Billions of IoT devices and smart objects are already in operation today and even more are expected to be on the network over time. These IoT devices will generate enormous amounts of data that cannot be allowed to transmit on the network without end-to-end encryption or any trust and security mechanism. Currently, we have certificate authorities that certify the identity of a network device by binding its identity with its public key. However, these certificate authorities are centralized in structure and will not be able to individually certify billions of IoT devices entirely. In this paper, we propose that in an SDN-based IoT network, the identities, i.e., public keys and trust indices of IoT devices, can be stored on a blockchain to ensure immutability and tamper-resistance. The paper presents a novel scalable solution for key and trust management of IoT devices in IoT networks, with a successful proof-of-concept that proves the scalability of the proposed solution. The combination of an IoT network along with blockchain technology and software-defined networking (SDN) is effectively demonstrated through simulation that is able to store the public keys of IoT devices on the blockchain and route the network traffic efficiently through SDN. The performance of the proposed solution is evaluated in terms of throughput and access time delay. The results illustrate that access delay and throughput were not affected linearly or exponentially and the proposed solution shows no significant degradation in the performance with the increase in the number of nodes and packets. © 2020, CC BY.

In this work, we investigate the drawback of direct application from a dataset to the new domain with a different probability distribution, known as domain shifting. The two different probability distribution of datasets is generally known as source domain and target domain. Regularly, when we use large datasets from the open repository(source domain) for the new problem(target domain), we need to bridge for adapting these two domains. Notably, this research focuses on learning setup for the multimodal task which is commonly known as domain adaptation. To minimize the difference between the source and target domain, we employ cluster analysis with a modification of the loss function of a deep neural network. The modification of the loss function is done by combining the cross-entropy with covariance between source and target domains. We propose a method named Pairwise Cluster Similarity Domain Adaptation(PCSDA) that orders the distance among clusters from the source and target domains. Comprehensive experimental results of image captioning task(object detection on image and text generation) demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Neuronal signals generally represent activation of the neuronal networks and give insights into brain functionalities. They are considered as fingerprints of actions and their processing across different structures of the brain. These recordings generate a large volume of data that are susceptible to noise and artifacts. Therefore, the review of these data to ensure high quality by automatically detecting and removing the artifacts is imperative. Toward this aim, this work proposes a custom-developed automatic artifact removal toolbox named, SANTIA (SigMate Advanced: a Novel Tool for Identification of Artifacts in Neuronal Signals). Developed in Matlab, SANTIA is an open-source toolbox that applies neural network-based machine learning techniques to label and train models to detect artifacts from the invasive neuronal signals known as local field potentials. © 2021, The Author(s).

The server room is a room that stores data, there is company information (Data Center). Hot server room conditions can cause performance on the device and network to decrease. Therefore an admin must keep the server space stable so that the server and network performance is maintained. The temperature monitoring system can be used to monitor temperature and humidity in the server room. In addition, it provides a response to reduce the temperature if there is a temperature increase in the server room. This study uses the Internet of Thing (IoT), which is a device used by the Raspberry Pi and Wemos DHT Shield wireless sensor as a device that is able to read the temperature and humidity conditions of the room. Temperature and humidity log data is stored in the MySQL database, then displayed in a chart diagram in real time. IoT response based on predetermined temperature standards by giving notifications to users via Whatsapp Application on mobile devices. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Currently, the growth of information and technology is rapid. It makes a lot of things in various fields including education becoming more effective and efficient. In education, one of its implementation which is a game is proven to be a useful tool to support conventional teaching methods and bring a more natural understanding of learning materials. Moreover, as a product of the popular culture in modern society, video game mirrors the general culture practice in real life and reflects it via its own culture inside the game. This makes a video game can give a contribution to the social construction of reality as it affects the player's view towards learning in real life and vice versa. From there, we see that there is an opportunity for learning about religion to be supported by its utilization to provide an interactive and fun learning experience. In this paper, we discuss how a video game is implemented to support religious learning. The game was developed with the scrum method where we surveyed to gather the user requirements before the design step. The game design was made by using the use case diagram and storyboard, and it was built using Unity version 2017.3.0f3. © 2019 IEEE.

