Remanufacturing, a popular term in the automotive industry, helps to reduce the need for raw materials, increase profitability, is an effective solution to the challenges of postal items and also benefits the environment. For the remanufacturing department, the reliability and failure rate of serial products is particularly important, and therefore the accurate prediction of failure rates is also important. It must be ensured that the product meets its reliability requirements. Existing one, two and three dimensional reliability prediction models predict field failures as a function of time, based on the stress experienced by the components/systems in the field until failure. The existing models have been extended to include the parameters that allow us to predict the reliability of refurbished systems. Improvements such as registration delays, reporting delays and the corrected candidate calculation, which deals with whether the product is still within the warranty period after the observation period, are present in the models and are applied to the systems. This reduces the incompleteness of warranty data due to the influence of external factors with MATLAB. The reliability of systems can be predicted with the lifetime prediction and further conclusions can be drawn for future development. In the verification process, the predicted field failures of the models are compared with the real field failures. ©ESREL2020-PSAM15 Organizers.

In terms of security and privacy,mobile ad-hoc network(MANET)continues to be in demand for additional debate and *** more MANET applications become data-oriented,implementing a secure and reliable data transfer protocol becomes a major concern in the ***,MANET’s lack of infrastructure,unpredictable topology,and restricted resources,as well as the lack of a previously permitted trust relationship among connected nodes,contribute to the attack detection burden.A novel detection approach is presented in this paper to classify passive and active black-hole *** proposed approach is based on the dipper throated optimization(DTO)algorithm,which presents a plausible path out of multiple paths for statistics transmission to boost MANETs’quality of service.A group of selected packet features will then be weighed by the DTO-based multi-layer perceptron(DTO-MLP),and these features are collected from nodes using the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchical(LEACH)clustering *** is a powerful classifier and the DTO weight optimization method has a significant impact on improving the classification process by strengthening the weights of key features while suppressing the weights ofminor *** hybridmethod is primarily designed to combat active black-hole *** the LEACH clustering phase,however,can also detect passive black-hole *** effect of mobility variation on detection error and routing overhead is explored and evaluated using the suggested *** diverse mobility situations,the results demonstrate up to 97%detection accuracy and faster execution ***,the suggested approach uses an adjustable threshold value to make a correct conclusion regarding whether a node is malicious or benign.

In modern circuit design, the Shannon decomposition of switching functions is widely used. On the other hand, in information theory of telecommunication, the Shannon entropy used as a measure to represent the information in numerical values, is a key notion. In this paper, we relate these two concepts, belonging to different areas, into an approach to the minimisation of exclusive-or sum-of-products (AND/EXOR) expressions for switching functions. The Shannon decomposition, and the closely related Davio decomposition for AND/EXOR expressions are interpreted in terms of basic concepts in the information theory. Thanks to that, we have proposed an entropy based strategy for minimization of AND/EXOR expressions. We have provided a comparison and an experimental verification of this strategy with some known heuristic minimization strategies using benchmarks. In some cases, our program Info-EXOR produces extremely better results. Moreover, the information theory interpretation of classical decomposition of switching functions offers a new point of view to the existing design styles. © 1999 IEEE.

Fog computing extends the capabilities of cloud computing by enabling computing at the edge of the network, involving devices such as mobile collaborative devices or fixed nodes with integrated storage, computing, and communication capabilities. Fog computing offers benefits such as improved efficiency, increased security, savings in network bandwidth, and increased flexibility/in order to provide a complete understanding of Fog computing, this paper presents its salient features and highlights the differences from cloud computing research. Cloud computing is an emerging technology that offers computing resources on a pay-per-use basis. It provides three service models, and the cloud offers cost-effective centrally managed resources for reliable computing for specific tasks. This document presents a comparison between Fog computing and cloud computing, highlighting the differences in design, deployment, services, and tools available to organizations and users. By explicating the distinctiveness of fog computing and its contrast to cloud computing, we contribute to the field by shedding light on the unparalleled potential of fog computing in conserving resources while delivering robust computational solutions at the network periphery. Our study offers a new perspective that challenges the prevailing practices and extends the discourse on optimizing distributed computing architectures. © 2023 IEEE.

