Ti-6Al-4 V is an (α + β) titanium alloy that has been most widely used in automotive, aerospace, and biomedical applications due to the extensive material properties of high strength, toughness, high strength-to-weight ratio, and biocompatibility. Machine learning (ML) algorithms of data-driven methods provide a better understanding of the correlation between material properties and tribological properties. Correlations of tribological test variables (sliding speed, sliding distance, and normal load) with the tribological properties (coefficient of friction and wear rate) were studied using machine learning algorithms. A total of 41 data points based on the Ti-6Al-4 V alloy coating were divided into training and testing sets in the ratio of 80:20. The ML-based algorithms, which include Decision Tree (DT) and Random Forest (RF) algorithms, have been studied to predict the wear rates and coefficient of friction. The evaluation metrics like MAE, MSE, and RMSE are used to find the best suitable algorithm for the predictions. Using the data analysis, the coefficient of friction and wear rates have been satisfactorily predicted from the considered data sets. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In the era of big data, data trading significantly enhances data-driven technologies by facilitating data sharing. Despite the clear advantages often experienced by data users when incorporating multiple sources, the topic of multi-source data trading remains largely unexplored. This paper designs a novel data trading framework, which enables multi-source data trading through multi-source cooperation. The proposed framework aims to improve data usage efficiency and increase seller revenue. In particular, we model data sellers' cooperative decisions through the Nash bargaining framework and systematically outline the interactions between sellers and buyers as a two-stage Stackelberg game. A key contribution of this work is the consideration of coupling among diverse data products, which is essential but often overlooked in prior studies. We properly classify data's utility into endogenous and relational categories to disentangle the coupling. Despite the inherent non-convex nature of the optimization problem, we methodically derive the closed-form optimal solutions by decomposing the problem into several subproblems. Interestingly, we reveal that, under our proposed framework, sellers' revenue initially remains steady with the increase of product coupling level, but begins to rise once the level exceeds a certain threshold due to the substitute effect. Finally, experimental results show that our proposed framework can improve the seller's profit by up to 46.32% compared to traditional data trading methods in the current data market. © 2024 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has made a significant impact on improving human life in the modern era, offering convenience and ease. Smart appliances, which are connected to the Internet, have become increasingly popular due to their improved efficiency, robustness, power consumption, and connectivity. The main objective of this paper is to convert a conventional refrigerator into an intelligent appliance by integrating computational intelligence using a microcontroller and a range of sensors. The proposed approach aims to improve food management capabilities by introducing automated techniques and cost-effective intelligence to the refrigerator. The resulting smart refrigerator is designed to be user-friendly and improve the overall quality of life. The system includes a mobile or web application that acts as a bridge between the refrigerator and the user, allowing for remote control and monitoring. The smart refrigerator employs sensors to detect shortages of items and can automatically place orders online or send messages to grocery stores for item delivery. Additionally, the smart module continuously monitors temperature and humidity levels, uploading real-time updates to a cloud platform for user access. The integration of IoT technology into refrigerators offers numerous features and benefits, ultimately enhancing convenience and efficiency in managing food storage and consumption.

To address communication latency issues, the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has defined Cellular-Vehicle to Everything (C-V2X) technology, which includes Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication for direct vehicle-to-vehicle communication. However, this method requires vehicles to autonomously select communication resources based on the Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) protocol, which may lead to collisions due to different vehicles sharing the same communication resources, thereby affecting communication effectiveness. Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) is considered a potential solution for handling large-scale vehicle communication, as it can enhance the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) by employing Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC), thereby reducing the negative impact of communication collisions. When evaluating vehicle communication performance, traditional metrics such as reliability and transmission delay present certain contradictions. Introducing the new metric Age of Information (AoI) provides a more comprehensive evaluation of communication system. Additionally, to ensure service quality, user terminals need to possess high computational capabilities, which may lead to increased energy consumption, necessitating a trade-off between communication energy consumption and effectiveness. Given the complexity and dynamics of communication systems, Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) serves as an intelligent learning method capable of learning optimal strategies in dynamic environments. Therefore, this paper analyzes the effects of multi-priority queues and NOMA on AoI in the C-V2X vehicular communication system and proposes an energy consumption and AoI optimization method based on DRL. Finally, through comparative simulations with baseline methods, the proposed approach demonstrates its advances in terms of energy consumption and AoI. © 2017 IEEE.

