With the development with 5G the mobile connectivity in rural areas has increased. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IOT) has increased its horizon in some applications like Agriculture, Dam monitoring etc. This high computation application requires high computation capacity and low latency. A multi-hop mobile edge computation with D2D communication (MECD2D) has been proposed. The resource allocation has been performed using improved artificial bee colony optimization algorithm (IABCO). It aims at minimizing overall cost of computation by reducing energy consumption and optimizing number of idle users for computation offloading. The simulation results shows that the proposed algorithm performs better as compared to the Kuhn Munkres algorithm. The performance is improved by 2% in terms of energy consumption and 32-48% in terms of resource consumption. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

Consider the high dynamics of traffic loading and resource provision on network hosts that forward data flows along a particular path between two endpoints. The Quick UDP Internet Connect (QUIC) protocol performs better than TCP for its effects in shortening the time of connection establishment and data transmission between two endpoints. Recent studies attempted to exploit the notion of multipath QUIC that forwards the data over multiple paths. Using the multipath QUIC can not only augment the total bandwidth capacity but also avoid traffic congestion on some paths. In this paper, our study proposes a novel multipath QUIC scheme which is able to minimize the flow completion time of multipath QUIC by jointly utilizing two measures of path delay and packet loss rate on a path. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to other scheduling schemes, including naive QUIC and Lowest-RTT-First QUIC. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Roadside units (RSUs) with strong sensing abilities enhance the feasibility of the RSU-to-Everything (R2X) paradigm, providing crucial infrastructure support for mobile edge computing and reducing data processing latency. Due to the limited computing capacity of RSUs, it is beneficial to offload tasks to other RSUs, vehicles, and cloud servers for processing, allowing for the efficient utilization of computational resources. To leverage the abundant idle vehicle resources on the road, tasks can be offloaded to vehicles outside the coverage area of the RSUs through multi-hop transmission. Due to the high mobility of vehicles, there is a risk of communication link disconnection during task transmission, which poses a challenge to the reliable transmission of tasks. In this paper, we ensure the communication link quality among nodes based on the established vehicle mobility model, and design a mechanism for selecting forwarding vehicles. The goal is to find the path with the highest reliability between vehicles and the source RSU. To encourage nodes to participate in multi-hop transmission, a certain relay cost and computational cost are paid to the computing nodes. We establish a joint optimization model focusing on task delay and task cost. To achieve this, we develop a 0-1 mathematical model and then transform it into a Markov Decision Process (MDP). Building on this foundation, we propose a solution based on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). Experimental results demonstrate that this method significantly reduces task delay and task cost. © 2024 IEEE.

The contribution of energy efficiency covers a wide range of interests. Energy efficiency affects climate change mitigation goals, energy saving, health benefits, and productivity. The quick expansion of data traffic and connection has caused the telecommunications industry's energy usage to increase significantly. It operated with equipment that is already energy efficient and it will be try to explain the additional energy saving. It will be shows a methodology that uses several parameters that can be varied in order to achieve the desired high-power transmitter efficiency. The result of the work is the saving of energy and resources through the use of tools that keep components of telecommunication systems in the optimal mode of operation using intelligent application. This application uses an intelligent algorithm that allows us to save approximately 20MW per year. © 2024 IEEE.

The next-generation mobile networks follow the 3GPP disaggregated Radio Access network (RAN) model, composed of three separate functional units: Centralized Unit (CU), Distributed Unit (DU), and Radio Unit (RU), and its interconnection network infrastructures, front-haul, between RU and DU and mid-haul, between DU and CU. The current focus has been extensively on the front-haul, proposing a myriad of networking technologies and resource allocation solutions. Mid-haul transport infrastructure has received comparably less attention. This paper explores the implementation and performance of optical multi-flow transponders in mobile mid-haul networks. It evaluates the performance of mid-haul mesh topologies with different DU placement methods. Numerical results show the achievable throughput and blocking performance. We also derive the number of Multi-flow optical transponders (MOTP) units deployed, as well as the related trade-offs. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, a novel fault diagnosis method for photovoltaic (PV) arrays is proposed. The method combines three machine learning (ML) algorithms: the first one is an unsupervised ML algorithm (principal component analysis, ‘PCA’) used for features reduction;the second one is a kind of a recurrent neural networks (long short-term memory, ‘LSTM’) employed to predict the PV power;and the third one is a supervised ensemble learning categorical boosting algorithm (CatBoost), used mainly for fault classification improvement. Four types of faults (dust deposit on PV modules surface, partial shading effect, shunted diode and open-circuit diode) are examined in this study. Results showed the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of detection and classification accuracy, 98.70% and 98.58% respectively, and demonstrate the superiority of this method over other investigated ML algorithms (e.g. decision tree, support vector machine, k-nearest neighbours, and random forest). © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Due to the increase of fire accidents that may cause loss of human lives and property damage, there is a crucial need to a robust system that enables real-Time monitoring and early detection of fires. Developing such system became feasible with the emergence of internet of things (IoT) paradigms. In fact, IoT, used extensively in many fields, permits the interaction between the virtual and physical world through allowing "Things"to connect to the internet. Through using IoT sensors, we propose a complete low-cost design and implementation of a smart system that enables monitoring and collecting data (temperature, humidity, smoke, number of people in the fireplace) in real time. Our proposed system allows user to monitor the building's status remotely via a friendly dashboard that provides the data of all the parameters in a single page. Whenever a collected parameter crosses its threshold, a buzzer, a red light, and a message sent to the mobile phone alerts the homeowner. So that, he can immediately contact the authority or firefighters to come instantly. One significant advantage of our system is that it counts the number of people present in the fire scene, which will facilitate the evacuation process. Our system has been successfully tested under different scenarios and as a future work we can suggest adding image processing scheme by adding a camera and analyzing real time data collected from sensors using Artificial Intelligence techniques (such as machine learning and deep learning). © 2022 IEEE.

In urban areas, due to the obstruction/reflection of GNSS signals by roadside buildings, position accuracy is greatly degraded, or even outage occurs when no enough satellites are available. To address this problem, vehicles and roadside units have been used as positioning anchors to estimate pedestrian position. Although previous methods exploited channel state information, which is superior to received signal strength for distance estimation, they rely on signal attenuation characteristics, and the accuracy is limited by temporal resolution and multipath propagation. This work focuses on using the phase information of V2X OFDM signals to estimate distance differences more robustly. We investigated the impact of the sampling rate, a crucial parameter, and conducted simulation evaluations using 3D maps and ray-tracing. Additionally, we built a testbed and performed evaluations with real-world OFDM signal data, which demonstrates that phase information can significantly improve the accuracy of distance measurements. © 2024 IEEE.

As a new wireless transmission architecture technology, cSO can effectively reduce the influence of fading channels and provide cSO links for low channel quality. Secondly, in the ultra-large traffic cSO, The fitting of data and the constraint on the model must be considered at the same time. Generally speaking, regularization is the most common method, because in the process of inversion, it is far from enough to only use data fitting terms as constraints. In order to make the inversion results stable, model constraint terms should be added to the objective function on the basis of data fitting terms, and there are usually different model constraint methods for different practical problems. When the physical properties of anomalous body are different from those of surrounding rock, the minimum model constraint can be used. When inversion of the moderocess of EMM-connected state was consistent with the determination of the coverage enhancement level. © 2023 IEEE.
