Mobile devices within Fifth Generation(5G)networks,typically equipped with Android systems,serve as a bridge to connect digital gadgets such as global positioning system,mobile devices,and wireless routers,which are vital in facilitating end-user communication ***,the security of Android systems has been challenged by the sensitive data involved,leading to vulnerabilities in mobile devices used in 5G *** vulnerabilities expose mobile devices to cyber-attacks,primarily resulting from security ***-permission apps in Android can exploit these channels to access sensitive information,including user identities,login credentials,and geolocation *** such attack leverages"zero-permission"sensors like accelerometers and gyroscopes,enabling attackers to gather information about the smartphone's *** underscores the importance of fortifying mobile devices against potential future *** research focuses on a new recurrent neural network prediction model,which has proved highly effective for detecting side-channel attacks in mobile devices in 5G *** conducted state-of-the-art comparative studies to validate our experimental *** results demonstrate that even a small amount of training data can accurately recognize 37.5％of previously unseen user-typed ***,our tap detection mechanism achieves a 92％accuracy rate,a crucial factor for text *** findings have significant practical implications,as they reinforce mobile device security in 5G networks,enhancing user privacy,and data protection.

Location privacy protection in vehicular networks has been a primary priority to ensure because of its direct impact on human physical safety. Leakage and violation of road users' location privacy may be perilous beyond simple curiosity as it may scale to cyberstalking and tracking. This may lead to road users being subjected to mental and physical distress, from blackmailing to targeted advertising, and trap planning. The results of tracking may be fatal to road users. Over the past 17 years, researchers have been actively investigating location privacy protection mechanisms for vehicular networks. Numerous research results have been published that examined the use of pseudonym change strategies, which have been considered as the most appropriate solution that maintains the tradeoff between ease of application, good protection level, and the correct functionality of the network. We evaluate, classify, and analyze pseudonym change strategies aimed at location privacy preserving solutions for vehicular networks and discuss their performance. We also review the simulation tools used for evaluating pseudonym change techniques used in location privacy preserving solutions for the vehicular environment. The results of this survey will help researchers in this field to develop more robust, efficient, and cost-effective location privacy protection schemes in the future. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Enhancing Quality of Service in IoT-WSN through Edge-Enabled Multi-Objective Optimization

The demand for real-time, high-quality services (QoS) is increasing with the proliferation of the resource-constrained nature of edge devices that facilitate the Internet of Things (IoT) and wireless sensor network (WSN) applications. Several existing multi-objective algorithms, such as MOPSO, Elitism MOGA, MODE, and others, are capable of balancing exploration and exploitation;they assist in efficient QoS management for WSN-IoT applications, address resource limitations, and align with the objectives of the applications. However, they suffer from showing robustness in the solution and efficient convergence rates on benchmark functions impacting overall QoS. This paper proposes a multi-objective optimization and edge-intelligent adaptation-based strategy to address QoS management issues, jointly optimize several competing objectives, like energy and latency, and maximize localization and coverage rates while considering the limitations of edge devices. The proposed work uses a novel Grey-wolf optimizer (GWO) Algorithm with an innovative bird-edge-computing adaptation approach to analyze the complex connections between input parameters, edge resources, and QoS indicators to generate Pareto-optimal solutions. The evaluation of the proposed edge intelligence technique with IoT applications demonstrates its effectiveness compared to conventional heuristic-based approaches. This approach enhances the QoS in IoT applications and improves resource utilization and scalability in edge computing environments. © 2025 IEEE.

Proactive Robust Hardening of Resilient Power Distribution Network: Decision-Dependent Uncertainty Modeling and Fast Solution Strategy

