In recent years, the global cryptocurrency market has attracted a diverse range of traders, from seasoned professionals to newcomers, resulting in a highly volatile environment. This volatility presents numerous opportunities for traders to capitalize on rapid price fluctuations. In this context, we introduce a Random Forest model designed to predict whether a coin will experience growth in the next trading candle, using several input features. We used Binance historical daily data from 1 Jan 2018 to 31 Dec 2021 to train our models and evaluated them using different time spans (varied between Jan 2022 to Oct 2023) as testing datasets. Moreover, we also used an over sampled training dataset to enhance the training process. Demonstrating notable precision, especially with a growth rate of 1%, the model has proven effective across various scenarios, consistently yielding profits. To be more specific, regarding the testing datasets of 1 to 31 Oct 2023, 1 Jul 2023 to 30 Sep 2023, and LSK/USDT from 1 Jan 2022 to 31 OCT 2023, using a growth rate of 1%, we achieved 18%, 30%, and 68% profits, respectively. This study underscores the potential for leveraging well-designed machine learning models to achieve significant profits, even in bearish market conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

This article provides a detailed description, analysis, and visualization of a case–control genome-wide genotypic dataset from the North American Rheumatoid Arthritis Consortium (NARAC). The data is presented in terms of the number of females and males in both cases and controls, as well as the percentage of missing data. The number of alleles and genotypes is also counted, and the minor allele frequency (MAF) is calculated for each single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). The data is further classified into four categories based on the SNP's MAF, namely, very rare, rare, low frequency, and common SNPs. The regions of these categories in the chromosome are investigated to determine the proportion of SNPs in coding locations and other regions. It is observed that each category has a different proportion in each region of consequence annotation. The data composition in terms of alleles and genotypes is found to be greatly disproportionate. The results present clear insights into the data and its MAF, which can be compared with other datasets. These findings can aid researchers in gaining a comprehensive understanding of such case–control datasets and bring accurate insights into the data. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

This research-to-practice paper describes the development of an innovative practice aimed at addressing the global surge in student stress and related mental health challenges, particularly in engineering education. Student well-being is foundational to academic success, with studies indicating that dropout rates for students with stress are more than 50% and mental health problems can range as high as 83% in engineering education. Stress and elevated levels of inattention are associated with decreased academic interest, decision-making, self-efficacy, study skills, and GPA. Research has shown that stress levels can be reduced by meditation techniques and they induce attention. In this research, a three-stage guided meditation called ChakraMarmaKosha Meditation II (CM-II) was developed to improve the attention level of students. It involves past emotional cleansing, reviewing the day, visualizing the future components, and is accompanied by flute music that is composed based on a chosen Raga. In this study, a data analysis pipeline was developed for detailed spectral analysis to measure variations in attention due to meditation. In an in-person EEG experiment, a study group of 15 college students underwent this CM-II meditation process in a lab setting. The EEG spectral analysis underscored an enhancement in attentional focus post-meditation, as evidenced by key shifts in spectral ratios such as the notable decrease in Theta to Beta Ratio (TBR) and the surge in Theta to Gamma Ratio (TGR). The observed results were validated using attention scores from tests on the TestMyBrain tool. This study underscores the potential benefits of the CM-II meditation technique in fostering enhanced attention, reduced stress, and consequently improved academic performance in engineering education. Image-based 3D reconstruction is one of the most important tasks in computer Vision with many solutions proposed over the last few decades. The objective is to extract metric information i.e. the geometry of scene objects directly from images. These can then be used in a wide range of applications such as film, games, virtual reality, etc. Recently, deep learning techniques have been proposed to tackle this problem. They rely on training on vast amounts of data to learn to associate features between images through deep convolutional neural networks and have been shown to outperform traditional procedural techniques. In this paper, we improve on the state-of-the-art two-view structure-from-motion(SfM) approach of [11] by incorporating 4D correlation volume for more accurate feature matching and reconstruction. Furthermore, we extend it to the general multi- view case and evaluate it on the complex benchmark dataset DTU [5]. Quantitative evaluations and comparisons with state-of-the-art multi-view 3D reconstruction methods demonstrate its superiority in terms of the accuracy of reconstructions. © 2023 IEEE.