A wheelchair is a specialized form of Personal Mobility Vehicle (PMV) designed to help people with disabilities move safely to their desired locations. Unlike conventional PMVs, wheelchairs for people with disabilities are challenging to manually control in environments with heavy traffic. This study focuses on designing and feasibility testing of control systems for PMVs to meet safety and efficiency standards, even in complex environments. First, a control structure model for PMVs is proposed. This is followed by the application of a combination of First In First Out (FIFO) and Dijkstra traffic control methods to determine effective trajectories for PMVs. The proposed control system is then tested on the campus of the University of Transport and Communications. Simulation results show that when comparing the travel time of 10 PMVs, the order execution time for each PMV remains stable (within 10%) for up to 20 PMVs. However, when the number of PMVs increases to 25, 30, 35, and 40 vehicles, the order execution time increases by 35%, 55%, 103%, and 119%, respectively. These results demonstrate that the system can control a large number of PMVs, ensuring safety, flexibility, and efficiency. © 2024 Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Zero-Day attacks represent one of the most challenging threats in modern cybersecurity, as they exploit unknown vulnerabilities and bypass traditional detection systems. In this paper, we propose a hybrid threat detection system that integrates three key components: a Random Forest-based supervised classification model for detecting known attack patterns, an autoencoder-based anomaly detection module to uncover novel threats, and a Reinforcement Learning (RL) agent to dynamically optimize response strategies in real-time. The proposed system achieves a detection Accuracy of 97.8% for known attacks. The autoencoder, trained exclusively on normal traffic, employs a dynamically determined threshold (set at 0.8409) to flag anomalous behavior indicative of Zero-Day attacks. Furthermore, the RL agent adapts quickly to evolving threats, effectively filtering out 53.2% of benign traffic while blocking 39.7% of attack traffic and quarantining 7.1% of ambiguous cases for further inspection. Experimental results demonstrate that this integrated approach not only enhances top-level threat prevention but also significantly reduces false alerts.

The role of learning media greatly supports the learning process, increasing motivation and interest in the process. Learning media can also be a place to improve competence optimally through bootcamp training menus and the like with more specific training objectives. The main objective of this study is to develop a gamification-based website to enhance students’ preparedness for their Final Competency Test by tackling challenges in comprehending programming absent practical experience. The learning method implemented in this website is case-based learning that integrates dynamic coding activities. The research method uses the Plomp approach with 3 main stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment stage. The trial of the gamification website began with media and content validation followed by small group testing and large group testing. Validation by media and material experts led to the execution of small group trials (95.7%) and large group trials (91.7%), producing exceptionally positive outcomes. The results of the small group test with 12 respondents produced a very suitable value with a score of 95.7 and the large group test with 27 respondents produced a score of $\mathbf{9 1. 7 \%}$ with very suitable criteria. This indicates that the web-based platform is highly viable for assisting vocational students in acquiring software development skills, enhancing their preparedness for practical IT positions such as software developers and system analysts. Subsequent study involved the incorporation of gamification, such as computer-supported collaborative learning.

This paper explores decentralized learning in a graph-based setting, where data is distributed across nodes. We investigate a decentralized SGD algorithm that utilizes a random walk to update a global model based on local data. Our focus is on designing the transition probability matrix to speed up convergence. While importance sampling can enhance centralized learning, its decentralized counterpart, using the Metropolis-Hastings (MH) algorithm, can lead to the entrapment problem, where the random walk becomes stuck at certain nodes, slowing convergence. To address this, we propose the Metropolis-Hastings with Levy Jumps (MHLJ) algorithm, which incorporates random perturbations (jumps) to overcome entrapment. We theoretically establish the convergence rate and error gap of MHLJ and validate our findings through numerical experiments.
