Smart cities aim not only to make people's lives more enjoyable but also safer using advanced technology. Being in a crowded community spaces such as schools, colleges, stadiums, subway stations or holy spots on Pilgrimage impacts not only the level of human convenience but above all the threat of human security. An abnormal crowd conduct can lead to push, mass panic, stampede, crowd-crush, and causing an overall control loss. The current work introduced a mobile-based crowd abnormal behavior detection and management system. The system consists of two main parts;firstly, the server-side application connected to IP surveillance camera(s) to detect any abnormal crowd behavior and also crowd level in the entrance gates location(s), while the second main part is a mobile application with different users rights to receive an alarm from the server-side application in case of increasing crowd level or abnormal movement. The suggested framework provides an effective method to connect and alert all the system users immediately, preventing danger resulting from abnormal crowd behavior. © 2019 IEEE.

Over the past 60 years, three distinct electrical switching behaviors have been discovered in chalcogenides: ovonic threshold switch (OTS), ovonic memory switch (OMS), and phase-change switch (PCS). The first two have been successfully utilized in commercialized 3D Xpoint chips, serving as selector and memory cells, respectively. However, the relationships among these three behaviors remain unclear. Here, it is demonstrated that the Ge-Te binary system exhibits these three switching mechanisms. Specifically, the switching behavior transforms from PCS-like to OTS-like within the composition range from GeTe8 to GeTe6, while the shift from volatile (OTS) to non-volatile switching behavior (OMS) occurs between the compositions GeTe2 and GeTe. The PCS-to-OTS transition is primarily driven by enhancements in glass-forming ability, with the Turnbull parameter increasing from 0.58 to 0.6, and the crystallization temperature exceeding 145 °C, while the shift from OTS to OMS behavior is largely due to the significantly accelerated crystallization speed, from microseconds to nanoseconds. Most importantly, the GeTe16 PCS stands out, with a large ON current (0.6 mA), low leakage current (−8 A), high endurance (>6 × 109 cycles), and high-temperature back-end-of-line compatibility. The crystalline nature of this PCS material addresses the composition and toxicity issues in conventional OTS materials. Moreover, GeTe16 PCSs have been successfully integrated with GeTe OMSs, forming selector/memory arrays with a read margin of 0.4 V. These findings not only reveal the mechanisms underlying the volatile to non-volatile transition but also provide an alternative solution for high-density 3D memory, potentially replacing the OTS/OMS stack approach. © 2025 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

There are many losses in nodes of the rubber supply chain. Rubbers are brought by boat to the Musi river estuary and sent to Mother Vessel near Singapore. If the nodes, where the rubber production is supposed to be collected, are not in function, then the rubber chain will be damaged. Farmers prefer to keep their rubber at home and wait for the middlemen to buy and collect them directly from their home. The productivity of rubber fell sharply as the price went down, and several big factories that have been shut down. This study aims to identify the characteristics of rubber trips, analyze the Nodes of the element of multimodal trips and multimodality per segment of rubber commodity trips, and make scenarios of improvement of the transport system for rubber in South Sumatera by means of information technology system. Transport data is analyzed by Matrices Analysis followed by VISUM program analysis. Interpretation of Land Image to recognize the area of rubber plantation is carried out using Image Landsat 8 and multispectral Analysis. The results will be the information system to improve hinterland productivity and multimodal rubber transportation. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Previous studies proposed several bio-inspired algorithms for the optimization of Neural Network (NN) to avoid local minima and to improve accuracy and convergence speed. To advance the performance of NN, a new bio-inspired algorithm called Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) is used to optimize the weights and bias of NN due to its ability to explore very large search space and frequent chosen of similar solution. The FPA optimized NN (FPNN) was applied to build a model for the prediction of Dubai crude oil price unlike previous studies that mainly focus on the West Texas Intermediate and Brent crude oil price benchmarks. Results suggested that the FPNN was found to improve the convergence speed and accuracy of the cuckoo search algorithm and artificial bee colony optimized NN in the prediction of Dubai crude oil price. The Middle East region that produces a significant amount of crude oil relies on the Dubai crude oil price to benchmark prices for exporting crude oil to Asian countries. Our model could be of help to the Middle East region for monitoring possible fluctuations in the Dubai crude oil market price so as to take better decision related to international crude oil price. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

