This paper presents a low complexity maximum likelihood detection (MLD) algorithm called one-bit-sphere- decoding for an uplink massive multiple-input multiple- output (MIMO) system with one-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The idea of the proposed algorithm is to estimate the transmitted symbol vector sent by uplink users (a codeword vector) by searching over a sphere, which contains a collection of codeword vectors close to the received signal vector at the base station in terms of a weighted Hamming distance. To reduce the computational complexity for the construction of the sphere, the proposed algorithm divides the received signal vector into multiple sub-vectors each with reduced dimension. Then, it generates multiple spheres in parallel, where each sphere is centered at the sub- vector and contains a list of sub-codeword vectors. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves near-MLD performance, while reducing the computational complexity compared to the existing MLD method. © 2018 IEEE.

In this paper, we consider a smart jammer that only attacks the channel if it detects activities of legitimate devices on that channel. To cope with smart jamming attacks, we propose an intelligent deception strategy in which the legitimate device will send fake transmissions to lure the jammer. Then, if the jammer launches attacks to the channel, the legitimate device can either backscatter the jamming signals to transmit data or harvest energy from the jamming signals for future active transmission. In this way, we can not only undermine the attack ability of the jammer, but also leverage jamming attacks as means to enhance system performance. In addition, to find an optimal defense strategy for the legitimate device under uncertainty of wireless environment as well as incomplete information from the jammer, we develop Q-learning and deep Q-learning algorithms based on the Markov decision process. Through simulation results, we demonstrate that our proposed solution is able to not only deal with smart jamming attacks, but also successfully leverage jamming attacks to improve the system performance.

Autonomous technology has been actively developed. The theme of FPT 2018 FPGA design competition is autonomous vehicle driving using FPGA. In this paper, we describe our autonomous driving robot car for the design competition. Our robot car is developed using Xilinx FPGA Zynq 7020, which has PL (Programmable Logic) part and PS (Processor System) part. Image recognition to detect dolls used as humans is implemented on PL as hardware logic. Image processing of lane keeping, navigation and motor control are implemented on PS as software program. Our system is using PYNQ environment which can control hardware by Python language.

Groundbreaking advances in theoretical and applied Artificial Intelligence (AI). DL algorithms are groundedin non-linear and complex artificial neural systems that progressively extract higher-level features from *** is frequently compared with human-level performance in real-world tasks, such as clinical diagnostics. Itis also a turning point in solving otherwise intractable problems in the design of virtual agents or robotics;orin providing novel insight into disease progress in genomics and Neuroimaging (NI), understanding humanbrain function, the automation of industrial processes based on computer vision, and so on. In this paper, themost relevant advances from the last few years in AI and several applications to neuroscience, neuroimaging,computer vision, and robotics are presented, reviewed and discussed. In this way, we summarize the state-ofthe-art in AI methods, models and applications within a collection of works presented at the 9th InternationalConference on the Interplay between Natural and Artificial Computation (IWINAC). Edge computing promises a dramatic reduction in the network latency and the traffic volume, where many edge servers are placed at the edge of the Internet. Furthermore, these edge servers cache data to provide services for edge users. The data sharing among edge servers can effectively shorten the latency to retrieve the data and further reduce the network bandwidth consumption. The key challenge is to construct an efficient data indexing mechanism no matter how the data is cached in the edge network. Although this is essential, it is still an open problem. Moreover, existing methods such as the centralized indexing and the DHT indexing in other fields fail to meet the performance demand of edge computing. This paper presents a COordinate-based INdexing (COIN) mechanism for the data sharing in edge computing. COIN maintains a virtual space where the switches and the data indexes are associated with the coordinates. Then, COIN distributes data indexes to indexing edge servers based on those coordinates. The COIN is effective because any query request from an edge server can be responded when the data has been stored in the edge network. More importantly, COIN is efficient in both routing path lengths and forwarding table sizes for publishing/querying the data indexes. We implement COIN in a P4 prototype. Experimental results show that COIN uses 59% shorter path length and 30% less forwarding table entries to retrieve the data index compared to using Chord, a well-known DHT solution.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) or drones are expected to fly automatically, especially in performing basic maneuvers. The necessary maneuver is to fly straight and level, where no rotation occurs on the roll, pitch, and yaw axes that work on the plane. Also, to free from rotational motion, the aircraft needs to maintain its horizontal speed to prevent the vehicle from losing lift and free-fall. This research uses a Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) control method to obtain full-state feedback K gain from the control system. The gain of the full-state feedback is used to control the output, which is converted into Pulse Width Modulation to control the rotational speed of the brushless motor, and the angle of servo. The result of this research is that system response obtained is optimum with the desired specification.