Independent mobility is an important feature of an individual's normal life and with the elderly population continually growing, assistive devices such as walkers and canes provide help and guidance to users. Freezing of Gait (FoG) is an episodic phenomenon that is a common symptom of an age-related disease known as Parkinson Disease (PD). This paper is headed toward implementing a detection, diagnosis and correction system for FoG episodes. The proposed cane will generate visual, auditory and tactile cues to help patients overcome this problem, therefore reducing fall risks. In addition, a vibrating calf cuff will be attached to the calf for muscle stimulation. A compatible android phone application is designed to display heart rate measurements of the patient as well as his exact location in case of fall detection. The system is considered to be an electrically safe, portable, comfortable and a low-cost device. The performance of this system is analyzed thoroughly and the accuracy of all methodologies is considered carefully and evaluated. The results have shown no faulty errors and good accuracy and detection percentages. © 2021 IEEE.

Nowadays, one of the most demanding areas of Artificial Intelligence application is to forecast the weather condition as rapid and accurate as possible. The ratio of air vapor pressure to saturation vapor pressure is defined as relative humidity which is represented by a percentage of how much moisture the atmosphere can hold at the same temperature and pressure. The relative humidity has a significant impact on climate change and global warming which have had a negative impact on agriculture, economy, food security, and public health. In addition, accurate weather information and humidity forecasts are frequently required to warn of natural disasters result from unexpected changes in climatic conditions such as relative humidity. Therefore, recent decades have seen a rise in interest in this field of study. The aim of this study is to use Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models to forecast the annual relative humidity in Konya, Turkey between 1931 and 2010 by utilizing the annual average amounts of rain, sunlight, wind speed, and temperature. This paper represents a novel approach to predict annual relative humidity in Konya, which has not been previously explored in this location and between the given dates. As a result, the findings were able to forecast the monthly average humidity for next five years in advance with a mean square error of 0.1705% within 150 episodes. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Remote monitoring of objects or technological processes is used in many industries and service-oriented companies to obtain up-to-date information about the state of things or technical processes. The article is devoted to developing, analyzing, and implementing information technology (IT) for remote monitoring. The high-level design of IT and system for its implementation is based on the IDEF0 Functional Modeling methodology that describes the system hierarchy and establishes horizontal links between various activities. The achieved results confirm the possibility of implementing the proposed technology. The results will be of interest to technical specialists involved in the development of relevant applications but also to business analysts and managers for a better understanding of modern applied information technologies. © 2021 IEEE.

Background: In this Innovative Practice Work in Progress, we present our initial efforts to integrate formal methods, with a focus on model-checking specifications written in Temporal Logic of Actions (TLA+), into computer science education, targeting undergraduate juniors/seniors and graduate students. Many safety-critical systems and services crucially depend on correct and reliable behavior. Formal methods can play a key role in ensuring correct and safe system behavior, yet remain underutilized in educational and industry contexts. Aims: We aim to (1) qualitatively assess the state of formal methods in computer science programs, (2) construct level-appropriate examples that could be included midway into one's undergraduate studies, (3) demonstrate how to address successive 'failuresy' through progressively stringent safety and liveness requirements, and (4) establish an ongoing framework for assessing interest and relevance among students. Methods: We detail our pedagogical strategy for embedding TLA+ into an intermediate course on formal methods at our institution. After starting with a refresher on mathematical logic, students specify the rules of simple puzzles in TLA+ and use its included model checker (known as TLC) to find a solution. We gradually escalate to more complex, dynamic, event-driven systems, such as the control logic of a microwave oven, where students will study safety and liveness requirements. We subsequently discuss explicit concurrency, along with thread safety and deadlock avoidance, by modeling bounded counters and buffers. Results: Our initial findings suggest that through careful curricular design and choice of examples and tools, it is possible to inspire and cultivate a new generation of software engineers proficient in formal methods. Conclusions: Our initial efforts suggest that 84% of our students had a positive experience in our formal methods course. To remanufacture automobile systems, it is important to understand the future failure rate of the serially produced systems. In addition, remanufacturing departments need the information about the number of cores to remanufacture, the condition of these cores, as well as the number of replacement systems the market needs. Based on the existing univariate, bivariate and multivariate models a new improved forecasting model is developed, which considers practical factors like export of the vehicle to other countries, damage of the entire vehicle, reporting delay between production and in-market time or between vehicle failure and failure reporting time. Nowadays the information of future rates of systems produced in series appears to be crucial to the production plan, especially for remanufacturing departments. Several questions need to be answered: the number of cores to remanufacture the condition of those cores as well as the number of replacement system the market requires. Based on a bivariate prognosis model, a multivariate model is developed to take more variables of stress in field into account. What's more, the fitting process has been optimized by using neural networks. This paper presents all necessary tools to perform a multivariate lifetime prognosis as well as the implementation in MATLAB. © 2019 European Safety and Reliability Association.
