Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs) are emerging and have huge prospects since they have various applications in oceanography, environmental monitoring, and underwater communication. These networks contain low-cost submerged sensors that are mostly connected by way of acoustic media. Sensors are relatively new to underwater research, and thanks to recent technological development, they can now function at different depths. In this article, the author explores what UWSNs must do to operate smoothly by exploring the basic features that they must meet for further development. Real-time Underwater communication remains an open problem due to underwater acoustic channels important for undersea data acquisition, undersea navigation, and undersea remote sensing. To mitigate such challenges and in light of the use of new technologies, researchers seek to improve the reliability and reliability of UWSNs. Finally, there is great potential with UWSNs for investigating and exploiting the underwater environment by improving scenarios of different domains in line with subaqueous data and communications.

Model-based testing is a substantial approach that is based on and involving models. It is well known for achieving test coverage and for generating and executing test cases automatically. The main and core activity of model-based testing is the modelling activity. Models are used to explain and represent the behaviour of the product. The requirement will be translated into models and those models will be used in generating the test cases automatically in model-based testing. The modelling activity clarifies test requirement and contribute to automatic generation and execution of large test suites with tool support. Model-based testing provides numerous advantages in testing;mainly on achieving appropriate test coverage and reduce manual effort and time spent since it can execute the test cases automatically. Despite all the benefit it can provide, there are some drawbacks too. However, the challenges faced can overcome by implementing proper test modelling activity and by adopting a well-versed test management activity. Thus, in this paper, we have studied the existing testing process, the taxonomy of model-based testing and model-based testing steps and proposed an extensive lifecycle for model-based testing with detail activities and steps to be carried out in order to test and validate access control requirement for multi-tenant application. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Natural and man-made disasters may have severe impacts, but disaster prediction can help lessen such effects. The natural catastrophes that strike India on a regular basis cause immense devastation in terms of human lives and material possessions. Predicting the start and development of disasters in real-time is essential for reducing their effect. For more precise and trustworthy catastrophe predictions, this research presents an AI-powered catastrophe Ensemble B-Classifier network (DE BCN). The DPEC ensemble technique improves forecast accuracy over individual models by integrating various predictive outputs from numerous machine learning models that specialise in distinct kinds of disasters. This is where the data was originally pulled from Kaggle. To finish off the preprocessing, the norma clash filter was used. The next step is to use the optimisation method known as mustard twin swarm to extract characteristics that are connected to the tragedy. With any luck, the calamity Ensemble-B Classifier network will be able to forecast the calamity. Python and the Kaggle database were the environments used to carry out the investigation. According to the results of the simulations, the suggested approach is better than the current standard for predicting the catastrophic state.

Quantum computing changes the way of solving complex problems and handling vast datasets. The introduction of quantum search algorithms, notably Grover's algorithm, addresses the inefficiencies of classical search methods in handling vast datasets by offering substantial speed improvements. However, an inherent aspect of quantum searches is their failure probability. This paper aims to explore the relationship between the failure probability in Grover's algorithm and the privacy guarantees of differential privacy (DP). We further investigate the impact of several quantum circuit parameters, including the number of shots, the number of solutions within the dataset, and circuit noise levels, on this failure probability. Our analysis demonstrates the indirect connection between these quantum circuit elements and the privacy guarantees of DP. Through Monte Carlo simulations, we offer an in-depth analysis that paves the way for secure and faster data querying methods.

Autonomous Robot Navigation in unknown and dynamic environments is considered one of the grand challenges in robotics. These motions that guide it span from rescue operations to planetary exploration. Classical methods for path planning, including A*, Dijkstra, and RRT, were unable to balance the efficiency and adaptability of motion planning over complex terrain. This may have a powerful solution using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) with advanced machine learning techniques to improve the ability of robotic navigation. This study proposes a GAN-based approach for designing an effective self-adaptive path planning and obstacle avoidance system for autonomous robots. Despite performing well in structured environments, traditional techniques normally fail in analysing the unstructured terrains with real-time adjustments and dynamic changes due to the high computational costs and lack of flexibility involved. In this regard, the proposed GAN-based system resolves these issues by rating navigation paths concerning safety and efficiency. Quantitative analysis demonstrates that within a forest, desert, urban, or off-road environment, the computational times by using the developed strategy turn out to be 0.12 seconds, 0.10 seconds, 0.14 seconds, and 0.13 seconds, respectively, behaving much lower than what can be achieved with other algorithms. This approach proves much superior in terms of computational efficiency path smoothness and adaptability under different environmental conditions in applications related to autonomous robot navigation systems.

