This work is devoted to the study of the features of functioning in Collaborative Human-AI Decision-Making systems with numerical channels. The system operates in automatic mode without external influences. The channels can be both artificial intelligence software and competent experts giving conclusions on the question under study. The cases considered are those in which an agreed solution must be numerical and logical. For each of these cases, decision rules for the system have been developed. The developed rules include the ability to take into account the reliability of the channels, which allows expanding their number in the system if necessary. © 2022 IEEE.

Gamification is a promising approach with expanding applications in academia and industry. Gamification techniques can increase psychological and behavioral engagement with a particular domain with the help of game elements. This study examines gamification within the MDE framework, focusing on its dynamics, mechanics, and emotional components, with a particular emphasis on its relation to cognitive evaluation. We conduct a comparative analysis of the MDE framework to align game elements with user segments that respond best to them. Additionally, we explore the cognitive outcomes of the MDE-based gamification framework, highlighting its relevance and impact. Here, we compare the results of past research on various gamified platforms, tasks, and strategies, which analyzed their effects on user behavior and cognitive reactions. We also identify the published correlations between game elements and cognitive outcomes. We synthesize these results into a model demonstrating which game elements can enhance user experience and performance and outlining future research directions.

Joint safety and security analysis of cyber-physical systems is a necessary step to correctly capture inter-dependencies between these properties. Attack-Fault Trees represent a combination of dynamic Fault Trees and Attack Trees and can be used to model and model-check a holistic view on both safety and security. Manually creating a complete AFT for the whole system is, however, a daunting task. It needs to span multiple abstraction layers, e.g., abstract application architecture and data flow as well as system and library dependencies that are affected by various vulnerabilities. We present an AFT generation tool-chain that facilitates this task using partial Fault and Attack Trees that are either manually created or mined from vulnerability databases. We semi-automatically create two system models that provide the necessary information to automatically combine these partial Fault and Attack Trees into complete AFTs using graph transformation rules. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

Frequently, individuals undergo specific episodes of mental health challenges throughout their lifetime. But the COVID pandemic has triggered a surge in mental health disorders arising from isolation, monotonous routines, demanding workloads, financial disparities, and disruptions to daily schedules. Furthermore, the global pandemic has induced constant anxiety and stress. Beyond the pandemic, the competition and intense pressure of the modern world impact mental health. Access to advanced mental health solutions and the necessary familiarity remain limited for most of the population. Given the integration of technology into daily life, diverse remedies, including mobile and web applications, have emerged to tackle the escalating challenge of mental health disorders. This study proposes an accessible and cost-effective approach that employs machine learning to detect stress levels and discern user emotions from journal entries and facial expressions while integrating self-journaling, video recommendations, and visual content generation to stimulate positive emotions and relieve stress.

Healthcare Professionals’ Perceptions Towards Ai Integration in Jordan's Health Sector

PurposeThe impact of AI on healthcare is widely recognized there remains a scarcity of studies examining how doctors perceive and approach its use in medicine. This study aims to gather insights from healthcare providers in Jordan concerning the advantages of integrating AI into practices, their perspectives on AI applications in healthcare, and their views on the future role of AI in replacing key tasks within health *** survey was conducted among healthcare professionals working at facilities in Jordan. An online questionnaire was used to collect data on demographics, attitudes toward using AI for tasks, and opinions on the benefits of AI adoption. Categorical variables were presented as counts and percentages, while the continuous variables were interpreted as mean and standard deviation. The associations between the determinants and the outcomes were done using one-way ANOVA. Any test with a P-value 0.05 was considered *** total of 612 healthcare professionals participated in the survey with females comprising a majority of respondents (52.8%). The majority of respondents showed optimism about AI’s potential to improve and revolutionize the field, although there were concerns about AI replacing human roles. Generally, physical therapists, medical researchers, and pharmacists displayed openness to incorporating AI into their work routines. Younger individuals aged between 18 and 40 seemed accepting of AI in the domain. Diabetes Mellitus has no permanent cure to date and is one of the leading causes of death globally. The alarming increase in diabetes calls for the need to take precautionary measures to avoid/predict the occurrence of diabetes. This paper proposes HealthEdge, a machine learning-based smart healthcare framework for type 2 diabetes prediction in an integrated IoT-edge-cloud computing system. Numerical experiments and comparative analysis were carried out between the two most used machine learning algorithms in the literature, Random Forest (RF) and Logistic Regression (LR), using two real-life diabetes datasets. The results show that RF predicts diabetes with 6% more accuracy on average compared to LR. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

