can be used as input to common clustering techniques and provides results with increased biological significance while not altering the clustering approach at all.

One of the important and challenging matters in sensor network is energy of life span of nodes in the network. Node's movement, specifically movement of central node (sink) in these networks cause to increase routing updating overhead and consequently to increase power consumption and to decrease network life span. Directed Diffusion algorithm is one of methods in sensor network which is a data-oriented algorithm. One of the important definitions of basic algorithm is not supporting central node's movement. In case of movement of central node, data packs pass on unreliable rout toward central node. In fact, they pass a rout on which the central node is not present at the time being and it has moved to another place. Therefore, route of data is out of order and there is the need to build new routes. This problem causes to create lots of overhead and waste energy. In this article, it is tried to solve mentioned problem of central node's movement by learning automata. In suggested algorithm by learning automata a route amendment tree is built which prevents from creation of the whole route and its overhead.

One of the important and challenging matters in sensor network is energy of life span of nodes in the network. Directed routing algorithm is one of propounded methods in sensor networks which are a data-oriented algorithm. This algorithm focuses on saving energy within life span of network nodes. One of problems of directed diffusion method is existence of multiple routes. Now, consider that some sinks from the same origin request the same data who's Data Volume is very much. Directed routing algorithm establishes one route toward targeted route for each query. The problem of this algorithm is multiplicity of routes for the same data. Therefore, if we can establish a route which has the most common feature with regards to nodes which forms the route, we have prevented wasting energy. In this paper, it is tried to remove problem of multiplicity of routes for the same data by learning automata. We named this algorithm RDDLA. RDDLA decrease overhead and energy in the network Considerable against with some others methods.

For the Sixth Annual Machine Learning for Signal Processing competition, sponsored by Nokia and PASCAL2, entrants were asked to develop a classifier, with optional feature extraction, that uses electroencephalography (EEG) data collected during an image presentation (visual odd-ball) task and optimally determines whether each image presented to a user contains or does not contain a pre-specified target. In this paper, we (the organizers of the competition) briefly describe the application, the data, the rules, and the outcomes of the competition. A total of 35 teams entered the contest. Training data were provided. The entries were tested using disjoint test data. The three teams with the best performing entries describe the approach they used in three separate companion papers, all of which appear in this year's conference proceedings.

Different approaches have been proposed for digital display of bangla numerals and also characters. But a complete and accurate scheme not has been done yet. We approach a complete low cost and fair design to display bangla numerals, bangla characters (vowel, consonant and shortened form of these characters), also English and Arabic numerals and all English character's represented as 120 character displayed by only 34 segments with tiny bits of binary code and differently usable architecture made this approach favorable. This scheme can be effectively used instead of other alternatives as less complex, economic and complete. With this framework, other characters also can be displayed as manufacturer specification.

The increasing popularity of ubiquitous, interconnected computing devices such as laptops, PDAs, and 3G mobile phones is fostering the emergence of environments where people access their personal information, corporate data and public resources "anytime" and "anywhere". Context, an important concept that can be any information regarding the situation and environment, is often exploited by human beings for communications and actions. Context-aware services have been proposed in the computing field to adapt system behaviors based on the retrieved context data. Although different context-aware systems have been presented in literature, this paper moves one step further by building an adaptive wireless multimedia system with context-awareness using ontology-based models. The proposed system can adapt its behaviors according to the changes of various context data. First, it chooses the appropriate video content based on the retrieved static context data such as user's profile, location, time, and weather forecast. Then, dynamic media adaption is performed to greatly improve the video quality perceived by the end user by adapting to various context data such as varying wireless channel quality, available energy of the end equipment, network congestion and application Quality of Services (QoS). To verify the effectiveness of proposed system, a test bench and its experimental results are also described.
