In recent years,cross-modal hash retrieval has become a popular research field because of its advantages of high efficiency and low ***-modal retrieval technology can be applied to search engines,crossmodalmedical processing,*** existing main method is to use amulti-label matching paradigm to finish the retrieval ***,such methods do not use fine-grained information in the multi-modal data,which may lead to suboptimal *** avoid cross-modal matching turning into label matching,this paper proposes an end-to-end fine-grained cross-modal hash retrieval method,which can focus more on the fine-grained semantic information of multi-modal ***,the method refines the image features and no longer uses multiple labels to represent text features but uses BERT for ***,this method uses the inference capabilities of the transformer encoder to generate global fine-grained ***,in order to better judge the effect of the fine-grained model,this paper uses the datasets in the image text matching field instead of the traditional label-matching *** article experiment on Microsoft COCO(MS-COCO)and Flickr30K datasets and compare it with the previous *** experimental results show that this method can obtain more advanced results in the cross-modal hash retrieval field.

Interest in supporting Federated Learning (FL) using blockchains has grown significantly in recent years. However, restricting access to the trained models only to actively participating nodes remains a challenge even today. To address this concern, we propose a methodology that incentivizes model parameter sharing in an FL setup under Local Differential Privacy (LDP). The nodes that share less obfuscated data under LDP are awarded higher quantum of tokens, which they can later use to obtain session keys for accessing encrypted model parameters updated by the server. If one or more of the nodes do not contribute to the learning process by sharing their data, or share only highly perturbed data, they earn less number of tokens. As a result, such nodes may not be able to read the new global model parameters if required. Local parameter sharing and updating of global parameters are done using the distributed ledger of a permissioned blockchain, namely HyperLedger Fabric (HLF). Being a blockchain-based approach, the risk of a single point of failure is also mitigated. Appropriate chaincodes, which are smart contracts in the HLF framework, have been developed for implementing the proposed methodology. Results of an extensive set of experiments firmly establish the feasibility of our approach. © 2024 IEEE.

The worldwide health catastrophe sparked by the COVID-19 epidemic continues, emphasizing the need for novel solutions in prediction, early diagnosis, and treatment. While vaccine development has progressed, the virus’s eradication remains questionable. This research presents a strong machine learning-driven approach to addressing this complicated problem. Rapid viral transmission and the lack of a single cure hamper illness diagnosis and treatment, particularly in highly populated developing countries like Bangladesh. Against this context, machine learning and artificial intelligence have emerged as critical instruments for the improvement of health care and medical research. This research investigates several machine learning algorithms and approaches that show potential for COVID-19 prediction. Among these is an algorithm that assesses individual vulnerability and environmental variables, allowing for self-diagnosis and early intervention, reducing the strain on healthcare institutions and government resources. This study demonstrates how machine learning may improve forecast accuracy and provide proactive treatment in pandemic management. Advanced techniques, such as K-nearest neighbor, Decision Tree, Random Forest, AdaBoost, XGBoost, Stochastic Gradient Descent, Linear SVC, Perceptron, Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machines, Logistic Regression, and Discriminant Analysis, are essential for achieving the best results. Finally, this research emphasizes the need for novel responses to global health challenges. Healthcare systems may improve their forecasting capacities and early intervention techniques by leveraging machine learning. In recent years, the pervasive dissemination of misinformation and deliberately falsified content, commonly referred to as 'fake news,' has become a critical challenge in the realm of information dissemination. With the exponential growth of digital media and online platforms, the ease and speed at which misleading information can be generated and spread have increased substantially. Addressing the formidable task of detecting fake news has thus become an imperative within the field of information technology. The supervised model gives promising results. However, the availability of labelled data is critical in the realm of fake news detection. Leveraging unlabeled data alongside labelled data is an effective approach, but it requires careful handling. This paper explores the application of Semi-Supervised Learning for fake news detection by integrating Label Propagation and various ML models as base classifiers. By leveraging both labelled and unlabeled data, Label Propagation with CatBoost Classifier seeks to overcome traditional limitations, offering a promising avenue for bolstering the reliability of automated systems in distinguishing between authentic and deceptive information in the vast landscape of digital content. © 2024 IEEE.

Transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative games

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

Ovarian cancer is a global health concern due to the unavailability of an effective screening strategy and is often diagnosed at a late stage with approximately 70% of the case which reduces the survival chances of patients. Initial diagnosis is challenging due to inconspicuous symptoms in its initial stages which complicate its timely diagnosis. Regular screenings, such as pelvic exams, ultrasounds, and blood tests targeting specific biomarkers can be helpful for early diagnosis. In addition, the use of machine learning models can help automate this process thereby assisting medical experts for accurate diagnosis. This study aims at timely and accurate detection of ovarian cancer using a transfer learning approach that uses the MobileNet model. Moreover, the Chi-square technique is used to extract the most impactful features for better accuracy. For experiments, the Soochow University ovarian cancer dataset is employed. Extensive experiments are performed using all features from the dataset, as well as, using Chi-square-based selective features. The best accuracy of 90.88% is achieved with the Xception model when all features are used. Experimental results show a substantial increase when selective features are used indicating a 98.49% accuracy using the MobileNet model with 20 most important features. In addition, precision, recall, and F1 scores of 99.13%, 99.27%, and 99.20% are obtained showing the model’s robustness and generalization. This study also employs Shapley additive explanations to explain the importance of various features toward the model’s output thereby providing transparency for the model’s decision-making process. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

A vital part of today's transportation infrastructure is the railway system that facilitates the massive movement of people and products. With so many people and commodities being transported, the rail tracks could develop defects and flaws over time. The development of these defects might jeopardize the safety and integrity of the rails due to persistent wear and tear, exposure to harsh environmental factors and the enormous loads carried by trains. Hence, to prevent faults and to avoid accidents, it is essential to maintain track safety. Thus, researchers focused on different technologies with different methodologies for detecting the defect that occurred in rail tracks as early as possible. Therefore, this paper summarizes the available methods and technologies for detecting defects and faults in railway tracks. © 2024 IEEE.

A new parallel file system and multi-core processor-based dynamic multimedia encryption method is presented in this study. Multimedia encryption efficiency and security were the main goals, addressing massive data sets and high-speed processing. We created a dynamic encryption algorithm for multimedia content, supported by a strong parallel file system and tuned for multi-core processing. Multiple tests showed significant improvements in encryption and decryption times, retaining short durations for real-time applications. After encryption, the system maintained multimedia content quality and accuracy with data integrity rates nearing 100%. Balanced CPU utilization showed efficient resource use and processor load management. The system's excellent throughput efficiency showed its capacity to process enormous amounts of data. These results indicate that parallel file systems and multi-core CPUs may solve multimedia encryption problems. Adaptable and scalable, the system supports many multimedia formats and sizes. This paper proposes a multimedia encryption system that improves performance data security and integrity, paving the way for safe multimedia processing advances. © 2024 IEEE.

Purpose: The primary objective of this research is to develop a comprehensive framework for the analysis of brain tumor images, addressing the complexities of detection, segmentation, and classification. Given the intricate nature of brain anatomy and tumor variability, the study aims to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of brain tumor diagnosis using advanced imaging and processing techniques. Methods: The framework utilizes Brain Tumor Segmentation (BraTS) 2019 and 2020 datasets, applying an AMW-PM filter to enhance image quality. Tumor segmentation employs a slimmable transformer with hybrid axial attention for precision. Classification uses similarity navigated graph neural networks (SNGNNs), optimized with the crayfish algorithm (CFO) to minimize loss and enhance performance. Results: The framework’s effectiveness was validated using key performance metrics, showing significant improvements in tumor detection and classification. The combination of advanced segmentation techniques and the SNGNN classifier, optimized by the CFO, led to a fivefold increase in diagnostic accuracy. These improvements demonstrated a substantial enhancement in the model's ability to correctly identify tumor types and provide reliable outputs for clinical use. Conclusion: The proposed framework delivers a robust solution for brain tumor analysis, integrating cutting-edge techniques for image processing, segmentation, and classification. The results not only highlight improvements in diagnostic accuracy but also contribute to better clinical decision-making in managing brain tumors. Social media is reflected as a rich source of information because it is widely used by people to share their emotions, views, and opinions. Therefore, this information should be mined qualitatively for the purpose of Emotion Recognition (ER). Various other applications associated with ER are public mood detection, identifying psychological (depression/anxiety) disorders, online product sales prediction, etc. This work exploits optimized SVM (Support Vector Machine) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) classifiers for recognition of emotions in textual Twitter messages. The multiple feature extraction model combined with optimal Binary Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm (BGOA)-based feature selection (FS) enhances the computation process. The meta-heuristic algorithm-based FS improves the classification accuracy with minimal computation time and speed up the classifier for recognizing the multiclass emotions. The performance measures are done at various training rates.