Runtime Backdoor Detection for Federated Learning via Representational Dissimilarity Analysis

Federated learning (FL), as a powerful learning paradigm, trains a shared model by aggregating model updates from distributed clients. However, the decoupling of model learning from local data makes FL highly vulnerable to backdoor attacks, where a single compromised client can poison the shared model. While recent progress has been made in backdoor detection, existing methods face challenges with detection accuracy and runtime effectiveness, particularly when dealing with complex model architectures. In this work, we propose a novel approach to detecting malicious clients in an accurate, stable, and efficient manner. Our method utilizes a sampling-based network representation method to quantify dissimilarities between clients, identifying model deviations caused by backdoor injections. We also propose an iterative algorithm to progressively detect and exclude malicious clients as outliers based on these dissimilarity measurements. Evaluations across a range of benchmark tasks demonstrate that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art methods in detection accuracy and defense effectiveness. When deployed for runtime protection, our approach effectively eliminates backdoor injections with marginal overheads. © 2025, CC BY.

Based on the apparatus of fractional integro-differentiation, a mathematical model of moisture transport in media with a fractal structure is considered for both one-dimensional and two-dimensional cases. A new convolutional learning architecture, based on existing data, is proposed for numerical modeling and behavior assessment of the dynamic process. This architecture is grounded in the fractal Euler method and the finite difference method. Initial and boundary conditions are tightly integrated into the network architecture, and residual connections, which explicitly model time progression and account for the fractional order of the time derivative, further enhance the model. Numerical results obtained using the developed software confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of solution accuracy.

An independent industrial system may transform into a connected network through the assistance of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The deployed sensors in the IIoT maintain surveillance of the industrial machinery and equipment. As a result, safety and reliability emerge as the primary concerns in IIoT. This presents a variety of well-known and increasing issues related to the industrial system. The IIoT devices are exposed to a wide range of malware, threats, and assaults. To prevent the IIoT devices from malware effects, effective protection plans must be implemented. But adequate security mechanisms are not be incorporated in IIoT devices with limited resources. It is essential to ensure the accuracy and dependability of information gathered by IIoT devices. Decisions taken with incomplete or inaccurate data might be devastating. To overcome these difficulties deep learning with reinforcement learning for complex decision-making in industry applications is developed in this research work. In this developed model, an Adaptive Deep Reinforcement learning (ADRL)-based resource management is performed to reduce the operation cost associated with IIoT deployments. Energy efficiency is essential in IIoT ecosystem, particularly for the devices that run on batteries. Through dynamic resource allocation based on workload needs and energy limits, ADRL-based resource management optimizes the usage of energy. The reliability of the designed model is enhanced by fine-tuning the parameters from DRL using the Ship Rescue Optimization (SRO) algorithm. Thus, ADRL-based resource management systems make real-time decisions based on current environmental conditions and system requirements. This helps the IIoT systems to react quickly to change demands and optimize resource allocation. In Ad customization, several approaches are employed to improve the relevance level of the message for monitoring the user performance according to the prior search history (e.g., retargeting) or by gathering particular information related to the customer (e.g., micro-targeting). Occasionally, the consumers view the ad developed by the other user, in this situation, the ads are viewed as something that can be related by the user. The quantity of information that is gathered openly or secretly can affect the user choice for the content displayed. However, the users remain as recipients of a strategy, that decides the best ad content. Therefore, an exploring Generative Artificial Intelligence-based Dynamic Ad Customization model for enhancing viewer engagement from streaming media is developed. In this paper, the Generative Long Short-Term Memory (GenLSTM) model is developed for examining customized advertising then includes the customization of specific message elements by individuals, variation in the level of ad customization, and in some cases perceived collaboration with others. Here, the customization classification is defined based on the modification in the marketing mix element that is created by the customer proactively as opposed to the company. In regards to customized advertising, “ad is something that happens with the viewer”. The customization increases based on the sense of task engagement, strength of the perceived customer relationship with the company, attitude toward the ad, and perceptions of company trust/integrity. Finally, the experimental analysis is conducted based on the relationship with the company, company care, company trust, and task engagement to attain the overall impact on ad customization.
