Many students find mathematics difficult and do not like studying mathematics. Some researchers suggest that computer games can be highly effective in increasing children's learning and enjoyment of mathematics. In this paper, we described a bingo-like system for mathematics skill building. The main aim of the game is to increase the level of motivation and engagement of students during skill building. The functions and features of the system are presented in the paper and a preliminary study at an elementary school is also outlined and discussed.

A concept of active resonant tank (ART) is proposed for high frequency non-isolated DC-DC converters to achieve zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) of the main switch and eliminate reverse recovery and body diode conduction losses of the synchronous rectifier in order to improve conversion efficiency and reduce EMI noises. The concept is generalized for six basic non-isolated converters. A buck converter with the ART cell is analyzed in great detail, and a 100 W prototype is built to verify the concept. Experimental results agree with theoretical analysis and improvement in efficiency is achieved due to the reduced switching and reverse-recovery losses

In this paper, the branched-bus topology is evaluated as representative of indoor PLC channels' multipath fading properties. The path amplitude and arrival-time distributions are investigated, as well as ranging of the RMS-delay-spread. Specific analogy between the simplified topology and real indoor power-line network structures is hereupon introduced. The evaluation is performed via comparative simulation between channel routes of a real in-house network and the corresponding branched-bus configurations. A novel computational simulation tool is to this effect employed. Qualitative suitability of the examined topology is indeed verified, and quantitative deductions are extracted as well.

Ultra high-speed imaging techniques were used to measure and analyze ice surface and air gap corona streamer inception parameters. Furthermore, a computer model is proposed to predict corona streamer inception parameters. The input data are the gap geometry, surrounding air temperature, applied voltage and electric field distribution. It is found that the results from the model are in good agreement with those obtained experimentally.