The article describes the scientific problem of optimizing the processes of acquiring knowledge when processing textual information presented in the form of a graph, based on the development of a modified bioinspired algorithm for extracting keywords. The solution proposed by the authors differs from the known ones by introducing new attractive operators and behavioral patterns of bacterial agents into the computational model of the bacterial swarm algorithm. This approach allows you to balance the ratio of the speed of convergence of the algorithm with the diversification of the search space for solutions. The article also presents an analytical study of the features of two types of parsing: constituency parsing and dependency parsing. As part of the study, algorithms for syntactic parsing of dependencies between elements of text information and a graph-based dependency parsing algorithm are described. The formulation of the problem of keyword extraction is given. The task of achieving a balance between accuracy and speed of a linguistic parser is an open topic that requires further research due to the importance of this problem for improving the efficiency of text analysis, especially in applications that require real-time accuracy. To increase the efficiency of solving the problem, the authors propose a modified bioinspired algorithm for extracting keywords. The computational experiment carried out allows us to conclude that the modified bacterial optimization method proposed by the authors is in a leading position, which confirms the need to continue research into the applicability of bioinspired methods for solving problems of acquiring knowledge when processing text information presented in the form of a graph. In recent years, with the rise of e-commerce and digital services, customers' expectations have affected supply chain management operations. The logistics industry reacts proactively by integrating new technologies into its systems to meet changing customer expectations. Among these technologies, a relatively new concept called Supply Chain of Things (SCoT) is an enabling technology for supply chain operations to increase productivity and automation. However, a large number of customer orders and increasing concerns about operating costs challenge efficient management and quality of service in SCoT. In this regard, this paper addresses the order-picking problem of minimizing delivery time and operating costs, including travel costs and total costs to the employer. Metaverse can be considered a feasible solution to address this problem due to its advantages of seamless and intelligent interaction between the physical world and the digital world. In this paper, we present a metaverse-based system architecture and design the network digital twin to enable intelligent real-time management of the SCoT environment. We formulate the order-picking problem and propose a genetic algorithm-based solution to satisfy customer demands on time with minimal operating costs by creating a digital twin of the supply chain system in the Metaverse. The simulation results show that the proposed solution achieves significant gains compared with baseline strategies in terms of the total cost to the employer while keeping order delivery time under the acceptable customer level. © 2024 IEEE.

The performance evaluation of candidate architectures is a key step in evolution-based neural architecture search (ENAS). Generally, high-fidelity evaluation is desired for finding the optimal architecture but suffers from expensive computational cost while low-fidelity evaluation can reduce search cost but may influence the search performance. In this work, a hybrid search method, HybridNAS, is proposed by synergizing these two evaluation strategies to improve the search effectiveness of ENAS. This method consists of two stages: global exploration and local exploitation. The former applies low-fidelity evaluation to explore the promising architectures efficiently. As for the latter, it exploits the most promising ones identified by the former to generate the better-performancing architectures. Those two stages are iteratively repeated toward the optimal architecture. Extensive experiments on NAS-Bench-101 and NAS-Bench-201 reflect that HybridNAS can achieve comparable accuracy compared to existing popular NAS but at the expense of only 60%-80% computational cost. © 2023 ACM.

Skeleton-based action recognition is a crucial task in computer vision, aiming to perform pattern recognition on a skeleton sequence to identify the actions represented by the skeleton's semantics. However, current mainstream skeleton-based methods primarily rely on global edge information. Unimportant edges may influence this approach, limiting the model's performance in action recognition tasks. Additionally, because these methods treat all information equally, they may lead to resource wastage. This paper proposes a Hypergraph Transformer-based action recognition method using Adaptive EdgeConv Module(AEM) to address these issues effectively. In this method, we introduce Adaptive Edge Graph Convolution Networks(AEGCNs), which utilize the AEM to adaptive obtain edge sets and edge set weights, thereby adaptive identifying key edge sets. With this information, the model can dynamically adjust the importance of different edge sets based on various samples. This approach improves the accuracy of action recognition and reduces the loss of computational resources. Our experimental results on two challenging benchmark datasets (i.e., NTU RGB+D and NTU RGB+D 120) show that the proposed method is comparable to state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 IEEE.

Malaria is one of the most serious and threatening diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa. Its cases increase drastically during the rainy season. It can spread throughout an infected person's entire body in less than an hour. The diagnosis process is time-consuming, and its accuracy is negatively affected due to the lack of technical tools and infrastructure in many laboratories in malaria-prone countries. Hospitals, however, keep patient data during the diagnosis period. Due to the vast amount of diagnostic data gathered and stored on a daily basis in various mediums such as files, it has become increasingly crucial to develop powerful techniques for analysing and interpreting the data. This analysis aims to extract meaningful knowledge and insights that can significantly contribute to malaria diagnosis and decision-making processes. This paper selected four frequency-based algorithms, namely Naïve Bayes, (J48) Decision Tree, ZeroR, and the OneR algorithm, to develop a hybrid model for frequency-based classification algorithms using the available dataset of malaria diagnoses collected from the Federal Medical Centre in Yola, Adamawa state. The research results indicate that the highest accuracy, 88.4%, was achieved by the (J48) Decision Tree model. Additionally, this research employed ensemble methods to enhance the performance of each classification model. The results demonstrated that the accuracy of the Decision Tree and ZeroR models remained the same at 88.4% and 60.9% before and after boosting, respectively. In contrast, the accuracy of the Naïve Bayes and OneR models increased from 79.9% to 87.0% and from 79.8% to 87.6% before and after boosting, respectively. In conclusion, among the frequency-based classification models, the Decision Tree model consistently exhibited the highest accuracy both before and after boosting. © 2023 IEEE.
