Hybrid DF and SIR Forwarding Strategy in Conventional and Distributed Alamouti Space-Time Coded Cooperative networks

In this paper,we propose a hybrid decode-and-forward and soft information relaying(HDFSIR)strategy to mitigate error propagation in coded cooperative *** the HDFSIR approach,the relay operates in decode-and-forward(DF)mode when it successfully decodes the received message;otherwise,it switches to soft information relaying(SIR)*** benefits of the DF and SIR forwarding strategies are combined to achieve better performance than deploying the DF or SIR strategy ***-form expressions for the outage probability and symbol error rate(SER)are derived for coded cooperative communication with HDFSIR and energy-harvesting ***,we introduce a novel normalized log-likelihood-ratio based soft estimation symbol(NL-SES)mapping technique,which enhances soft symbol accuracy for higher-order modulation,and propose a model characterizing the relationship between the estimated complex soft symbol and the actual high-order modulated ***-more,the hybrid DF-SIR strategy is extended to a distributed Alamouti space-time-coded cooperative *** evaluate the~performance of the proposed HDFSIR strategy,we implement extensive Monte Carlo simulations under varying channel *** demonstrate significant improvements with the hybrid technique outperforming individual DF and SIR strategies in both conventional and distributed Alamouti space-time coded cooperative ***,at a SER of 10^(-3),the proposed NL-SES mapping demonstrated a 3.5 dB performance gain over the conventional averaging one,highlighting its superior accuracy in estimating soft symbols for quadrature phase-shift keying modulation.

Lung cancer is the most lethal form of cancer. This paper introduces a novel framework to discern and classify pulmonary disorders such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and lung cancer by analyzing conventional X-ray and CT scan images called lung cancer risk prediction (LCRP) model. LCRP has four modules, namely data collection and preprocessing, data augmentation module, image segmentation module, and prediction module. Actually, LCRP employs three deep learning models;sequential model, functional model, and transfer model on publicly available training datasets. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have emerged as a highly effective field in machine learning, particularly for image datasets in the field of biomedical applications. The primary goal is to validate these models by comparing their performance with other models in order to determine their effectiveness in addressing challenging datasets. Our research has revealed a noteworthy enhancement in the efficiency of binary and multi-class classification using mask R-CNN image segmentation. During the model training process, a combination of Adam and stochastic gradient descent dual optimizers has been used to improve performance. LCRP have outperformed current pre-trained models by minimizing training parameters, computational costs, and overhead. It introduces 98.5% accuracy, 88.7% specificity, 89% sensitivity, 89.2% precision, and 89.09% F-measure. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

Social media has become an essential forum for people to share their thoughts and sentiments owing to the quick rise in mobile technology. Business and political organizations might benefit from understanding public sentiment when making strategic decisions. Challenges in the area include handling noisy and incomplete data, variation in language use across domains, and integration into existing systems of models developed for analysis. In these ways, they can seriously hamper the accuracy and generalizability of sentiment analysis models. In view of the challenges, this work has developed a new and innovative framework of AI-based semantic analysis for assessing and classifying user views from social data. In spite of this, sentiment analysis is crucial for determining the opposing perspectives of the general public's sentiments. This work constructed a new and innovative framework called Semantic analysis based on AI (SemAI) for assessing and categorizing user views from social data. With high efficiency, a collection of intelligence algorithms in the stages of feature extraction, optimization, and sentiment prediction are applied here. The Degree of Correlation Network Model (DCNM) is used in this work to extract the subset of dependable and most-required features from social network data. The most recent meta-heuristics model, Heap based Optimization (HbO), is used to reduce the dimensionality of retrieved features. Furthermore, the unique classification algorithm, Self-Attention based Deep Analyzing Network (SA-DAN), is used in this work to precisely identify and categorize attitudes into positive, neutral, and negative classifications. This present study used a variety of most recent social corpus data to investigate and evaluate the Sem-AI model's outputs. Nowadays, hybrid AC/DC microgrids (HMG) are growing in popularity because of human needs and their benefits. They are composed of the interconnection of a DC microgrid (MG) and an AC MG, and each MG is constituted by generation, energy storage, and consumption technologies. This study develops a new control strategy for an HMG consisting of a DC MG and an AC MG interconnected through a bidirectional power converter. The AC MG is composed of AC loads, a photovoltaic (PV) generator and a battery bank. The DC MG is made up of a hydrogen system, DC loads, wind turbine (WT) and ultracapacitor (UC). The HMG is evaluated under different conditions in an experimental setup constituted by an OPAL-RT 4512 unit and a Raspberry Pi microcontroller. This experimental setup permits to execute the HMG in real time and to validate the results obtained. Few-Shot Learning with Prototypical networks for Improved Memory Forensics