The integration of cloud computing and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) to create Sensor-cloud helps in extending the data processing capability and storage capability of WSNs. Knowing how weak WSNs are with regards to communication ability, how to collect and upload sensory data to the cloud in limited time has become an issue in Sensor-cloud. In the last decade, with increasing interest by researchers in the domain, a considerable amount of research works have been conducted and published in the research domain. The main objective of this study is to systematically review the current research on data collection in Sensor-cloud. Hence, the study also aims at identifying, categorizing, and synthesizing important studies in the field of study. Accordingly, an evidence-based methodology is utilized in this study. By doing so,43 relevant studies were identified and retrieved to answer the formulated research questions. The systematic methodology offers a methodical and rigorous study selection and evaluation process that is repeatable and precise. The result shows that research on data collection in Sensor-cloud is relatively consistent with stable output in the last five years. Ten proposal contributions were identified with system, Framework, and Algorithm being the most used by the selected studies. In conclusion, key research challenges and future research directions were identified and discussed for researchers to propose effective solutions to the existing challenges. Although research on data collection in Sensor-cloud is gaining some traction in recent years, the works in the domain are not sufficient and concrete proposals are needed to improve data collection. © 2020, CC BY-NC-SA.

Interfacial two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG), especially the SrTiO3-based ones at the unexpected interface of insulators, have emerged to be a promising candidate for efficient charge-spin current interconversion. In this article, to gain insight into the mechanism of the charge-spin current interconversion at the oxide-based 2DEG, we focused on conducting interfaces between insulating SrTiO3 and two types of aluminium-based amorphous insulators, namely SrTiO3/AlN and SrTiO3/Al2O3, and estimated their charge-spin conversion efficiency, θcs. The two types of amorphous insulators were selected to explicitly probe the overlooked contribution of oxygen vacancy to the θcs. We proposed a mechanism to explain results of spin-torque ferromagnetic resonance (ST-FMR) measurements and developed an analysis protocol to reliably estimate the θcs of the oxide based 2DEG. The resultant θcs/t, where t is the thickness of the 2DEG, were estimated to be 0.244 nm-1 and 0.101 nm-1 for the SrTiO3/AlN and SrTiO3/Al2O3, respectively, and they are strikingly comparable to their crystalline counterparts. Furthermore, we also observe a large direct current modulation of resonance linewidth in SrTiO3/AlN samples, confirming its high θcs and attesting an oxygen-vacancy-enabled charge-spin conversion. Our findings emphasize the defects' contribution to the charge-spin interconversion, especially in the oxide-based low dimensional systems, and provide a way to create and enhance charge-spin interconversion via defect engineering. Software institutions recently implement more than one software process model in order to achieve a high value in their products and services. The challenges of implementing several quality models are increasing the risk of Multi-Model Environment (MME) failure and more resources are needed to support the MME. This kind of resources is not available in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), especially in Sudanese institutions. This study aims to provide a solution by encouraging the Sudanese SMEs to apply software models in their software development processes. We are seeking to make these institutions understand how to integrate product quality models with software process improvement models. To achieve this goal, we used a systematic harmonization technique to harmonize and map ISO/IEC 25010 standard onto Capability Maturity Model Integrity (CMMI) Dev 1.3 level 2 and 3. Also, we reviewed the related works of the previous studies on MMEs to achieve better results. The results show some of the processes and activities of CMMI Dev 1.3 considering software quality attributes on the early stage of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). On the other hand, we presented how to apply the mapped models and suggest a tool for implementation. This kind of approach gives small organizations the ability to apply multi SPI models. © 2019 IEEE.

Assessing the suitability of soft computing approaches for forest fires prediction

Forest fires present one of the main causes of environmental hazards that have many negative results in different aspect of life. Therefore, early prediction, fast detection and rapid action are the key elements for controlling such phenomenon and saving lives. Through this work, 517 different entries were selected at different times for montesinho natural park (MNP) in Portugal to determine the best predictor that has the ability to detect forest fires, The principle component analysis (PCA) was applied to find the critical patterns and particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique was used to segment the fire regions (clusters). In the next stage, five soft computing (SC) Techniques based on neural network were used in parallel to identify the best technique that would potentially give more accurate and optimum results in predicting of forest fires, these techniques namely;cascade correlation network (CCN), multilayer perceptron neural network (MPNN), polynomial neural network (PNN), radial basis function (RBF) and support vector machine (SVM) In the final stage, the predictors and their performance were evaluated based on five quality measures including root mean squared error (RMSE), mean squared error (MSE), relative absolute error (RAE), mean absolute error (MAE) and information gain (IG). The results indicate that SVM technique was more effective and efficient than the RBF, MPNN, PNN and CCN predictors. The results also show that the SVM algorithm provides more precise predictions compared with other predictors with small estimation error. The obtained results confirm that the SVM improves the prediction accuracy and suitable for forest fires prediction compared to other methods. © 2017 The Authors
