End-to-end fairness in a sensor network ensures that data from each sensor has an equal (or weighted) chance to reach the sink. It eliminates the problem that data flows from sensors at some locations (close to the sink) obtain most network bandwidth, while flows from sensors at other locations (far away from the sink) are starved. Existing fairness solutions assume single-path routing, which reduces achievable throughput of the network. In this paper, we propose a multipath fairness solution (MFS) that achieves end-to-end fairness among competing flows through fully distributed operations. MFS is easy to implement, which is advantageous in a resource-scarce sensor network. More importantly, it achieves much higher network throughput and better fairness among the flows.

The development of virtual scene involves too many object;however, in most cases they share some common parts. After researching the modeling method of sky and terrain, one basic framework of virtual scene's development is put forward. The framework covers both the modeling and rendering technique of sky and terrain, and any operation on camera. Detailed design is presented in relative section, by operating the view matrix different rotation or translation on camera is realized. On the basis of analyze various methods of sky rendering, plane is adopted to model the sky and take fish-eye picture as texture. Terrain is simulated by height map and one algorithm applying to compute the height of different position in terrain is presented. Experiment shows that this framework can improve the efficiency of Virtual Environment Development and possesses good versatility and scalability.

By reducing the data amount to graph pipeline,the rendering efficiency can be improved significantly. We present a novel frustum culling approach (2D frustum culling) for the scene that has only one layer of objects,such as forest. This scene meets the condition ‘when projecting all the objects to one plane,the point on projected plane corresponds to only one object’. Our approach contains three parts. Firstly,derive the expression of frustum in object local space. Secondly, adopt double-queue to compute the largest convex polygon. Lastly,use scan algorithm to work out which points are in the convex polygon,and these points suggest according objects are within the view frustum. Rendering forest with such algorithm shows that it has good culling efficiency and meets real-time rendering requirements.

Fair Multi-Party Certified Mail Protocol is a value service to deliver important data over internet with guaranteed receipt for each successful delivery. Therefore, the protocol needs to be Confidential, Non-repudiation and Fairness. This paper pointed out potential security concern for a current protocol, and also came out an offline third party fair multi-party certified Mail Protocol based on signcryption scheme. Through the analysis by Kailar logic, it is can be seen the protocol can achieve the non-repudiation, fairness. This paper presents a novel H-Shaped reconfigurable microstrip patch antenna fed by a Grounded Coplanar Waveguide (GCPW) for wireless applications. The uniqueness in the presented antenna design relies in the ability to select the number of operating frequencies electronically by using a varactor diode. The antenna structure consists of coplanar waveguide (CPW) input with an H-shape printed on a PCB and a varactor diode for reconfigurability. By electronically varying the value of the diode capacitance, the antenna can operate in a single band mode to cover Global Position System (GPS), a dual band mode to cover GPS and Global System for Mobile communications (GSM1900) or a three-band mode to cover GPS, GSM1900 and Bluetooth or Wireless Local Area networks (WLAN).

This paper investigates dynamic stability and control design of modern electric energy systems as many MW-scale distributed generators (DG) of various types are deployed in the distribution side of electric systems. The paper is mainly concerned about small-signal frequency stability of distribution systems with decentralized or centralized control systems. The Gerschgorin Circle Theory and Hicks Stability Theory are used for verifying sufficient conditions for small-signal stability. The paper also discusses about designing advanced enhancing robustness methods to ensure both safety and stability of modern distribution systems. Finally, the paper closes with a discussion of policies needed to support large penetration of DG units in distribution systems to ensure safety and robustness of the system.

Although competitive games have multi-fold benefits to students' learning, such as motivation, satisfaction, and effectiveness, inappropriate competitive learning activities may have some negative impacts on students. From the literature, the authors have identified three main strategies which may reduce the negative impacts in competition game. However, because these strategies target only at the design of competition, the learning effects is limited. In fact, learning also happens in the preparation before competition. Hence, this study adopts preparation-before-competition approach to foster the habit of endeavor. That is, students make more effort to learn; they will win more easily. An animal companion system, entitled My-Pet-Trainer system, was implemented according to such approach. The system encourages students to improve their learning in the preparation stage where the virtual pets represent students' open learner models before the competition stage. In addition, the paper also considers the symbiosis and emotional relationship with virtual pets to maintain long-term interactions.
