software system documentation is almost always expressed informally, in natural language and free text. Examples include requirement specifications, design documents, user manual pages, system development journals, error logs and related maintenance reports. We propose an approach to establish and maintain traceability links between the source code and free-text documents. A premise of our work is that programmers use meaningful names for program's items, such as functions, variables, types, classes and methods. We believe that the application domain knowledge that programmers process when writing the code is often captured by the mnemonics for identifiers; therefore, the analysis of these mnemonics can help to associate high-level concepts with program concepts, and vice versa. In this paper, the approach is applied to software written in an object-oriented (OO) language, namely C++, to trace classes to manual sections.

The authors present a new nerve cuff electrode based on a shape memory alloy (SMA) armature. This device is dedicated to functional electrical stimulation of the bladder in spinal cord injured patients. The SMA armature performs the closing of the electrode, making its instillation around the nerve much easier, quicker and safer. Both remarkable mechanical properties of SMA materials namely shape memory effect and superelasticity, can be used to obtain the desired actuation of the electrode closing. The manufacturing procedure of this new electrode is described. It does not require any expensive or complex techniques. Bipolar and tripolar electrodes have been manufactured with an inner diameter of 1.6 mm and a cuff wall thickness of 0.8 mm. Acute studies in dogs are being carried out to validate the device and the implantation procedure. In order to test the electrical functionality of the electrode, a fully programmable biphasic stimuli generator has been designed and implemented using FPDs (Field Programmable Devices).

In this paper a homodyne multi-port network analyzer using a single six-port junction as a wave correlator is proposed for the characterization of N-port microwave devices, circuits and systems. The six-port wave correlator is operated as a two-channel wave receiver. The use of an additional test set, which comprises two switching matrices and N directional couplers, allows the measurements of complete S parameter matrices of N-port devices. By comparison to existing network analyzers, the proposed system is homodyne in the sense that it does not require any frequency down conversion to determine the phase information and uses only one six-port junction to obtain complex S parameter measurements from only scalar measurements.

Indeed, despite the availability of some efficient exact-zero skew algorithms that can be applied during circuit design, the clock skew remains an important performance limiting factor after chip manufacturing, and is of increasing concern for sub-micron technologies. In this paper, the novel FEMOL (finite element-method of lines) technique to solve electromagnetic problems is introduced and the basic concept and theory is described in detail through the Poisson equation. Some numerical results are given to demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of this method. From the discussion given, it can be seen that the FEMOL appears to have a strong resemblance to the finite element method and method of lines but has the advantages of both methods. This method is being extended to analyse time-varying and three dimension electromagnetic field boundary value problems.