Securing computer systems requires effective methods for malware detection. Memory forensics analyzes memory dumps to identify malicious activity, but faces challenges including large and complex datasets, constantly evolving malware threats, and limited labeled data for training algorithms among others. This research introduces a novel approach for malware detection using memory forensics and prototypical networks. As the first application of prototypical networks to the Dumpware10 dataset (to the best of authors knowledge), our findings highlight the potential of few-shot learning for memory forensics-based malware detection, opening new avenues for research in this domain. Prototypical networks are a type of few-shot learning algorithm that excels at classifying new categories with minimal examples. Utilizing the publicly available Dumpware10 dataset, which includes 10 malware classes and one benign class, we preprocess memory dumps using denoising and A-Hash functions to reduce noise and redundancy. The prototypical network is trained on the first four malware classes and the benign class. It’s then tested on a dataset with one additional class (first five malware classes and the benign class). We progressively increase the number of test classes to eleven. Within each training episode, five training images are used as support samples, with all remaining images designated as query samples. Our goal isn’t to predict exact class labels, but to assess the similarity between query images and prototypes using a distance metric. If the label of a prototype matches the query image and the distance falls below a threshold, it’s considered a true positive. This approach achieves an average accuracy of 92% with eleven classes, the highest across all scenarios and comparable to previous work using machine and deep learning algorithms on this dataset. © 2013 IEEE.

The lack of affordable communication facilities to the shore remains a fundamental problem for fishermen engaged in deep-sea fishing. The Offshore Communication Network (OCN) is a wireless network of fishing vessels, whose goal is to provide Internet over the ocean. However, the dynamic nature of OCNs characterized by extreme weather, the difficulty of deploying additional infrastructure, wave-induced vessel movements, and high mobility causes significant challenges for traditional routing protocols. This paper proposes OCN-AR, a Q-learning-based adaptive routing strategy for ocean networks. The quality of the learning process relies on the reward function, which has been carefully designed to incorporate the most important features, including real-time forecasts of connectivity quality, path probability, link availability duration, and distance to the destination. The routing performance is evaluated through extensive simulations conducted under diverse conditions, including varying mobility scenarios, transmission rates, vessel rocking intensities, and node densities, and is compared against traditional protocols. The results demonstrate that OCN-AR significantly outperforms existing routing approaches, making it a reliable solution for maritime communication. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This paper presents the design and simulation of a single-phase grid-connected inverter control system, focusing on enhancing power quality and dynamic performance. The control system comprises a resonant controller for real and reactive power regulation, ensuring sinusoidal current injection into the grid. Additionally, a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) is incorporated to improve synchronization with the grid voltage, generating accurate reference signals for current control and mitigating harmonic disturbances. The PLL design leverages specific gain parameters, μ1,μ2, and μ3, optimized for a critically damped response. A comprehensive simulation study evaluates the system's performance under different conditions, including soft-start operation, transient power commands, and grid voltage distortion with low-order harmonics (Sth, 7th, LIth, and 13th). Results highlight the system's robust dynamic response, low total harmonic distortion (THD), and effective harmonic attenuation, demonstrating its suitability for grid-connected distributed energy resource (DER) applications. This work provides a scalable and reliable control framework for next-generation inverter systems operating in modern, complex grid environments. © 2025 IEEE.

Slow Start increases the congestion window by doubling each round trip until congestion is detected. As a result, reaching optimal speed typically takes several round trip times, especially important in high bandwidth-delay product networks. Geostationary satellite communications now use Performance Enhancing Proxies to accelerate the growth of the congestion window. However, these are ineffective for connections with encrypted headers or UDP traffic. We propose a new method, Careful Resume, that enables a rapid ramp-up of congestion control by reusing previous parameters. We implement Careful Resume in Picoquic and run performance tests using an emulated geostationary satellite path, three real geostationary satellite networks, the low Earth orbit satellite megaconstellation Starlink, and a cellular 5G network. Results confirm that Careful Resume accelerates the ramp-up process, reducing total transmission time. Even for connections with lower bandwidth-delay products, the network congestion point can be reached much more quickly. Benefits are particularly pronounced for paths with high bandwidth-delay products and medium-sized transfers such as web traffic. © 2025 IEEE.