We propose a new cellular network model that captures both deterministic and random aspects of base station (BS) deployments. Namely, the BS locations are modeled as the superposition of two independent stationary point processes: A random shifted grid with intensity λg and a Poisson point process (PPP) with intensity -p. Grid and PPP deployments are special cases with λp → 0 and λg → 0, with actual deployments in between these two extremes, as we demonstrate with deployment data. Assuming that each user is associated with the BS that provides the strongest average received signal power, we obtain the probability that a typical user is associated with either a grid or PPP BS. Assuming Rayleigh fading channels, we derive the expression for the coverage probability of the typical user, resulting in the following observations. First, the association and the coverage probability of the typical user are fully characterized as functions of intensity ratio pλ = λp/λ g. Second, the user association is biased toward the BSs located on a grid. Finally, the proposed model predicts the coverage probability of the actual deployment with great accuracy. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

Digital image scrambling is often used in encryption technology and information hiding technology. In practical application, the pixel distribution of the scrambling image is expected to be uniform. In this paper, we propose the evaluation method of digital image scrambling degree, then propose the construction method of arbitrary subspace which is applied in the proposed evaluation method. We perform two sets of experiments on seven images to verify the performance of the proposed construction of arbitrary subspace and the proposed evaluation method of digital image scrambling degree, respectively. Experimental result on the image 'fingerprint' shows that the proposed construction of arbitrary subspace is a more effective approach. In addition, experimental results on the three kinds of images show that the proposed evaluation method of digital image scrambling degree is more effective than other three frequently-used methods. In this way, we can quickly find the best number of scrambling transformation in order to get the best image scrambling performance, rather than randomly set the number of scrambling transformation. © 20XX IEEE.

FALP: Fast beam alignment in mmWave systems with low-resolution phase shifters

Millimeter wave (mmWave) systems can enable high data rates if the link between the transmitting and receiving radios is configured properly. Fast configuration of mmWave links, however, is challenging due to the use of large antenna arrays and hardware constraints. For example, a large amount of training overhead is incurred by exhaustive search-based beam alignment in typical mmWave phased arrays. In this paper, we present a framework called FALP for Fast beam Alignment with Low-resolution Phase shifters. FALP uses an efficient set of antenna weight vectors to acquire channel measurements, and allows faster beam alignment when compared to exhaustive scan. The antenna weight vectors in FALP can be realized in ultralow power phase shifters whose resolution can be as low as onebit. From a compressed sensing (CS) perspective, the CS matrix designed in FALP satisfies the restricted isometry property and allows CS algorithms to exploit the fast Fourier transform. The proposed framework also establishes a new connection between channel acquisition in phased arrays and magnetic resonance imaging. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A component is made of different materials in various regions, which is ascertained to satisfy the application requirements. The component of a material can be categorized into homogeneous with functionally graded materials and composites and heterogeneous with periodic microstructures. The design of such component is implemented from its function requirements to material properties, geometry, and microstructures or compositions. However, the presence of fractures in such material affects the properties of materials and reduces its lifetime. Hence, we propose an improved Intelligent Water Drop Neural Network (IWDNN) Algorithm to optimally select the microstructures and constituent compositions of material from a material database. The IWDNN algorithm is built with the material properties to identify the fractures present in microstructures and constituent compositions of materials. The proposed approach is tested using a special circular beam constructed with multiphase materials.
