This paper concerns the computer-aided process of designing architectural objects in the form of 3D primitive configurations following the general-to-detail principle. design objects are represented by labeled specific graphs called composition graphs (CP-graphs) with nodes that have bonds to which edges are attached. The problem of grouping 3D design primitives in patterns with the possibility of their multiple uses is considered. This paper aims to show how to create equivalents of patterns at the level of CP-graphs and what possibilities this type of graph structure gives. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The paper presents an overview of some modern technologies for three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting of human tissues and organs. 3D bioprinting of human organs is increasingly used for the production and transplantation of artificial biological organs. Existing technologies of 3D bioprinting using bioink on a special substrate are considered. The features of the production of bioinks using biocompatible polymer compounds, hydrogels are given, some popular modern bioprinters are noted. Modern technologies of bioprinting of tissues of human organs are considered: skin, liver, lungs, heart, brain, existing technological problems in this area are given. Based on the analysis, the future prospects for the development of bioprinting technology for human organs are noted. © 2022 by Begell House, Inc.

Live Feedback for Training Through Real-Time Data Visualizations: A Study with League of Legends

With competitive gaming on the rise, players have developed an increased interest in data-driven feedback of their in-game performance. In many cases, this feedback is presented visually post-play but live companions that provide real-time analytics are gaining more and more attention. However, the design of such systems poses different requirements which have been little explored from a scholarly point of view. In this paper, we report on a study of two visualizations - a physical and digital one - providing live feedback to League of Legends players designed based on a community survey (N= 175) and expert input. We further discuss results of a qualitative evaluation with 13 players and an expert, touch upon potential benefits and drawbacks of physical and digital implementations, and present derived design considerations and challenges for such real-time data visualizations, revolving around issues of information density, contextualization, representation, and a diverse range of user needs. © 2022 ACM.

A structural diagram of a vibratory drum separator has been developed, and based on it, a mathematical model of the separator’s oscillatory motion has been constructed. The mathematical model was built using nonlinear mechanics methods and Lagrange equations. The obtained dependencies allow for determining the influence of geometric and physico-mechanical parameters on various factors affecting the intensity of the separation process. The research results should be used both at the design stages of vibratory separators and when selecting their parameters and operational modes. © 2024 Dariia Rebot, et al.

Vibratory equipment is widely used in various fields of mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing engineering. Particularly, such machines can be effectively implemented while carrying out finishing technological operations, e.g., glazing, polishing, and lapping of different machine parts. The present paper is focused on developing the control system for the novel design of a vibratory lapping-polishing machine driven by six solenoids. The main purpose consists in providing the circular trajectory of the working member and ensuring the machining uniformity at each point of the surface being treated. In such a case, it is proposed to actuate the solenoids with the specified time shift depending on the forced frequency needed to be provided. The duration of the signal actuating the solenoid is equal to one-sixth of the total duration of a cycle (period) of the working body oscillation. The corresponding control approach is developed and simulated in the Tinkercad application, while the control system is designed based on the Arduino hardware and software. In addition, the laboratory prototype of the vibratory lapping-polishing machine and the corresponding control system are implemented in practice. The performed laboratory studies and experimental tests substantiate the possibilities of generating the circular oscillations of the working member of the vibration-driven lapping-polishing machine. The obtained results may be useful for engineers and technologists dealing with control systems of various vibratory technological equipment based on electromagnetic and solenoid-type drives. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper theoretically studies the axisymmetric frictionless indentation of a transversely isotropic piezoelectric semiconductor(PSC)half-space subject to a rigid flatended cylindrical *** contact area and other surface of the PSC half-space are assumed to be electrically *** the Hankel integral transformation,the problem is reduced to the Fredholm integral equation of the second *** equation is solved numerically to obtain the indentation behaviors of the PSC half-space,mainly including the indentation force-depth relation and the electric potential-depth *** results show that the effect of the semiconductor property on the indentation responses is limited within a certain range of variation of the steady carrier *** dependence of indentation behavior on material properties is also analyzed by two different kinds of *** element simulations are conducted to verify the results calculated by the integral equation technique,and good agreement is demonstrated.

This paper presents a tool for automatic and interactive visualization of game plots, which can be used to check whether the designers’ work meets the constraints of the world, to help testers control played game story paths. The referential designers’ game plots can be imported from any flowchart diagrams as an XML file and the actual gameplay variant is generated on the fly and applied to the original design based on detected common diagram points. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

SGLDBench: A Benchmark Suite for Stress-Guided Lightweight 3D designs

We introduce the Stress-Guided Lightweight design Benchmark (SGLDBench), a comprehensive benchmark suite to apply and evaluate material layout strategies for generating stiff lightweight designs in 3D domains. SGLDBench provides a seamlessly integrated simulation and analysis framework, providing six reference strategies accompanied by a scalable multigrid elasticity solver to efficiently execute these strategies and validate the stiffness of their results. This facilitates systematic analysis and comparison of design strategies regarding the mechanical properties they achieve. SGLDBench enables the evaluation of diverse settings of load conditions and, through the tight integration of the solver, enables support for high-resolution designs and stiffness analysis. Moreover, SGLDBench emphasizes visual analysis to explore relations between the geometric structure of a design and the distribution of stresses, providing insights into the specific properties and behaviors of different design strategies. SGLDBenchs' specific features are highlighted in several experiments, by comparing the results of reference strategies with respect to geometric and mechanical properties. © 2025, CC BY.

Oil extraction screw presses are widely used in agriculture and food industry. In most cases, they are not equipped with complicated control systems due to the necessity of reducing their price and providing sufficient reliability. Therefore, such presses cannot reach the best efficiency (productivity, performance), while processing different seeds and kernels. The present paper is focused on development of the enhanced control allowing for monitoring the operational parameters of the screw press and adjusting them in accordance with user-defined technologically prescribed ones. The research methodology contains a thorough analysis of the press design and operational peculiarities, and the development of functional (block), circuit, and breadboard diagrams of the control system. In order to verify the initially stated ideas of control strategies, the simulation models of the control systems are implemented in the TinkerCAD and SolidWorks software, and the experimental prototype of the screw press is correspondingly improved. The presented control system and press regulation strategies can be effectively implemented by engineers and technologists while developing new and enhancing existing designs of screw presses.

Pre-sowing treatment of sunflower seeds in a magnetic field improves its sowing qualities, plant biometrics and yield, which can be explained by increasing the rate of chemical reactions in seeds, solubility of salts and acids, permeability of cell membranes, increased transport of ions, oxygen and water. Based on the obtained analytical dependences and experimentally the regime parameters of sunflower seed treatment and their optimal values was determined: magnetic induction 0.065 T, magnetic field gradient 0.57 T/m (pole division 0.23 m), fourfold re-magnetization, seed velocity 0.4 m/s, which provides energy dose of seed treatment 3.8 J.s/kg. It is established that the change in the biopotential of sunflower seeds can determine the efficiency of their treatment in a magnetic field and determine the change in activation energy, which does not exceed 3.28 kJ/g-eq. Using the optimal parameters of sunflower seed treatment in a magnetic field, an device for pre-sowing treatment of sunflower seeds in a magnetic field was designed and manufactured, the use of which increases germination energy by 28 %, germination by 24 %, sunflower yield by 26 %. © 2022 IEEE.