Face recognition has long been a hot topic and challenging research point in areas such as image processing, pattern recognition, and machine vision. The face is a biometric feature with the intrinsic nature of a human. So that the face has self-stability, deep individual differences and can be an ideal basis for verification of an identity. In this research use, Deep Learning Network method uses to perform detection or face recognition. In this study, we present a framework that can be used to detect faces. This research is also able to present a DNN model that is used to study data sources from the data stream in sequence. The most important part of this study is able to adjust the capacity of the model from the simple one. This research uses experimental design method. The first step is a collection of face image data. Then the architecture design starts from the determination of the depth of the network, layout layers, and the selection of layer types that will be used to get the model based on input dataset and label name index. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Classification for Indonesian language documents was increased. But the application of classification for question and answer system needs is still few. The purpose of this paper is to maximize the classification of Indonesian documents especially the Qur'an translation to support the question and answer system. In the process of creating a question and answer system that is still ongoing, testing the Naïve Bayes algorithm becomes very important besides other algorithms. The Naïve Bayes method is the first choice in this test as it has practicality in calculating. The result of this study is the classification of ITQ documents with 4 categories: Morality, faith, knowledge, and Muamalah. The average accuracy rate of 90.5% indicates that the Naïve Bayes method is still relevant for use. © 2019 IEEE.

Rainfall has the highest correlation with adverse natural disasters. One of them, rainfall can cause damage to the hot mud embankments in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia. Therefore, in this study, rainfall prediction is carried out to anticipate the damage to the embankments. The rainfall prediction was carried out using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) based on rainfall parameters: El-Nino and Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD). Experiments were carried out with two schemes: the first scheme used the El-Nino and IOD parameters, while the second scheme used rainfall time series pattern. Each scheme used varied number of hidden layers, batch size, and learn drop period. The prediction results using El-Nino and IOD parameters obtained MAAPE values of 0.9644 with hidden layer, batch size and learn rate drop period values of 100, 64, and 50. The prediction results using rainfall parameters resulted in a more accurate prediction with a MAAPE value of 0.5810. The best prediction results were obtained with the number of hidden layers, batch size and learn rate drop period of 100, 32, and 150 respectively.

Companies must have a strong competitive strategy in the market in meeting customer needs, it is necessary an information system that applies the method of customer relationship management. Target for this research were SMEs Tapis in Lampung Indonesia. Tapis Lampung is one of the clothes used in Lampung Indonesia culture. Tapis Lampung must be introduced and disseminated, not only in Indonesia, but in overseas. Problem in this study is product orders are still coming directly to the location and via telephone, as well as product marketing through Instagram media. Orders are recorded in the book, so that data processing is less effective and efficient. There is no consumer database to see the number of existing customers, do not yet have communication and service good to consumers. The purpose of this study is to produce an information system application program using web-based E-crm method which is a strategy to increase sales, expand marketing and improve services to consumers. The application of web-based CRM methods in Tapis Lampung SMEs is important so that they can open sales opportunities globally, and have a good relationship with consumers because they can provide services to consumers that are more effective and efficient. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

ABSTRACTOpen Learner Model (OLM) visualisations capture and display a learner’s learning state such as knowledge levels, learning progress, and misconceptions. Exposing learners to their own models offers learners a perspective about their learning state. Numerous benefits have been reported include providing more opportunities for learners to collaborate, enhancing learning outcomes, and prompting learners to be more self-regulated. We describe a new independent OLM tool, Doubtfire++ that we have designed to support Task-Oriented Portfolio teaching to raise student awareness of their progress and achievements, and to encourage self-regulated learning. The results of our evaluation show that Doubtfire++ helped the teaching staff in creating a supportive learning environment and students felt supported and rewarded for learning in a self-regulated manner. We have identified several OLM visualizations that were perceived to assist self-regulated learning. We also have gained insightful inputs and feedback that lead to expanding its application to a broader context.

Distributed Virtual Environment (DVE) is a shared application consisting many objects, which can be accessed by many users. There have been many methods used to scale the DVE such as dividing simulation workload, dynamic load balancing among servers, and creating alternative architectures. However, they suffer to accommodate many objects and users. In this paper, we propose a novel architecture, called object-based simulators architecture. It comprises three components, i.e. object simulators, universe, and Content Delivery Network (CDN). The experiment results show that our proposed architecture can provide a DVE that is more scalable than the previous architectures. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.