Quantum computing has revolutionized the approach to solving complex problems and handling vast datasets. However, data leakage in quantum computing may present privacy risks. While differential privacy (DP) has been a classical solution to protect privacy by injecting artificial noises, the implementation of DP within the quantum domain remains an under-explored area. We observe that there is a potential to leverage the inherent noises generated by Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) devices during quantum operations for achieving DP in quantum computing. Given that these inherent noises are uncontrollable, we take the lead to utilize quantum error mitigation (QEM) techniques to manage quantum differential privacy (QDP) protection levels. In our approach, we offer a tangible description of the "closeness" between neighboring quantum datasets and introduce a novel QDP definition based on observables of interest. Our simulations reveal that factors like the distance between neighboring quantum states and the number of circuit executions influence the privacy budget. Notably, by controlling the QEM samples while keeping the number of circuit executions fixed, QEM allows for substantial noise control to meet a desired privacy budget. Furthermore, we extend analysis from single-qubit to multiple qubits and discuss the impact of observables of interest on the privacy budget.

With the emergence of new generation of digital technologies, e.g., artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, big data, edge computing, 5G/6G, VR/AR/MR, and the Internet of Things, an exciting era of metaverse is coming. Interacted and linked with the physical world, metaverse offers a platform of a new social ecosystem, dealing with digital twins and empowering virtual-reality symbiosis. In metaverse, social activities and business processes are performed based on the sequences of workflow or service processes. Bridging both the virtual space and the real world, such metaverse services are more complicated and present many new challenges and research topics. In this paper, the concept and characteristics of metaverse services are presented, the key technologies and typical use cases are reviewed, and the future challenges and opportunities of metaverse services are also discussed. © 2023 IEEE.

We present PathoOpenGait, a cloud-based platform for comprehensive gait analysis. Gait assessment is crucial in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and multiple system atrophy, yet current techniques are neither affordable nor efficient. PathoOpenGait utilizes 2D and 3D data from a binocular 3D camera for monitoring and analyzing gait parameters. Our algorithms, including a semi-supervised learning-boosted neural network model for turn time estimation and deterministic algorithms to estimate gait parameters, were rigorously validated on annotated gait records, demonstrating high precision and consistency. We further demonstrate PathoOpenGait's applicability in clinical settings by analyzing gait trials from Parkinson's patients and healthy controls. PathoOpenGait is the first open-source, cloud-based system for gait analysis, providing a user-friendly tool for continuous patient care and monitoring. It offers a cost-effective and accessible solution for both clinicians and patients, revolutionizing the field of gait assessment. PathoOpenGait is available at https://***. © 2013 IEEE.

BiTrackGAN: Cascaded CycleGANs to Constraint Face Aging

With the increased accuracy of modern computer vision technology, many access control systems are equipped with face recognition functions for faster identification. In order to maintain high recognition accuracy, it is necessary to keep the face database up-to-date. However, it is impractical to collect the latest facial picture of the system's user through human effort. Thus, we propose a bottom-up training method for our proposed network to address this challenge. Essentially, our proposed network is a translation pipeline that cascades two CycleGAN blocks (a widely used unpaired image-to-image translation generative adversarial network) called BiTrackGAN. By bottom-up training, it induces an ideal intermediate state between these two CycleGAN blocks, namely the constraint mechanism. Experimental results show that BiTrackGAN achieves more reasonable and diverse cross-age facial synthesis than other CycleGAN-related methods. As far as we know, it is a novel and effective constraint mechanism for more reason and accurate aging synthesis through the CycleGAN approach. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A scheme for edge computing-enabled offloading in a digital twin (DT) enabled heterogeneous network (HetNet) of multi-services IoT devices (IDs) is proposed. This scheme optimizes the association and handover of IDs, offloading ratio, and resource allocation considering the number of IDs, deadline requirements, and resource capacities. The objective is to enhance future generation networks by considering the ID movement, diverse ID requests, and network heterogeneity. We formulate the problem as Joint ID assOciatIon, offloadiNg ratio, Wireless bandwidth and computIng reSource allocation, and digital twin placEment (JOINWISE), aiming to minimize the task completion time of all IDs while considering ID movement. Since JOINWISE is a mixed-integer nonlinear problem, we decompose it into two sub-problems: the ID Association (IDA) problem and the offloading Ratio, DT plAcement, bandwiDth and computIng resource allOcation (RADIO) problem. IDA can be solved by mapping it to a multi-dimensional multiple knapsacks problem. Due to the non-convexity, high dimension of decision variables, and dynamic HetNet environment of RADIO, we propose a deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) based reinforcement learning method to iteratively solve the two sub-problems. Simulation results have confirmed the effectiveness of our proposed scheme in tackling the JOINWISE problem. © 2015 IEEE.