To address the power system hardening problem, traditional approaches often adopt robust optimization (RO) that considers a fixed set of concerned contingencies, regardless of the fact that hardening some components actually renders relevant contingencies impractical. In this paper, we directly adopt a dynamic uncertainty set that explicitly incorporates the impact of hardening decisions on the worst-case contingencies, which leads to a decision-dependent uncertainty (DDU) set. Then, a DDU-based robust-stochastic optimization (DDU-RSO) model is proposed to support the hardening decisions on distribution lines and distributed generators (DGs). Also, the randomness of load variations and available storage levels is considered through stochastic programming (SP) in the innermost level problem. Various corrective measures (e.g., the joint scheduling of DGs and energy storage) are included, coupling with a finite support of stochastic scenarios, for resilience enhancement. To relieve the computation burden of this new hardening formulation, an enhanced customization of parametric column-and-constraint generation (P-C&CG) algorithm is developed. By leveraging the network structural information, the enhancement strategies based on resilience importance indices are designed to improve the convergence performance. Numerical results on 33-bus and 118-bus test distribution networks have demonstrated the effectiveness of DDU-RSO aided hardening scheme. Furthermore, in comparison to existing solution methods, the enhanced P-C&CG has achieved a superior performance by reducing the solution time by a few orders of magnitudes. Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) emerges as a promising technology for 6G, particularly in the millimeter-wave (mmWave) band. However, the widely utilized hybrid architecture in mmWave systems compromises multiplexing gain due to the constraints of limited radio-frequency (RF) chains. Moreover, additional sensing functionalities exacerbate the impairment of spectrum efficiency (SE). In this paper, we present an optimized beam pattern modulation-embedded ISAC (BPM-ISAC) transceiver design, which spares one RF chain for sensing and uses the remaining ones for communication. To compensate for the reduced SE, index modulation across communication beams is applied. We formulate an optimization problem aimed at minimizing the mean squared error (MSE) of the sensing beampattern, subject to a symbol MSE constraint. This problem is then solved by sequentially optimizing the analog and digital parts. Both the multi-aperture structure (MAS) and the multi-beam structure (MBS) are considered in the analog part. We conduct theoretical analysis on the asymptotic pairwise error probability (APEP) and the Cramér-Rao bound (CRB) of direction of arrival (DoA) estimation. Numerical simulations validate the overall enhanced ISAC performance over existing alternatives. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.

This paper studies the robust co-planning of proactive network hardening and mobile hydrogen energy resources (MHERs) scheduling, which is to enhance the resilience of power distribution network (PDN) against the disastrous events. A decision-dependent robust optimization model is formulated with min − max resilience constraint and discrete recourse structure, which helps achieve the load survivability target considering endogenous uncertainties. Different from the traditional model with a fixed uncertainty set, we adopt a dynamic representation that explicitly captures the endogenous uncertainties of network contingency as well as the available hydrogen storage levels of MHERs, which induces a decision-dependent uncertainty (DDU) set. Also, the multi-period adaptive routing and energy scheduling of MHERs are modeled as a mixed-integer recourse problem for further decreasing the resilience cost. Then, a nested parametric column-and-constraint generation (N-PC&CG) algorithm is customized and developed to solve this challenging formulation. By leveraging the structural property of the DDU set as well as the combination of discrete recourse decisions and the corresponding extreme points, we derive a strengthened solution scheme with nontrivial enhancement strategies to realize efficient and exact computation. Numerical results on 14-bus test system and 56-bus real-world distribution network demonstrate the resilience benefits and economical feasibility of the proposed method under different damage severity levels. Moreover, the enhanced NPC&CG shows a superior solution capability to support prompt decisions for resilient planning with DDU models. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Self-information broadcast messages are recurrently send out by vehicular terminals to establish their presence and hence improve situational awareness in road transportation. Importantly, such information snippets could prove invaluable to cloud-based intelligent transportation system services that aim to improve safety, traffic efficiency, and offer a plethora of infotainment services. However, due to the bulk nature of the aggregated load collected by vehicular peers, the delivery of this traffic to the infrastructure proves to be a challenging task. The latter offloading problem is considered in this work, in which each individual vehicular station decides on the offloading strategy that maintains proper utilization of the available infrastructure network. For this purpose, a graph theoretic approach is followed in which stations first estimate the potential of eventually being serviced by an available infrastructure node and then decide on the best offloading strategy that minimizes the load variance between the current and subsequent serving nodes. Performance analysis results illustrate that the proposed solution provides substantial load balancing gains and is computationally efficient to implement in practice for arbitrarily large network instances.

RevolverNet, operates over wireless ad-hoc networks where nodes communicate in duty cycles. When not at sleep, nodes beacon their own data and listen for data coming from neighboring nodes. Importantly, this mode of operation is increasingly becoming a prominent feature in a variety of communication setups, including emergency response networks (ERNs). RevolverNet is purposefully designed to take advantage of these beaconing mechanisms to gather network intelligence and achieve data dissemination in a purely distributed and local fashion. We examine two favourable features of RevolverNet that are attractive to ERNs, namely topological mapping and node localization that are highly applicable to ERNs. We show how these two features can be extracted from the underlying adhoc network in an efficient manner and how they can subsequently be used to disseminate information in the network. We present preliminary results on the performance of RevolverNet and discuss future work.
