An operon is a fundamental unit of transcription contains a specific function of genes for the construction and regulation of networks at the whole genome level. The operon prediction is critical for the understanding of gene regulation and functions in newly sequenced genomes. Various methods for operon prediction have been proposed in the literature shows that the experimental methods for operon detection are tend to be non-trivial and time-consuming. In this study, a binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO) and reinforcement learning (RL) are used for operon prediction in bacterial genomes. The intergenic distance, participation in the same metabolic pathway and the gene length ratio property of the Escherichia coli genome are used to design a fitness function based on the conception of RL. Then the three genomes are used to test the prediction performance of BPSO with RL. Experimental results show that the prediction accuracy of this method reached to 92.8%, 94.3% and 95.9% on Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA01 and Staphylococcus aureus genomes respectively. The proposed method for the predicted operons with the highest accuracy contains the three test genomes.

Video-on-Demand (VoD) is popular on the Internet for offering time-unconstrained viewing experience. In order to reduce their operational costs, VoD service providers call for assistance of the participating peers via employing peer-to-peer technologies. However, perfect viewing experiences perceived on the home DVD players are still hardly (or impractical) implemented on the Internet because of Internet features, provider costs, media characteristics, and viewer behaviors. In this paper, we are motivated to take viewer behaviors into account. Specifically, information of media chunks being available in neighborhood is compactly represented on the interface of viewers' clients. The viewers in turn may bias their future VCR operations towards the currently available chunks for achieving a seldom interrupted media playback. As a side effect, VoD providers are more likely to reduce their operational costs for serving asynchronously arriving viewers.

In many applications of Wireless Sensor networks (WSNs), the sensing data are disseminated from a source to multiple mobile sinks. Since WSNs consists of a number of sensor nodes with limited capabilities, previous studies mainly discuss on how to send the data efficiently and do not consider the group mobility of mobile sinks that move together staying closely and randomly move within a geographically restricted region. Although the existing multicasting protocols could be applied, they suffer from high congestion and control overhead due to location updates by individual mobile sinks. Geocasting protocols are effective for data delivery to a sink group within a restricted region, but do not guarantee since they only focus on transmitting data to all nodes within a stationary region. Therefore, we propose Region Based Data Dissemination (RBDD) scheme to address these problems. RBDD provides efficient data dissemination scheme for mobile sink groups, so it guarantees data transmission when a sink group does not only move as a whole, but its member sinks also move inside of the region or outside of it. Simulation results show that RBDD guarantees data delivery to a mobile sink group.

Digital campus is one important part to the digital earth and Internet of Things. Based on the analysis of the LBS performance, structure, function and the present research status of digital campus we propose a digital campus design project based on LBS and we discuss the architecture. We take a campus as a simulation implement. Map engine is the tool of implementation of the LBS platform. GIS is used here to give the navigation and the platform is combined and advanced with virtual reality technology such as VRML. Though the platform we achieve a terminal location, map query, three-dimensional browsing, navigation and guides tracking and monitoring, and other functions. The LBS platform improves the work and study efficiency of teachers and students, accelerates the construction and application of digital campus, and provides a new idea for the future development of digital campus system.

Safety is the only way home. Broadcasting techniques have been applied widely to improve the traffic safety, especially pileup crash avoidance by sending the emergency messages to alert drivers; however, such application often suffers from the broadcast storm, hidden node, interference, and contention problem. In the paper a novel area-based broadcast protocol was proposed. Its relaying model running at the receiver side based on the position and velocity properties of the sender and the receiver can deliver the emergency message very fast. The simulation results show that not only can it take 8.5 ms with 11 retransmissions in average to disseminate 3.5 km away from the sender but also it has the less delay and retransmission rate in comparison with other protocols.

Email has been one of the most important communication tools in modern society. Email spam has been around for more than a decade and its quantity greatly exceeds the ham. How to prevent spam spreading becomes an important problem and the anti-spam technology has become a hotspot both in research and industry area. This paper proposes a Re-Study Bayes method which uses information gain(IG) to calculate email characters and updates the characters set by re-study mode. By this method, the feature dimension is reduced, while the efficiency of extracting characteristics is highly improved. And the experiment in this paper gets more accurate results than previous methods.
